I agree with the first part, but has it been shown that they're spending Invictus funds on themselves?

Just listened. Cringe factor fairly high but not disastrous. If I were their PR adviser, (thank goodness I'm not) I'd say: M introduces H on day 1 wearing unflashy outfit and with A & L; no in-day outfit changes; from day 2, wear jeans/trousers and Invictus fleece/T-shirt, stay off the stage, move around the audience by yourself, H to do the same, and have conversations with team members from different countries so it's about them not MeMe; on the final day - H & M on stage for farewell, M to remain silent. I would expect every single piece of advice to be ignored.

i just saw a photo of her kissing Harry on stage, cupping his face in her hands, its so unnatural and absurd. I think she is reenacting some movie script or other.

If she hadn't planned on speaking, when was it arranged? 3 minutes before the opening, did Harry just spring it on her?
Edited to add - was Harry just going to walk on the stage with no announcement or was the person who was meant to introduce him pushed out?

Because she is nothing to do with Invictus ! If she has to go then sit in the front row and ( seal) clap .

It felt like Harry was about to receive a life long achievement award and not the opening of a games to celebrate veterans. She reduced the veterans and the games as a mere vessel for the world to see how amazing Prince Harry is at "helping" to make pack his own children's lunches and how utterly un feminist to believe that is somehow an achievement

@Stickystickysticky - Good point. I would have thought a senior member of Invictus would have been more appropriate - but who knows who decided it should be M. One thing I do think is that it was decided more than 3 mins in advance . That did not come over as an off the cuff speech to me.

Just odd that anyone would care. I guess you care about other organised events and who is standing on the stage too, and this is your thing to care about.

I care about lots of things including the Veterans who Meghan glossed over in her “ totally spontaneous “ speech .

But on previous threads there were a lot of people saying they shouldn’t take their children.

Or maybe... here's a thought...he could have introduced the Games himself, without any kind of introduction about whose husband and father he is etc....and made it all about the veterans!

It's not about "winning" or "losing", surely?
They promote themselves, their lives and their marriage. They want the clicks, the pictures, the headlines. Fine, that's their choice. However, people always comment on "celebrities" like this. That's what fame is.
