Markle's logo is similar to the logo on the back of the crew jackets for Madonna's Blond Ambition tour.

Is there anything original about this woman?

Then was us free speech for then, If you can’t talk about what you want? Sort of makes that statement redundant don’t you think?

I’ve been reading other threads on this board today. At the moment, out of the first 10 threads, 9 are about Meghan or Harry and they are up to ‘part 6’ of threads about Meghans As Ever brand. Together with this thread where posters have twisted what happened, it’s clear to me that hating Meghan is a hobby for some people. I can’t believe the shit I’ve read today and quite how much there is of it.

It’s quite disappointing that mumsnet are hosting a board that is full of hate directed at 2 individuals. Even if the posts stay within talk guidelines, the sheer number of spiteful comments become bullying. This isn’t what free speech is for.

The problem is it is this sort of vitriol that makes them money - more comments, more clicks, more advertising revenue. It’s the same principle as the Daily Mail.

I agree. And it's 7 threads on her netflix series, seventh now full. That's 7,000 posts, unbelievable
Yes, it's a nasty hobby that has obviously become addictive for some.

So if we all started posting hate about you, attacking your looks, your job, your kids, the way you dress, the way you talk, the way you write, would that be a good use of our freedom of speech? Or would you be extremely upset and going to the police to stop us?

How is using your time to try and gleefully destroy another persons life a good use of freedom of speech? If you wouldn’t be content with it happening to you, how can you be content doing it to another person? A person you’ve never met, you don’t know and who hasn’t done anything to you?

It’s so fucking weird, I can’t get my head around it.

thinktwice36 · 20/03/2025 19:09

She is putting herself on social media to make money. Why then are people not allowed to comment unless it’s positive?

Would you say this about any other brand, because that’s how she’s marketing herself - as a commodity (jam/image/whatever)

Many put themselves on social media to make money. There aren't thousands of threads on them.

Less interested in the monogram (we know she has delusions of grandeur) ….more interested in the insanity of sending a personal note to a woman who criticised the trailer for With love, Meghan.

That’s completely unhinged. At best the note could be described as passive aggressive, at worst….threatening.

Meghan listened to her podcast, then tracked down her address to send a handwritten note to tell her not to be scared, as some sort of clapback. Psychotic!

It does seem rather passive aggressive doesn’t it

You can post hate about the posts I make. Why? Because I’ve put it on a public forum, feel free to comment.

What I don’t put out for public consumption for money, is my life. That’s what Meghan chooses to monetise- her looks, her outfits, her title, her kids. Therefore, we are free to comment.

ThingsForBingToddler · 20/03/2025 19:15

I really, really cannot stand how she comes across but think she’s so beautiful

This is such a weak argument. So someone is fair game for you to bully because they’re famous?

Get out of here. That’s such a poor excuse for for you to bully another human being. Jesus.

Obviously free to comment but the relentless thousands of threads is a joke. Why not pick on other people who put out for public consumption their life?

Meghan is the go-to scapegoat to be beaten up on 24/7 over years. It's unhinged.

Extiainoiapeial · 20/03/2025 19:27

And? What do you mean? My post makes sense. 'And' doesn't.

Why just Meghan. I honestly think more people are waking up to the never ending criticism and thinking.. hang on, this is turning into a witch hunt. Everything about her is criticised even when it's not warranted.

Thedom · 20/03/2025 19:35

Plenty of Katie Price threads when she is courting the media and putting herself out there for public consumption.

No, fair game for public comment when they make their life public for money.

No.

Baital · 20/03/2025 19:51

Extiainoiapeial · 20/03/2025 19:44

Thousands?

No.

What is the allowed number of comments on someone choosing to have a public profile?

Meghan puts herself in the public eye with her NF series and red carpet appearances.

Where does 'bullying' start and genuine comment stop? The number of comments? But influencers need the quantity.

Have you heard yourself? Really? This is the dregs of society.

This is what I don’t get.
if she is so annoying (insert all the other excuses poster’s give) why do people look at everything she does. To the point that a lot go searching for stuff about her?
I can manage to go days without seeing anything about her(apart from on here of course)
and I don’t dislike her.

Flamingpantoufles · 20/03/2025 20:02

This thread is extraordinary. I just clicked out of interest while cooking dinner and really can't believe the disproportionate vitriol being directed at this woman. I've always felt pretty neutral about Megan & Harry, and the royals for that matter - just never had much interest. But seeing this pile-on makes me feel a quite outraged on her behalf.

cheezy · 20/03/2025 20:04

Yep. I am definitely quite critical of MM but this is scraping the barrel a bit. C'mon OP it is a bit mean.

Extiainoiapeial · 20/03/2025 20:06

In the majority of cases, genuine comment stopped a loooooong time ago

Do you really have to ask this? Because if you have to ask this, I think you might need to reevaluate your behaviour.
