I don't recall Meghan kissing Harry like it either.

Yes she has done it before. It works well as the person with their hands on someone’s face is the focus of the photo (so job done).

The woman is a human bingo card. I predict seal clapping, talking to herself, head thrown back and forth in exaggerated laughing, many many clothes changes (but not a single Invictus t shirt), and another speech Bingo!

Lindy2 · 09/02/2025 09:29

Invictus used to be really well respected. I always got the impression Harry genuinely cared that the veterans had something specifically for them and to honour what they endure.

It doesn't need razzmatazz. It doesn't need kisses and inane grinning at every photo opportunity. Sadly the actual intention seems to have been pushed sideways in favour of personal publicity.

Vespanest · 09/02/2025 09:36

I think the ship has sailed with changing the PR narrative, for Meghan I think she is doing the right thing by just embracing any media good and bad. The show is next month she hasn't got the time for crisis management. She has very little to loose so if she attracts more viewers for Netflix as gawkers then that is better than the shit show that was Polo. As to why Harry puts up with it, he's the bloke who thought Polo was a money spinner and Putin would spill the tea.

The wrong emotion has been selected, there’s been a glitch in the matrix!

The more the years roll on and her behaviour never changes the more I believe she is an android and her programme doesn’t allow for any changes. There is of course the odd glitch which is when she becomes particularly manic (see instagram Billie Eilish video). Otherwise it’s press the on switch and off she goes.

But would she listen @IAmATorturedPoet ?

There has to be a first time for everything Grin

It’s quite strange for a woman in her forties with two children to be trying desperately to behave as if she’s a 19 year old ingenue influencer. She appears to have absolutely no ability to self reflect, grow and change. She really is like an android.

MrsFinkelstein · 09/02/2025 09:55

As a pp said - I dont really care who is paying for the private flights, £5k/night hotel suite and multiple daily glamour outfits for Meghan. As long as it's not Invictus.

I assume Harry is doing the luge at some point (whether he wants to or not, now 🤪).

Just a quick glimpse at her IG story - I'd like to have seen more of a focus on the Games and the veterans, but I suppose it is her own personal account, so she can post herself all she likes.

Can someone please get this woman a stylist please! Stat! Not one decent, put together look in sight.

I think the expressions of the woman in the wheelchair and the folk in the background show clearly their thoughts on the pantomime.

She just hasn't learned anything the photo of her with her head on his shoulder (not unlike one the Wales' published several months ago) and grabbing his face to kiss him are just so cringey and completely inappropriate

Wow that’s a terrible photo! I hope she actually asked permission to grab on to the wheelchair. That woman looks seriously unhappy!

FromTheOfficeOfJammyTodger · 09/02/2025 10:11

I just can't help thinking of this clip linked below. If Harry was John Lennon, getting the chance to jam with his hero, the great Chuck Berry - who represents an exasperated Invictus - then Meghan is Yoko. No reason to be there at all as a non-musician, but desperate for all eyes to be on her - and wow!

Meghan, be less Yoko, for the sake of Invictus and Chuck, I implore you! 🐉

It’s difficult to tell, even from the video where she pulls the chair back quite a long way, if she is moving the lady with her permission or not. It may be that she (Meghan) had bumped in to the chair and knocked it forwards and so was pulling it back. Even so, she should have spoken to the lady and asked if it was ok to move her. You wouldn’t yank someone backwards who was on their feet. Just because someone is in a wheelchair doesn’t mean you can move them around like a piece of furniture.
I’m trying to be fair to Meghan as the video doesn’t show any context but I really hope she didn’t just move the lady to allow Harry to get to her 🤷‍♀️

She's said she wants to be known for her "playfulness". Maybe she gets that mixed up with childishness/teen behaviour? Sticking her tongue out at formal events, the "Your Maaaaagesty" fake curtesy, shaking her little pom poms at at the ice hockey and just having to give "my husband" - in case we forget who he is - a big smoocheroonie...

IcedPurple · 09/02/2025 10:22

It's odd how often they willingly leave their small children to travel to another country. I don't have kids, but the parents I know hate leaving their children and only do so when it's really necessary. Obviously Harry needs to be at the IG but Meghan really doesn't. It has nothing to do with her. Or if they both wanted to go, why not bring the children? They certainly have the resources to rent out an apartment and bring the nanny if they wanted. Also, from what I hear, these events are family friendly and surely Archie at least would be old enough to enjoy some of the activities?

NotaRealHousewife · 09/02/2025 10:25

I just want to say to her " oh sit on your arse and behave yourself"

Not2identifying · 09/02/2025 10:27

I will try to be fair.

She hasn't worn Invictus clothing but what she has worn has been relatively plain rather than obviously showy.

Erm. That's all I've got.

Not2identifying · 09/02/2025 10:28

They wouldn't be nearly as entertaining if they behaved like traditional dignified royals.

Wearing a head to toe white ensemble and a luxury white coat ensures she stands out from the crowd when everyone else appears to be wearing black/dark casual sports wear. Easily spotted by her film crew.

Serenster · 09/02/2025 10:39

Easily spotted by her film crew.

That had me curious too - her instagram reel shows that someone’s been following Meghan around taking clips of what she does to put together for a reel. Making it pretty plain that she sees this as a great opportunity to focus on herself.

She just seems a bit unhinged at this point. Randomly laughing and seal clapping when nobody else around her is, waving pom-poms. It's like she doesn't know how to act like a normal human. It would be just a bit cringe if it wasn't for the fact that the veterans are being completely removed from the narrative by her nonsense word salad.

She's done this before at an event, there was footage where she used someone in a wheelchair as a prop from a photo, then just walked off, didn't even exchange a word with them.

I do believe she really doesn’t have the ability to self reflect and grow. Her brain is wired in such a way that it is literally impossible for her to grow as a human being. Her wiring is such that she doesn’t suffer from shame or embarrassment, why she can still go on stage and make inane speeches and doesn’t just stick an Invictus t shirt on and blend in. She’d make an extraordinary case study because I’ve never seen anyone like her (and that’s not a compliment).

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 09/02/2025 10:55

I know that no one on Mumsnet has a good word to say for Trump, but he did the RF and Britain a great favour by not pursuing the extradition. I can believe he has much time for thé self absorbed twit who currently occupies the Throne, but he had great admiration and respect for our late Queen ( unlike her grandson and his wife).

And walked right past someone in a wheelchair without a shred of acknowledgement when she was leaving after the fires visit. No doubt because she’d ‘clocked off’, he didn’t exist to her. My opinion.

MM must be reeling from his comments about her though on the eve of Invictus - even if you despise Trump - to have the most powerful and listened to man in the world make derrogatory comments about you and your marriage to the global media is brutal.

OMG that really could be Meghan! She is the Yoko Ono to Invictus! Someone with know-how should do a meme or something with her face over Yoko’s!
