That’s interesting and I will take a look at this comedian’s take.
It reminds me that narcissists’ contempt is one of their markers … which I suppose is similar to hate. Sometimes it just bursts out of them. Even about people they previously were close to or good friends with.
They can also suddenly devalue and dismiss people from their lives for the most minor of (real or imagined) infractions. MM’s father would be a good example. He went from father of the year to persona non gratis, never to be seen or contacted by her again.
I should say MM is not personally v interesting to me and I’m not interested in the royal family either especially, though I know some people on this thread are. However, I do find her interesting as an example of a mid-level narcissist, and also as a figure of our more narcissist times, including eg. virtue signalling as a form of self promotion etc. After all, why do anything real when you can simply release a word salad or upload a LiveLaughLove meme or video on Instagram.
PS. One further observation re. MM’s new podcast about “founder women”. The name brings to mind cosy American values like Founding Fathers and Little Women. It’s a little ironic as MM actually got ahead in this world by marrying a rich prince and merching his family. In a way she is living proof of the old adage that “marriage is still the best career for a woman“. It doesn’t bother me if this is true or not btw, but why pretend you don’t fall into that catergory? To be fair, she was a slightly successful actress in one series and had also had a successful Tig thing; going; but she only really made it in any real sense when she “got a ring on it” as she said 👀 to Drew Barrymore!!
