Where's Doria?

She used to attended public social events with H&M - cant remember the last one? She always comes across as classy and calm - I wonder how she deals with it all? Think she had a tough enoughh time in her early marriage to an older man with difficult teenage step children. Do we know if she remarried or had a partner after Thomas?

How can old people's care be entertainment ?

Whilst mum was at home we would pay someone to come into her and sit and chat watch TV etc spend time with her so I could do shopping/sleep etc. She was totally unqualified as mum didn't actually need medical help but a companion so she didn't wander off. We often joked of it as her entrainment package.

Samcro · 24/02/2025 09:22

a lot of reaching here to make Doria(not Doris) sound bad.
I suppose it must be a shock that she is not cashing in like most relations of royal marry ins.

BustingBaoBun · 24/02/2025 10:27

Your ad hominem attack on me is predictable. My post is about protecting data should anyone be tempted to give information to the link on the website of a corporate entity. Don't you believe in internet safety?

How pompous, it's nothing to do with 'internet safety' ... why on earth would I (or anyone on MN unless they had a hidden agenda) want to register interest in a care home in the US ... it's just to try and do a gotcha on someone's Mother who has kept a low profile and really doesn't deserve this. Bizarre.
But you are being a dutiful citizen warning anyone on here not to do it... okey dokey, thanks for the warning, I won't register !

Funny how posters seize upon an easy win: I was joking when I mentioned Mildred Pierce as an example of mother/daughter friction. I’m sure I could find some real life examples if it suits. It is near-on 100% that the “child” bleeds the parent dry and the parent keeps coming back for more because, well, that’s what parents do.

Poor old Joan Crawford… actually, her (adopted) daughter did make money out of her (as pp mentions) with the Mommie Dearest memoir. Her other dcs dispute its stories.

(Off topic, but Betty and Joan is an excellent watch!)

My fave is actually Bette Davis !

@BustingBaoBun You do realise that it's not just the British who read this website, don't you? And several British people have signed up to ARO/As Ever (US entities) out of curiosity, and now cannot unsubscribe and can't find any recourse for this. So yes, I am happy to have given the warning about data protection.

So our American friends who are on MN might well be registering their interest in that particular care home over there. 😱 Why don't you contact the home direct and present your case in the interests of 'internet safety' ?

Anyway, you have provided a service and I hope our readers are grateful for that.

Jamismyjammytodger · 24/02/2025 11:20

🙄Have you not read what I said? There's no way of contacting them, other than submitting personal data in a form for a "consultation". And I don't know where my data will end up if I do try that method. But if you trust them, please be my guest and contact them and tell them they are being unfairly critiqued on Mumsnet.

Haha as if! I'm not the slightest bit interested in a care home in the United States. And they won't be interested in us, it's all very irrelevant.
I'm sure they have a phone number if you find the need pressing.

its very odd that people are so interested in some random care home.

Spectre8 · 24/02/2025 12:27

She is 68 and retired from her social worker job. So who cares abojt this care agency? She isnt working anymore.

Testiclz · 24/02/2025 12:29

Maybe she will pop up in With Love Meghan. It would be nice to see her interacting as part of a warm extended family unit and enjoying her little grandchildren which is likely a stark contrast to her experience of single motherhood with a toddler.

To re-iterate what I've said a few times before, but which seems hard for some to understand...I'm not trying to say Doria is bad.

But neither do I see anything which merits putting her on a pedestal. She very sensibly keeps out of the public eye and therefore doesn't deserve criticism...but the projection I read about her being classy (whatever that means!) etc etc baffles me. She's Meghan's mother and we know next-to-nothing about her. Possibly Meghan exerts some control over her to keep it that way, or maybe it's her own preference.

But I understand why people focus on her because, to the average observer, Meghan's non-contact with not only her own family but Harry's too leaves Doria as the lone relative which H & M and their children have. That in itself begs questions, and given Meghan's record, I can understand why people might think 'When will the axe fall on Doria too?'

No I don't find the need pressing. In any case, I have looked, and once more, as you seem to not comprehend, there isn't one. It's not me who is determined to assert this is a legit company and that she's the "hired boss". Someone else called Orca made that assertion. I think it's a shell company, which is what I said originally.

It's not a random care home. It's listed on Dora's wikipedia page and in several articles as her enterprise/place of employment as a CEO/CFO, and the company registration documents support this. I can't see anything that supports the assertion she is retired.

But Samcro why does it matter??

What gives you the right to speculate about a private individual who is not a celebrity and just getting on with their life.

How would you feel if I found out your real name and made lots of speculations about your private life based on what I found online?

This is just a horrible trashy thread. It is inviting comments of the lowest common denominator kind. Just awful.

Jamismyjammytodger · 24/02/2025 14:25

Well since I am actually a private individual, don't have a wikipedia page, don't attend star studded events with my very famous daughter, don't hang out with VIPs like Chris Jenner, haven't appeared on a Netflix "documentary", am not on public record as being a CEO/CFO for a corporate entity, and don't run a website for that corporate entity, you wouldn't find out a whole lot - and I doubt anyone would be interested in what you did find. Take it up with any or all of the above who put Doria's name and activities into the public sphere.

DuchessDissasster · 24/02/2025 14:31

@JoyousGreyOrca this is not the first people have heard about this. It's out there. It may be the first time it's been discussed here or the first time you have seen it . I seem to recollect that anyone loosely connected to the Royal Family is fair game on this board. You are entitled to your opinions but hey ho. I'm sure you didn't mean to sound like a wannabe stalker in your post but it certainly gave me an uncomfortable feeling. 😬

BustingBaoBun · 24/02/2025 14:41

I don't think anyone wants to take up anything about Doria. Except you. She's a private individual, keeping her head down, she doesn't deserve this forensic examination of every single thing she does. It's uninteresting and irrelevant.

You obviously feel differently.

DuchessDissasster · 24/02/2025 14:50

@BustingBaoBun again there is a great deal out there on this subject. It's not just here on this thread.

BustingBaoBun · 24/02/2025 14:53

Okaaaay.... that is hinting at something nefarious.
AFAIC she is a private individual and I'm really not interested. I feel this thread is unfair. That's my opinion anyway.

Are you Samcro? Otherwise your comment makes zero sense?

There is all kinds of terrible things on the internet and some awful forums. Does that really make it okay to bring this behaviour here?

Jamismyjammytodger · 24/02/2025 15:14

Why do you keep referring to Samcro @JoyousGreyOrca ?

I have done nothing to warrant your somewhat overwrought reaction. I have looked at wikipedia, corporate/legally mandated filings and a website that you - yes you - linked, along with your claim about Doria being "the boss" of the subject company of that website. I have written nothing but factual information lifted from those publicly available sources, including the one that you linked.

JoyousGreyOrca · 24/02/2025 15:21

@Jamismyjammytodger I replied to Samcro ONCE.
I then had a reply from another name answering as if she was Samcro replying to my comment. I was confused and asked if she was Samcro.

And I am confused about your comment as well. Originally when I quoted your comment it said Samcro made the comment, but now the name has changed.

I do not understand what is going on, or if the MN site has a glitch which is causing it to behave strangely?

DuchessDissasster · 24/02/2025 15:26

@JoyousGreyOrca there's nothing wrong with the site. There is nothing confusing about posts.

I commented about what you were saying

"How would you feel if I found out your real name and made lots of speculations about your private life based on what I found online?" To @Jamismyjammytodger . It sounded a bit stalkery and weird but as I said I'm sure you didn't mean it to come across that way !

JoyousGreyOrca · 24/02/2025 15:29

@DuchessDissasster I replied to Samcro and the name has since changed.
How do you know there is nothing with the site? No one here does unless they work for MNHQ.
You know it was an example I gave. What people are doing on this thread to Doria is in your own words, stalkerish.
