I often notice people with recent new user names popping up to tell others off and suggest they need to get a life and yet they will have spent most of the previous 24 hours on Mumsnet with a huge amount of posts.

"Do as I say and not as I do" seems to be the mantra for a lot of people these days.

There is no one like Meghan and Harry that I can think of which is what makes them so fascinating. I think a lot of people simply cannot believe how appallingly self centred and ignorant they both are, whilst courting attention, approval and most of all money. It sickens and fascinates people because it’s human nature to comment on the behaviour of others, especially if they court attention in this way. Live by the sword and die by the sword I say. Meghan loves to play the victim, whilst ensuring that her own self interest is front and centre at all times. They have both behaved appallingly and opened themselves up to scrutiny through their own actions. It’s not bullying to comment unfavourably on the pair of them, after all they’ve had enough to say about their families and bullied employees.

I genuinely don't understand what is so fascinating about them tbh & find it quite funny how so many who aren't interested in them are actually very interested. I see two
people who are probably a little bit affected, spoilt, entitled but don't think that's unusual for celebs or royals. I don't see Fred & Rosemary West or Ian & Myra 🤷🏻‍♀️

I always wonder if you'd be happy if your identity was revealed to the world..I guess some of you move in circles where this is normal behaviour but surely some of you would be a bit embarrassed to be seen to be so petty and malicious?

II think a lot of people don’t know what’s been going on unless they have been particularly following events so on the surface see two not very interesting entitled idiots. However for those who have been following events it really is beyond parody. There is a fascination in that.

@Astr0zombie Well said!. I echo what you say and to add that I have more or less seen all of her series, and I just don't see what the problem is. It was pretty, fluffy stuff. There is so much more out there that doesn't get the incessant bullying criticism of Meghan.
What the criticisers don't realise is, the more people lay into her for such pathetic reasons, the more people like me feel the need to defend her. And the only kickback seems to be we are young or Sussex squad or we're bullying. How ironic that those calling out bullying are doing it themselves incessantly

I find it fascinating that the Meghan fans, never have anything positive to say about her. So strange.

They never set up a thread, talking about how much they loved her show, how much they loved trying the recipes.

All they want to do, is call out others for their opinion, while not actually sharing an opinion about the subject matter.

I have. I said how I have watched the series and it really is easy watching. I don't like it all but there are bits that I think are really quite good.

I have said on other threads what I like about her and what I don't like about her.
And there have been threads outside of the royal family board that have been commented on. They are much more even handed

Maybe if he was the father every child would want, then she would be speaking to him. If he has done what has been reported, I don’t blame her for not speaking to him. As someone who has no contact with my parents, these decisions are rarely taken lightly imo.

Whilst reading these threads today and googling Meghan, I read an article about Kerry Katona’s opinion on Meghan. I mean, wtf? It seems Meghan is an easy target for everyone to bully but use to stay relevant themselves.

I’m not really interested in Meghan, but what I do hate is bullying, which is what I see this as, due to a whole board on here being used to mainly spew negative comments about her. Interestingly people have called Meghan a bully, but then are joining in with bulliying themselves. They say Meghan twists things, but that is exactly what the OP of this thread did with others cheering them on. So it’s wrong for Meghan but then they do it themselves??

The behaviours I’ve seen on this board are just not what I’d expect from fully grown adults. Being obsessive and bullying is not a good look and as I said earlier, I’m surprised and disappointed that mumsnet allow it to this degree. I read that Justine, the owner of the site, had previously called the Meghan hating posters deranged, so she is well aware of what is being said.

Anyway, I only posted earlier because this thread was in active, and having read more of the board, I shall be staying away from it. I hope posters reflect on their own behaviours in time, some of which are what they accuse Meghan of and apparently think are wrong. It would be good if Mumsnet looked at their responsibility in all this too, but as a pp said, they’re quite happy to take the traffic that this generates and they’ve allowed it for this long, so why would they stop? I think it’s awful, especially on a site such as mumsnet.

Very well said and I agree with your other posts too. Some posters here have long been obsessive in their hatred for Meghan and it’s not normal behaviour. It’s interesting that when they try to bring it to wider mumsnet, they usually have their arses handed to them, but on this part of mumsnet, they get a skewed view that their behaviour is ok by being surrounded by others who behave the same.

I think it's against the rules to do links to other threads, but there have been positive ones in AIBU.

I'll leave you to it on this one, I can't cope with the endless toxicity about her. I'm going to keep positivity and these threads are anything but that.

Do you think it’s smart PR? Do you think more kids should use cursive writing? That she can be a positive influence on the younger generation on the art of handwriting and letter writing? Share something to actually do with the topic

There are many ways that you can contribute without rebuking others all the time.

I wouldn’t start a thread about someone I liked if I knew there was a lot of hatred for that person, because I know it would invite a lot of horrible comments and the thread wouldn't go well.

Take the threads on Taylor Swift for example, whenever a poster started a thread about her to say how great her concert was or how they loved her new album, within minutes it was full of people commenting horrible things about her looks, her body, her relationships and more. Some people can’t help themselves.

I have seen people try to post positive threads about something Meghan has done or worn and it’s taken over by people being horrible, so that probably goes some way to explaining why people who like her don’t start many posts about her.

Start your own threads. Be positive. If others criticise your opinion- carry on posting regardless! Stop trying to get others, to stop sharing their opinions.

Share your positive opinions….thats if you all actually have any!!! Because all that happens, is the constant cycle of - it’s bullying, so much hate …… Why not share some Meghan joy! Why not talk about her fashion, recipes etc.

Come on! It’s not that difficult- she puts her life on instagram for you. She lives her life through public announcements. You have plenty of content for your threads!
