As ever season two: fluffy eggs (with sparkling water) on faces!

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!

Despite the ‘almighty’ British media, the rightwing US media and the internet brigade attempting to outdo each other with their crushing, supposedly annihilating reviews of Meghan’s As ever show, not only has it spent the past days in Netflix’s top 10 in more than 40 countries (including being Nr 5 in the Meg-lovin’ UK), Netflix have renewed the show for a 2nd season!

And of course, Netflix are also actively supporting the launch and commercialisation of Meghan’s As ever product range.

So, some folks have plenty of (hopefully fluffy - add sparkling water!) egg on their faces right now, and none of them are Meghan. She’s delivered the perfect put-down to her detractors with her “Lettuce romaine calm” pun, playfully announcing her Season 2 on her Instagram…. and adding a bum wiggle which to me said “we’ve obviously known for months that there’ll be a season 2, but y’all didn’t, so we’ve let you play with your silly headlines and review-bombing about this being ‘the end of the road’ and we ‘should kiss goodbye to Netflix’ BS, before making you all look like the obsessive fools you are by announcing season 2. Back-off and just chill, folks!”

Too funny! So far in this little PR war, it’s Meghan 2, detractors 0. Basically, the general public don’t GAF about the screeching online: if the show’s a good watch they’ll watch it, and they evidently are… kinda like… a certain biography, that other Sussex review-bombed ‘abject failure’ that still went on to become a Nr1 bestseller in the UK and US…

So, where did the gormless twopenny British journalists and their equally misguided US counterparts go wrong (again)? They were so eager to wield the knife into Meghan (a soooo much easier and risk-free target than Elon Musk, Donald Trump or even Andrew Tate, whom they’re evidently too chicken sh*t to go after with a tenth of the vitriol they enjoy hurling at Meghan), that they forgot to read the not so small print.

That small print includes the words “Netflix” and “Sony Pictures Television”, producers of As ever.

Now, who wields more power and influence over US viewers and consumers, Marina Hyde and her fellow sour-grapes, or Netflix and Sony Pictures combined (not to mention People magazine, Drew Barrymore, etc)?

Hmm… tough one.

So next time spineless journos want to pile-in on a mixed heritage woman for the heinous crime of launching a feel-good lifestyle business, maybe they could read the small print about who’s backing her and turn their Trump and Musk a*s-licking tongues in their mouths a few times before spouting off, lest they end up being the ones looking utterly ridiculous?

If you feel the British and right wing media have been spineless in their continued attacks on Meghan Sussex, discuss!

Meanwhile I need to find me one of ‘em ‘Lettuce romaine calm” baseball caps. Etsy sellers, get to work!

Indeed @FromTheOfficeOfJammyTodger !
And yes good job @Atlasvue .
It seems that it's the one thing left , right and centre agree on , the program was pants!

jeffgoldblum · 09/03/2025 11:23

And I have to say it .... sparkling water to make eggs fluffy?????
Really? I mean really?
No serious cook would even entertain this!!
Not to mention that sparkling water goes flat when heated!

I beg to differ - you can roll it in glitter 😂

A woman posting about her own mother and daughter on International Women’s Day - how dare she acknowledge and celebrate the women in her life? We all know the only acceptable time to acknowledge one’s mother is Mother’s Day.

Clearly, the only acceptable way to celebrate IWD is by personally curating a list of historically significant figures, or perhaps submitting a dissertation on feminism. Anything less is obviously self indulgent and a crime against womanhood. We really need to remove all the titles - this cannot stand.

Goodness me, calm down. People are just pointing out that IWD has a greater meaning than "frolics on the beach with my mum". This year, it's themed around unlocking equal rights, power and opportunities for all women. At the current pace of change, it will take 5 generations to achieve women's equality. If some extremely rich trad wife, pancake mix pusher and wannabe humanitarian political campaigner's idea of honouring IWD is crowing about her own good fortune (by marriage), then she's going to get criticised.

glitterturd · 09/03/2025 11:26

@Baital I think Netflix have long ago given up caring about Meghan. They will know it was a mistake and they may well just be " omg let's just get this done with " by now. They just want this to end rather like how people feel when they watch it.

RominaDina · 09/03/2025 11:26

@FromTheOfficeOfJammyTodger
You're absolutely right. Frolics on the beach, indeed.

You have pinpointed the problem in your first paragraph. It wasn't a Mother's Day post. No one needs to see you and the people you thank for " loving me". It's about others but then as we know it's never about others for Meghan. She made that clear in her toast.

Oh come on. I'm guessing you're sharp enough to understand the meaning and impact of IWD. It's not about a pampered prince playing on the beach, or a trad wife being embraced.
How shallow. However, that's who they are.

FromTheOfficeOfJammyTodger · 09/03/2025 11:32

Ironically enough, there's another thread running about Doria where posters are saying she should not be spoken about because she's a private figure. Yet her extremely public daughter keeps dragging her mum into public scrutiny.

skullbabe · 09/03/2025 11:33

Ah yes, because nothing says ‘unlocking equal rights, power, and opportunities for all women’ quite like telling one particular woman that she has no right to celebrate IWD in her own way. The irony is just chef’s kiss. If the real issue is inequality, maybe direct all that energy towards the people actually upholding structural barriers—rather than obsessing over a beach photo and a box of pancake mix. But I get it—Meghan is obviously the absolute worst, all day, every day, in everything she does, no matter what she does. Consistency is key, I suppose.

jeffgoldblum · 09/03/2025 11:34

Sorry I'm still frothing about the sparkling water in eggs tip !!!! 🤣

Doria can be brought out when it suits Meghan. For the optics.
However, Meghan did claim she was "a latch key kid", which was at least in part the fault of Doria.

Here is a recipe which predates the show with sparkling water in eggs. Not a new technique - but obviously new to some.

You really need to calm down and read what people are saying. Nobody has said she can't celebrate IWD the way she wants to. She clearly just has. What we are saying is that she is not beyond criticism for being tone deaf.

IAmATorturedPoet · 09/03/2025 11:39

IWD for 2025 encompasses everything that Archewell is supposedly all about.

But not a mention.
Just photos of herself and family. I really think she has got confused with Mother’s Day.

Nobody is telling her. We are expressing an opinion and are free to do so. She's chosen to post. She's chosen to promote herself and her private life. She wants the attention. Why do you think she's above criticism?
Some of us have fought for equal rights and equality and note this as a significant day. If a woman, for self promotion, uses the day to promote herself and her private life, the fact that she's celebrating where she is because she's royal and married to a prince, we will criticise.

skullbabe · 09/03/2025 11:42

Oh, I assure you, I’m perfectly calm. And yes, I totally see why people feel her way of celebrating IWD comes across as tone-deaf. I suppose there’s just something deeply ironic about insisting that a woman marking the day in a way that brings her joy is somehow the wrong way to do it. But hey, if the real goal is uplifting women, I’m sure tearing this one down is the way to go.

I think she just takes any opportunity for self promotion. In the most vacuous way.

Nobody's "insisting". We're commenting
We have opinions. I have been connected to events for IWD for years. Images of a rich, privileged aristocrat playing on a beach has nothing to do with that.
She wants to post those kinds of pictures to promote herself and her private life? Fine. She should go ahead. However, she should not link it to IWD. Just my opinion.

skullbabe · 09/03/2025 11:46

You know what—you’re absolutely right! She didn’t credit anyone for that technique. The absolute monster. And now that I think about it, I distinctly remember seeing her chiffonade her veggies—without so much as a footnote citing the inventor of that technique either. Good God—what a narcissist! How does she sleep at night?

Probably soundly, most narcissists do.

Mylovelygreendress · 09/03/2025 11:49

I can understand Meghan posting a photo of her Mum but why the one of her and Harry ? I don’t get that at all .
She would have been better posting a photo of Gloria Steinem or Michelle Obama . Real campaigners for women’s rights.
