Thank you, Words!

Someone on the previous thread asked whether Meghan could perhaps launch cookies with a 'regal theme'.

Problem with a regal theme is that Meghan has bravely rejected the regal life, stating outright and by implication/through 'academic' talking heads that the Royal Family refused to help her at her lowest, laughed in the face of her suicidality, fed her to wolves (but not before stealing her passport and making her live in substandard accommodation with dodgy flooring), insulted her children, refused her lip balm for her chapped kissers, and are, moreover, racist and colonialist.

If a celeb is going to associate their name with a particular foodstuff, we need to believe at least on some level that the celeb in question might occasionally eat that foodstuff themselves. I am sure that Meghan would never sully her lips with any sustenance that had even the slightest connection with her evil torturers.

Also, there's Duchy Originals.

Sod the cake mixes - what I want to know is why the hell some available products couldn't have been sorted out for when the show's aired

With Netflix supposedly backing it I'd have thought they could provide someone with the expertise to get this across the line, so now I'm wondering if they've deliberately left it to Meghan knowing she'd make a hash of it, as further justification for not renewing the contract

Yes , where are the products?
Aro launched ages ago , where are those products?

God that was so funny and true @GiveMeSpanakopita !

Along with the Welsh cakes a Spanakopita recipe most welcome. I made them once and it took all day! Maybe I can make them from a packet Shock

Duchy Originals are good ( slightly misses point)

@jeffgoldblum I have also been in the same position getting things from the US shipped over and paying an absolute fortune! Been there, felt your pain!!
Even now, I pay over the odds for some American pancake syrup and for peanut butter M&Ms!!

MummyJ12 · 27/02/2025 15:17

Thanks for the new thread @Words.

I very rarely cba to make spanakopita or the (better) feta version. Not even at Greek Orthodox Easter! I just wait/hope for people to give them to me....hence my username :-)

I'm remembering now that in one of her original filings (possibly for ARO) Meghan also stated a possible intent to merch branded clothing - aprons and the like. I wonder if that avenue is now closed off to her due to the clothing brand, As Ever.

Shame if so - she might actually be in with a chance of making a sustainable profit margin with clothes, as she definitely won't make one with jam.

MummyJ12 · 27/02/2025 15:23

It’s apparently not quite the same @Words unfortunately DS has very specific tastes and it has to be the Pearl Milling Co. Although, it probably works out at the same price as good quality maple syrup.

Words · 27/02/2025 15:29

A refined palate @MummyJ12 !

But yes a pain to source

I was on X earlier and came across this squaddie thread. If I didn’t think they were crazy before, I really do now. Who keeps an open bottle of champagne for weeks?!!! Hours, absolutely, keeping it for days, err ok if you must. But weeks?!😂😂😂 Enough said. I rest my case. Completely bonkers. (They had tried the heart shaped strawberries and someone asked what they’d had with them!)

What will they do if As Ever and the TV series flop? What do they have left career and earning wise?

It's rubbish isn't it?
It used to be ok years ago, the price difference and Amazon made it easier and not too expensive, now I really have to think about it !
My son is into something called BFDI ( battle for dream island) it's a cartoon, the official plushie are so expensive, I had to get Chinese knock offs from eBay!

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 27/02/2025 15:39

Hours @MummyJ12 , at a push.

It's lucky it's not burning a whole in my fridge after a day! 🤣🤣

I don't understand - or have I missed it - why "With Love, Meghan" hasn't been patented? Surely that's the brand name you want to tie in for a product line and get some higher value clothing/homewares on the market, not pancake mix? The name has probably been nicked by someone else now. This series has been filming since at least Spring, and must have had a working title, so why hasn't this all been thought through?

MaggieMistletoe · 27/02/2025 15:45

I don't understand how strawberries cut into hearts are 'elevated'. It makes me think of something easy and fun you'd churn out for a kids birthday party perhaps. Perhaps it's going to be quite child orientated this show?

If I was at an all-adults thing I would judge it really naff to have strawberries cut into hearts, put if it was a children's birthday party then fair enough, it's just being fun. Although I'm not sure all kids would even recognise them as hearts to be honest.

Also, I know its for a US audience but we are way off strawberry season in the UK and the out of season strawberries do not taste good and will have been gassed with chemicals to preserve while they are flown in from overseas. So not very eco either, although thankfully strawberries do not require a private jet like the duchess of monte.

MrsLeonFarrell · 27/02/2025 15:49

Basically 'elevated' means messed around with, or in other words, I touched everything on your plate.

MummyJ12 · 27/02/2025 15:50

The Duchess of monte is brilliant! @MaggieMistletoe 😂

Could be the new man from Del Monte!
@NotaRealHousewife I think we have the answer to your question. She’s going to appear in adverts for tinned fruit. The Duchess of monte, she say yes!!

NotaRealHousewife · 27/02/2025 15:52

We shall await the arrival of the Panama hat!

No idea, I'm not a patent attorney. I think it would be almost impossible to patent a phrase like 'with love' even with the addition of a name after it.

However I have just been informed by a more knowledgeable colleague that the reason why she had to drop plans to sell clothing under the As Ever brand is because there's already a very large Chinese fast fashion company called ASEVER.

Or maybe it means that everything is done from, or at, a height.

Honey is poured from a 50 cm elevation. Heart shaped strawberries will be placed into a hot air balloon and floated aloft. Meghan and Harry will be shown enjoying avocado and tomato ladybird bruschette whilst perched atop a climbing frame.

It would certainly be different and unique. She could partner with elevator manufacturing behemoth Otis and have her grinning mug laminated into the wall of every elevator in the land.

So, not only has she touched everything on my plate, she also dropped it from height? Yum.
