Yes, The Tig was so much more interesting because it had a broader range.

It was travel, food, clothes, beauty - just a general "trying to be cool girl out and about". It looked more fun and natural. It clearly was very curated and not spontaneous but it gave the impression it was.

She seems to be much more cautious in what her output is, trying to please everyone and ends up pleasing no one. IMO she feels she has more an image and a brand to protect, but it seems to be stifling her.

GOOP and Gwyneth have hit the right note (for her audience) because GP isn't scared to look and act like herself. But she's more stable in her income so can afford to.

MM by not enabling comments and not even allowing the number of likes on her IG posts to be seen is inhibiting any conversations and natural growth.

She's still only at 2.6M followers - pretty poor for an account with someone with as much name recognition and a NF show.

To all the posters who cannot cope with reading these threads, hate bullying and feel like these threads are unnecessary, this has just reminded me that there are some really cutesy gardening and home decor threads on MN too! Right this moment there’s probably a good assortment of springtime / Easter wreath ideas being discussed. Should be more balanced and inspiring for you all to read.

I don't do wreaths. A few daffs in a jam jar are the most I get round to. Not very elevated 😂

But I have finally got round to starting a cardi with yarn I bought 4 years ago, and am diligently knitting between MN posts.

I just had the idea to sew some small fabric yo-yos using scraps. Might be fun and certainly much easier to set aside compared to a cardi!

I’ve also just started a positive MM / MS thread as inspired by @AtIusvue. just so everyone has a happy space to air their opinions! Hopefully it will reduce the de-railing and interpersonal criticisms.

I do think classical handwriting is a dying art. Maybe MM would do little video tutorials on insta. I love useful content.

Seen your thread @MonteShitshow just a few posts in and already they are complaining about the vitriol and hatred from other posters who don’t like Meghan, it will be just another opportunity to say we are all racist bullies as this thread has become, in the words of Meghan, As ever 🙄.

They can’t help themselves ….even when the work is done for them- a thread started- all they do is complain.

That poster is referring to the separate and independent investigations by numerous and credible publications who have reported repeated testimonies of MMs appaling behaviour towards staff and colleagues over many years.

It's not the poster that's calling MM a bully - its her own staff (including a senior current colleague) who have reported experiencing and witnessing her behaviour and the distressing impact this has had on them personally.

The ones complaining……clearly.

agree!! I like instagram because I like looking at photos of nice things and cats, but I believe it’s considered a bit older person’s SM. Tiktok would be the way to catch a bigger crowd of younger fans who aspire to be like MM / MS. I’m too old to want to dress like her (I already have my clothes and accessories taste firmly established) and I would be using the cooking ideas to modify my own recipes (rather than buy the kits), so I wouldn’t be the follower who brings in the most revenue for her business.

There are several suggestions that new posters have popped up, perhaps implying they are long time Meghan supporters who have changed their name , or even planted by Meghan's PR team?

I'm a very long term user and many of my recent posts have been about caring for elderly relatives. I don't go on the RF board and wouldn't normally see posts about MM. I'm not at all an MM fan, a sock puppet or a plant. I clicked because the title intrigued me - good title - and I suspect some others did too. Then I was just shocked at the level of vitriol and obsession with another woman's handwriting. It just seemed so bizarrely petty. Then I realised this was just a continuation of an existing debate about the shortcomings of MM and I moved away from the thread.

I did look at the Prue Leith thread. I thought she was manipulated into saying something critical of MM and she was foolish to hand them the clickbait. Some people were unkind to her on that thread, but it didn't seem of the same magnitude as the contempt shown here for MM's handwriting flicks. But even if it was, it wouldn't necessarily mean it was fine for other threads to do the same.

However, I take the point that this thread was posted for those who want to criticise MM, not to start a debate about toxicity on social media, so I might just try to remember not to click on RF threads in future.
