BBC News item was fairly anodyne, although the presenter's face at the end of the item was a picture.

Feeling very irritated about MM correcting MK about her name being Sussex. Considering she can't be bothered to call Catherine by her preferred name, and the entire press corp both sides of the Atlantic call her "Kate Middleton", MM is having a laugh if she thinks anyone will start calling her Meghan Sussex.

I haven't watched, and won't, but this thread is great, and thanks to those that have viewed what sounds like utter crap. You have saved me the bother!! Had a hard day at work and this was very light relief.

To me it's as if she's playing at being business woman and presenter.

It's all a bit Jane Asher meets QVC if she is flogging cake mixes (though the Jane Asher packet mixes you can pick up in Home Bargains...... other discount stores are available).

And as one reviewer said, that is the sort of language that is really going to appeal to a parent getting the 6AM bus to work. Even if is wasn't exactly what she meant, if "present" is some sort of Cali therapy speak thing, it badly risks coming over as "I am a better mother than you because I have the time, money and headspace to arrange bits of fruit for my kids breakfast".

So many don't, even if they'd like to. Aspirational doesn't work if it makes you feel inadequate.

I hope the Italians make a statement denouncing the skillet pasta dish.

In order to define a product as a jelly, jam or preserve, one rule is that it must contain a certain amount of sugar by weight. If there is less sugar in a fruit spread, that means that it won’t meet the FDA’s definition of “jelly” or “jam.” That’s why Smucker′s Natural Fruit Spreads products have “fruit spread” in the name, because they don′t contain enough sugar by that standard. Other products on the market may not meet the standards of identity requirements for different reasons, such as using a kind of fruit that doesn′t qualify.

That's a bit unfair on Jane Asher! At least she wrote several recipe books before selling out!
(The name Jane Asher has a triggering effect on me. When I was eleven, my mum and our neighbour made a Jane Asher cake for the husband's 40th which was a swimming pool full of naked woman. 11 year old me had to watch them making boobs and nipples out of fondant icing at the kitchen table. I was horrified.)

I've watched bits of it because I love styling my home with flowers and lovely table-scapes when I have visitors. I haven't learned anything yet though and in fact, almost everything I've seen has been done to death on IG and Pinterest for the last 10-15 years eg the edible flowers sprinkled in drinks and on food, the mason jars (OK we used jam jars!), the sprigs of lavender and rosemary, beeswax candles, arranging chopped fruit in rainbows etc etc.

Meghan's flower arranging left me agog as she doesn't even do the basic flower care properly! As for the balloon arch...so tacky! It's all reminiscent of wannabe celebrity Pippa Middleton's pathetic stab at being an influencer by stating the obvious and copying other people's ideas.

The gushing compliments to Meghan almost had me heaving but maybe that's more acceptable to an American audience. Overall, what I've seen is lightweight, superficial and lacking in authenticity, much like...

If she can't call her fruit spreads Jam , then it makes a bit of a mockery of her saying Jam is my Jam

She did look lovely in a polka dot navy and white halter neck dress I saw on one episode where she was demonstrating how to wrap a present.

She does look good in a halter neck.
In fact I liked her outfits in general in the series, she, and the house, looked lovely.
