Yes, I remember having a great laugh about it at the time.

It was also 13 years ago, when this sort of thing didn't seem quite as naff as it does now. One of the many problems with Meghan's lifestyle shtick is that it's just so out of tune with the times.

I bought PippaTips for £6.25 from WHSmith when it failed to shift the copies. I got it down off the shelf the other day and I will say it was much better than the first episode of WLM.

I've just looked up the lyrics. I think Netflix should have used this as the introduction music. It's perfect:

Collect those little metal bottle-tops and nail them upside down to the floor? This will give a sensation of walking on little metal bottle-tops, turned upside down

Get hold of an ordinary Northumbrian spokeshaver's coracle, paint it in contrasting stripes of say Telephone Black and White-White, and hang it up in the hall for a guitar-tidy for parties?

I'm delirious about our new cooker fitment with the eye-level grill. This means without my having to bend down the hot fat can squirt straight into my eye!

She also took note of the response she was getting (probably got a lot of teasing at home as well) and pivoted to something else - stonkingly rich billionaire husband, yummy mummy life, sports psychology postgrad. What she didn't do is try to flog the dead fame horse for celebrity profile.

Someone posted about this on a thread not too long ago. They said that Pippa had been inundated with offers post the wedding and that she chose to do the book and the Waitrose magazine column with her eyes open. I mean if everyone is throwing money at you and you can do something that won't negatively affect your sister why not take it? Harry and Meghan's mistake was what they took the money for.

Yes none of Catherine’s family have done anything to cause her embarrassment. They are really the model family apart from maybe Uncle Gary.

I bet the Middletons have really had to bite their tongues a few times over the years especially during the “ where’s Kate “ months. And doesn’t everyone have a slightly embarrassing relative ( looking at you DB) ?

Briefly back to eye-level grills… dm was so proud of our Parkinson Cowan oven. A little while ago I stayed in a holiday chalet which was in a time warp (and not a trendy retro one!) and there was the very same oven. That grill made stonkingly good toast and the gas (had to lean in with a taper ) took me right back to my 70s childhood.

@Mylovelygreendress Party Pieces was a good little company. They would send their catalogue about a month before DCs’ birthdays, which was a nice reminder to start planning. I tried to keep buying from them because they were a fairly local, family owned business. However they just couldn’t compete with Amazon which was selling many of the same things but with fast, free delivery. Of course the papers couldn’t resist giving them a good kicking when they folded.

Plus the pandemic did for a lot of small businesses. I never really understood the kicking they got for protecting themselves in exactly the same way as any other small business owner.

Usually it's people who don't understand even the basics of company and insolvency law.

1. Animal rights activist. Something about chickens, I vaguely remember, though it’s a bit of a blur. That said, the only truly positive story I remember reading about her in Tom Bowles’ book was her alleged fury at seeing a parrot in a cage in a windowless hotel corridor and demanding to move to a different (expensive) hotel as a result. Kudos to her, if that story is true.

Sorry I’m only at 11th March, but had to stop and say how unimpressed I am if that’s true. I’d have been advocating for the parrot to be moved. Moved to an enclosure where it could at least fly, not demanding to move myself so it was out of sight, out of mind.

I don’t consider Tom Bower to be an even remotely unbiased source in regards to Meghan.

He clearly doesn’t like her, no - but that doesn’t mean what he says isn’t true.

funnily enough no lawsuit against him, from a notoriously litigious couple. You’d expect them to sue if anything he claimed was untrue.
