Markle's logo is similar to the logo on the back of the crew jackets for Madonna's Blond Ambition tour.

Is there anything original about this woman?

AtlusVue. I have already said she learnt calligraphy so she should be able to do and note in whatever style she wants to
My dear old Mother had wonderful handwriting and it hasn't been passed down!

I can express an opinion on a discussion forum if I so wish. You cannot police threads by telling other posters what they should be posting and what they shouldn't be posting. That's not the way it works sorry

I wouldn’t start a thread about someone I liked if I knew there was a lot of hatred for that person, because I know it would invite a lot of horrible comments and the thread wouldn't go well

^ This. Anything positive is drowned out by negative posters. Very unpleasant and is something I cannot get my head round. It's almost as if those but really don't like Meghan just cannot bear to see anything positive about her anywhere and they just have to shout it down.
No way would I be starting a positive thread about Meghan. Ive seen the personal attacks on posters who don't dislike Meghan.

Samcro · 21/03/2025 08:05

so you want an echo chamber?

If you can express an opinion ‘if you so wish’ then stop chastising others for sharing theirs!

You are being hypocritical.

I think calligraphy is beautiful so it's lovely to see people writing in that way. When I was younger we were taught joined uo handwriting which has elements of calligraphy in it and i still write in that style too and always get lots of lovely comments about my writing.

But like most things some people will like it others won't 🤷‍♀️

Not at all!

Share your opinion about the topic! Not derailing and criticising others for sharing their opinion accusing them of bullying and hatred.

Share your opinion about the topic

Extiainoiapeial · 21/03/2025 08:10

Share your positive opinions….thats if you all actually have any!!! Because all that happens, is the constant cycle of - it’s bullying, so much hate …… Why not share some Meghan joy! Why not talk about her fashion, recipes etc.

That's been done. over the years posters have tried but have got shouted down and attacked because of what they have said. Some posters just cannot stand to read anything positive about her.
I once said on a thread 'that dress looks good on her, it suits her'. Or something similar. There then followed god knows how many posts disagreeing, No the dress looks awful, look at the way she's wearing it, the colour doesn't suit her, and so on. Followed by snarky comments to me on a personal level.

And?

We post our opinion and all we get is Meghan fans calling us bullies and spreading hatred. You don’t think that’s horrible? Yet we still manage to create threads . So why cant the meghan fans?

TofuFighters · 21/03/2025 08:14

AtIusvue · 21/03/2025 07:59

Is that any excuse to not set one up?

There are posters on here right now complaining how many meghan threads there are and constantly calling out others. That won’t stop people wanting to talk about her though.

Edited

I think it’s a good reason yes. I wouldn’t set up a thread about someone I liked knowing it would be taken over by people wanting to say horrible things.

Also, lots of posters who disagree with the obsessive negative Meghan posts may not be that interested in her, but they still feel the number and type of hateful posts are wrong and will speak up about that. I mentioned Taylor Swift, I have posted to speak up against some horrible posts about her, but I’m not a fan of hers so I wouldn’t start a thread to say I love her music, because I don’t. I could start a thread to say I think it’s terrible that she gets so much hate, but that would attract more hate.

Because they are not necessarily fans, they just don’t like bullying.

Extiainoiapeial · 21/03/2025 08:19

Somewhat of an understatement there!

Because they are not necessarily fans, they just don’t like bullying.. This 100%

Anyway, I'm off, wild garlic picking is calling me, it's everywhere round here!

I thought her note to the influencer was funny and I liked the handwriting but I would love to see her speed writing, completely impossible!

You don’t deal with any of that type of behaviour, yet we have to? Yet, we still put our big girl Tena lady pants on and still continue to post our opinion about a public figure on a public forum.

There’s zero excuse for you all not creating positive Meghan threads. It’s almost as if the enjoyment comes from feeling superior at calling out others, supposed moral failings. Now what would you call that type of behaviour?

Right- then get to it. Create your joyful meg threads

Not true. Nobody pops over to the Royal family section, reads through all the posts, then starts systematically calling out others because they don’t like bullying. They are Meg fans.

Also it’s the same names all the bloody time.

In addition, if they are bullying tsars….maybe they should contact MNHQ and have a chat about systems that could be put in place to stop all the terrible Meg bashing.

Hitherzither · 21/03/2025 08:32

I don’t follow the threads on Meghan. I am a bit shocked to see the Crown on her stationery. Does she want to be a member of the Royal Family? I thought she hated the idea of royalty. It does seem massively hypocritical. I thought most of the people on here who supported her were anti royalists and supported her because she turned her back on the royal family?
It seems there are lots of posters who support her claim to be royal.
I regularly look at YouGov to get a taste of public opinion in the UK. Meghan is very unpopular. She will never be allowed to be part of the royal family under William.
It is clear to me that Trump would like to be ‘King’ of America with the imaginary crown passing to his son. Does Meghan want to be part of this notion of ‘American’ royalty?
I would have a lot more respect for her if she embraced not being ‘royal’ and made her own way. It is all a bit Trumpian to me. Americans have traditionally been proud of not having a King and a democratic Head of State. Do the vocal supporters of her and her royal connections want to see American royalty? I would be interested in what her supporters want?
She isn’t part of the British Royal Family anymore. Do her supporters embrace the Trumpian vision of an American Royal Family?

thinktwice36 · 21/03/2025 08:32

FWIW I have the same disdain for other seemingly lacking in talent influencers who try to sell me their schtick. Just so happens Harry and Meghan do it on a larger scale so are in my face (and feed) more
regularly - hence I have more regular opinions about what’s being peddled by them.

They could very easily have not done this - money beyond most people’s reach which would have given them the comfortable private existence they claimed to need. But they wanted fame and adulation, so here we are, and they are learning the hard way people don’t have to like you just because you want them to.

EsmaCannonball · 21/03/2025 08:39

It's a shame Patricia Routledge isn't a bit younger because I would love a Hyacinth Bucket 'How to Be the Perfect Hostess' type of show. Make it happen, Netflix.

You don’t know that. I can’t speak for anyone else but I’m not a “Meghan fan”. I posted because this was in the active section and because when I read it I saw that the OP had twisted this story to make Meghan look bad.

I’ve been on mumsnet for almost 20 years, since my children were young, and in that time have probably posted about 10 times on the RF board. Those posts have mainly been about the bullying of Meghan (and Kate when she was ill and not working). I also reported a disgusting comment from someone who said something very unpleasant about George and Louis. I’ve got no time for bullying.

Hitherzither · 21/03/2025 08:50

@TofuFightersYou are not the person to answer my question then ( see my previous post ) but I am really curious to know if Meghan and her supporters ( and their clearly are lot of her supporters) embrace the idea of American royalty? The monogrammed crown on her stationery is a bit much for the average person who might admire her entrepreneurial skills! America is a whole new culture under Trump and I think ( like Oliver Cromwell) Trump has ideas about Kingship. Is that what Meghan and her supporters want ?

This thread isn’t bullying. If it was, it would be taken down by MN.

You know note is just As ever PR right? That’s why she sent to an influencer who posted about it and it’s ended up in People magazine- Meghans go to publication.

It’s been put out into the public- therefore people can comment on it : the naked PR push, the ridiculousness of her using a royal monogram when she left the UK on a freedom flight, escaping the Royals who kept her passport locked up.

That not bullying. In anyway shape or form.

thinktwice36 · 21/03/2025 09:01

Criticising something you are being sold does not equal bullying.

Applying consumer choice to a product does not equal bullying.

There is no one like Meghan and Harry that I can think of which is what makes them so fascinating.

I genuinely don't understand what is so fascinating about them tbh & find it quite funny how so many who aren't interested in them are actually very interested. I see two
people who are probably a little bit affected, spoilt, entitled but don't think that's unusual for celebs or royals. I don't see Fred & Rosemary West or Ian & Myra 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's not that they're fascinating, it's the lies, bullying, grifting and above all gorging themselves from the public purse / royalty that they're constantly trying to besmirch for their own gain, creaming off the RF at every possible turn. MM is sooooo disgraceful in her leeching off the memory of Diana or HMTLQ to 'elevate' herself from the dregs of Z list sleb barrel except she can't because she's empty under all of the fake mess

CatsWhiskerz · 21/03/2025 09:06

Imagine if Wallis Simoson was alive today and what the response would be from the public now.
