She would sell her Granny if she had one.

Well, she’s sold Harry’s Granny.

Mia184 · 07/03/2025 19:11

According to rumors there will be a 2nd season! The episodes have allegedly been already filmed and they want to spare Megs the shame of being cancelled.

I think that is understandable but I do think Netflix are leaving themselves open to criticism from all the fans whose shows have done far better and still been cancelled.

Is WLM even in the Top 10 at the moment?

That won't affect Meghan and is nothing to do with her. I'm one of the fans who lost a series to a cliffhanger that never ended!

Overhaul54 · 07/03/2025 19:23

2nd series?
It will be anything that is guaranteed an audience. Netflix needs "names", sure fire tried and tested show formats to go up against the plethora of crap its in competition with.

Like or loathe her, she's well known and therefore inheritably marketable.

I think in the UK we are interested because of the car crash of conflating Monarchy "the job" with "incredibly important wealthy family".
Meghan the Suits actress making a show, would be received a lot better than trading on someone else's family name.

I agree. I cancelled my Netflix in December because there was nothing to watch. I watch more on Prime.

As did Harry.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 07/03/2025 19:43

She does seem to be untouchable, outed not only as a liar but a bully on both sides of the Atlantic by numerous people and yet she isn’t cancelled, in fact she is rewarded and fawned over. Ellen must be scratching her head wondering what the actual fuck?

BemusedAmerican · 07/03/2025 19:49

This Irish reviewer seems to be accurate. The last few paragraphs are gold:

I would love a rugged survivalist Meghan show. That i would watch.

I suppose it's too much to hope she'll join Celebrity Bear Hunt?

Bontonbonbon · 07/03/2025 20:13

It does seem to be a split season rather than a ‘renewed’ season 2. They probably filmed it all at once and then decided to release it in two parts (possibly some sort of contractual detail).

Will be interesting to see if she has guests on in the second part of the season. It’s been universally panned (apart from the usual cheerleaders).

The important thing will be whether the series turns into sales for As Ever. Without that then she’s dead in the water.

I enjoyed that, thank you!

Surely they’ve got to have the products ready for season 2?

Fraudornot · 07/03/2025 20:38

I've just tried to watch the first episode and couldn't make it to the end. It was awful. I can now see why Meghan was such a disruptor in the RF. She lives her life as if she is on stage all the time but says nothing, just fills the air with words. I can imagine she was deeply irritating and arrogant and really hard to have any kind of meaningful relationship with.

ThePoshUns · 07/03/2025 20:43

Ironically Amandaland also has a second series

AtIusvue · 07/03/2025 20:43

It’s informercials for NF. They don’t care how it reviews, just that people watch.

They are invested in the as ever business. They stated that you can recreate with love meghan with their As Ever products and the products will be released seasonally. This means they will come out when the new adverts come out.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 07/03/2025 20:46

I would guess it is quite cheap to film, so why not?
Because it risks putting off subscribers. It's putting me off.

Will be interesting to see if she has guests on in the second part of the season

Imagine being one of those guest, knowing you've filmed it and waiting for it to come out.

BemusedAmerican · 07/03/2025 20:53

The weird thingvis that malls are dying. I have not been to one in a decade.

I wonder if the split season was decided to enable the products to finally get on the shelves somewhere?

OP posts:
AtIusvue · 07/03/2025 21:15

The split is because NF said they are releasing the products ‘seasonally’

Which just means they release new products wirh the new infomercials

TheMeasure · 07/03/2025 21:15

OK, so I read all the reviews on here and have followed all the threads but someone pointed out to me that I really should form my own opinion by actually watching the show.
I tried - I really tried but I could only make it 3/4 of the way through Episode One and I used fast-forward a bit too.
Not for me, thanks, and I'm someone who drinks in "Rich Women Doing Stuff in Nice Houses" with Real Housewives (of BH).
But one of the things that's really pissing me off about all this is to see Meghan poncing around a TV studio thanking "everyone" for all the support and saying how "loved" she feels.
Is she reading different reviews to the rest of the world?

AtIusvue · 07/03/2025 21:27

From Netflix :

‘For those looking to try some of Meghan and her guests’ favorite recipes and crafts at home, check out our collection of some of the show’s how-tos here. Plus, now you can use products personally developed by Meghan for her lifestyle brand, As ever. Launching this spring, it showcases a collection of items like the aforementioned flower sprinkles, teas, and baking mixes that will change seasonally.’

So it’s just limited edition products- designed to be offloaded through these adverts. It’s not a long term sustainable business.

It’s the last chance for NF to make some money out of them.

Fourecks · 07/03/2025 21:38

@BemusedAmerican posted a link in the last thread to a Martha Stewart recipe that pre-dates the Anna Jones one.

The recipe was originally posted in 2013 but was updated on Feb 5 this year. It's good practice to update webpages to keep them high up in search results, so it may be a coincidence. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was updated to include the words "The original and the best!" that are now at the top!

Fillybuster · 07/03/2025 21:46

Ah, the sunny uplands of Thread #7! Thank you @TheWayTheLightFalls: title made me giggle and the horrific ear worm will be over in a flash, given how fast these threads are filling up. A Friday night spate of posts from the Hardcore Megan Supporters Group, interlaced with a flurry of discussion on some arcane aspect of US living, and we should be done by tomorrow afternoon at the outside, right?

@AtIusvue I reckon seasonal / short term availability products make way more sense than a permanent product line. NF must know that even the “I saw them comings” aren’t going to buy a $25 crappy crepe mix more than once: small volumes of stock offer the potential to pretend there is actual demand (“our first batch of not-really-jam sold out in less than 2 hours, so don’t wait”) and avoid running into the TKMaxx outlet risk someone mentioned previously. Also, who wants a warehouse full of unsold As Ever edible flowers with a blindingly short use-by date?

I give it less than a decade before we get MM on I’m a Celebrity…..
