Meghan has renamed her luxury lifestyle brand 'As Ever'.

'As Ever essentially means as it's always been, and if you've followed me since 2014 with The Tig, you know I've always loved cooking and crafting and gardening — this is what I do,' she said. '

@Janiie and @jeffgoldblum

I think Prince Andrew is fast becoming the Godwin's Law of RF / H&M threads .😁

So are H&M planning to sue the pants off this brand now?

They're publicising their stuff all the time, in a very cheesy way

Of course but imo they aren't doing things any different to plenty of others in the public eye. I agree they are pretty cheesy!

It will attract comment.

Comment is fine & expected and as I said I would agree with some of the criticisms but I don't see threads about other famous people in quite the same way. It just seems relentless and some seem very invested.

You do know we aren't in their back garden with binoculars don't you?

Plenty would be if they could though! 😆

NotaRealHousewife · 18/02/2025 17:57

@Spectre8 Who said I was bothered, I asked a question?

You really need to calm down love

Grimshadylady · 18/02/2025 17:58

I never said the British Media controls the US media. The US articles that criticise them are ALWAYS linked back to the UK media - someone who is a British correspondent or who formerly worked in the British media. ALWAYS, ALWAYS a link. Fact.

Not the US media, the articles that pop up in the US is written by or associated with someone with links to the UK media.

Meghan and Harry do not care for the British media, if they did, they would be behaving differently. They do care! The US market and the rest of the world are HUGE and they are liked regardless of what you want to tell yourself.

The criticisms are the same old nonsense. Unhinged and predictable. Everything they do, there are certain people who will scream and go frantic. It is boring and predictable. Yet here they are, still married, still millionaires, still with loyal friends, still with their two kids. How is your life compared to theirs? They don't know you and they don't care.

I think the revolving door is a bit congested tonight. Much flouncing.

I don't think they have the trademark, but I'm not sure where I read that so it may be wrong.

She has applied for the trademark but it hasn't been granted.

NotaRealHousewife · 18/02/2025 18:01

Just to clarify, we are only allowed to discuss people that know us? MN will be done within the week

I was just thinking that only on the H/M threads do you get people proclaiming "why do you care?" when they clearly care very much themselves.

It's odd. I've not seen it anywhere else.

I like people watching. I'm fascinated.

Grimshadylady · 18/02/2025 17:13

Really, gosh that's not what the evidence shows. I've spent several minutes engaging on this and I feel exhausted and that I have wasted my time. Open up the DailyMail and there are about a zillion articles and the comments are in the thousands. Everywhere you turn today, the media of all types have article upon article analysing the same thing. Go on X and the same people going nuts. This is just not normal. It just isn't a normal way of scrutinising and criticising. It is a very evident obsession and is a "Thing" and has been a "Thing" for some people for years.

I don't want to get dragged into this nonsense so that's me done on this. I generally give this Meghan bashing a wide berth but was curious what the hullabaloo was this time. I did a search and realise all online newspapers are talking about a video that a woman in the US, who left the UK many years ago, did (and the video is not even aimed at the UK as we are probably not her target audience).

Feel free to flounce.

jeffgoldblum · 18/02/2025 18:02

Do I need to repost my little explanation again! 🤣

NotaRealHousewife · 18/02/2025 18:02

@MargaretThursday it's very entertaining

wooliegloves · 18/02/2025 18:03

Hate ?
Bingo !

Well it is hate imo because it seems so disproportionate.

I assume there will be another delay to the launch seeing as she has more or less stolen the new logo so presumably can't use it?

For example the above. Did she actually steal the logo? Or did it coincidentally look like something else? Does it actually matter? The name doesn't bother me but I thought the Riveria name was too long. But again does it matter? I'm not the target audience & I
won't be buying jam so why the need to critique supply chains & launch dates 😆

MrsLeonFarrell · 18/02/2025 18:04

I just went back to check. She says she hasn't been able to do these things for the past few years. I know The Mail is calling they a dig at the Royal family but she hasn't been in the family for five years. I don't think it's a dig at them.

But I do wonder what's been stopping her from doing this? I suppose she can hardly say "everything else has flopped so we're back to The Tig folks".

wooliegloves · 18/02/2025 18:06

Just to clarify, we are only allowed to discuss people that know us? MN will be done within the week

Do you not think the MNs threads that are the most emotional, personal, hurt etc are very much the threads about the actions of family or friends hence why the OP is so upset.

So you're not interested in anything for which you are not the target audience? That just makes you intellectually incurious, not morally superior.

If you don't think any of this matters why have you posted so many times on this thread?

Nobody owes you an explanation for why they are discussing the subject of the thread, your tedious attempts at derailing aside.

NotaRealHousewife · 18/02/2025 18:08

@wooliegloves why does everything have to be emotional and personal?

People talk about fashion, books, cars in fact all sorts it topics

GlitchStitch · 18/02/2025 18:09

What would happen to the other business that's called As Ever if Meghan gets the trademark? Would they have to change their name?

IcedPurple · 18/02/2025 18:11

DuchessDissasster · 18/02/2025 18:07

@IcedPurple here you go

Thanks. So the trademark is 'pending' and there's no guarantee of it being granted?

'As Ever' is a rather generic phrase. Can you really trademark a phrase in the English language? If it was 'As Ever Meghan' then it would be easier.

And again, advertising a line two weeks before launch with no trademark and seemingly no products is risky.

wooliegloves · 18/02/2025 18:12

If you don't think any of this matters why have you posted so many times on this thread?

You misunderstand. I don't think it matters what jam she makes but I do think it matters how she is criticised so much & I do find the way she triggers some quite fascinating & intriguing as to what motivates that.

This is an open forum so I can post what I like & you can ignore me...
