Invictus 2025

And as I’ve said and will keep saying, Invictus isn’t Harry’s to pass on. It is a public entity, a UK registered charity. This is very different from a US charitable foundation. Harry has no more ownership of it than you or me.

They'll fight tooth and claw for it though, as Archie's "right". It's very important to them for their quasi royal status. What else do they have? It does the job of getting the pictures and the headlines. They'll never give it up.

I wonder if it will ever get to the point where it’s taken from them. Surely the leadership team at Invictus can see that Harry isn’t the best fit for them going forward if Invictus is to survive long term.

It's damaging, isn't it? It's just the Harry and Meghan show, with all the performative canoodling.
They're just desperate to be seen to be Royal.

@Thedom - Sorry Sorry - cross posted

We hit post at the same time @BasiliskStare 😀

If these weird performances and the excessive coverage of someone not even officially involved with the IG doesn't give someone high up pause, I don't know what will. It isn't just the odd picture that could be out of context, there is so, so much.

I do think it would be a battle to achieve removal, though.

Thedom · 10/02/2025 11:42

Look at that photo of Harry, clearly a man under enormous pressure. I honestly believe the revelations of the divorce book has shattered him more than anything else so far.

jeffgoldblum · 10/02/2025 11:46

Why , oh why can't they just turn up and behave like normal human beings!

We are asked why we criticise these two so much ?

Well this is why , every time they pop up it's just one cock up after another!

I said before that had Meghan turned up , wore invictus clothing and stayed in the background supporting Harry , it would have a gone a long way to help her image .

I was told that a Meghan shouldn't have to pander to my advice, so as I said then .... no she does not but the resulting criticism will be on her own head .

Well here we are!

I agree, it’s wouldn’t be pretty. I just hope that he doesn’t destroy the one good thing he has going for him because of his ego.

It’s also been noted that Meghan has been nowhere near the Nigerian team. You’d have thought she would be cheering them on with her strong links to the country…..

Stickystickysticky · 10/02/2025 11:56

I can understand Harry being miffed at Trumps dig at Meghan but to use the IG to have a dig back is just awful , Trumps opinion has nothing to do with the veterans and to use this platform to clap back at him is so self centred.

BasiliskStare · 10/02/2025 11:59

I think if the veterans and volunteers start saying they don't want the H&M show then surely that should give the organisers pause for thought

If just Harry turned up then I don't think there would be nearly as much criticism , but would he go without M if asked ( firmly but nicely ) . And if he won't then some of the organisers must have - or have had small children where they've had to deliver the "I'm sorry I took that away from you but you couldn't be trusted to play nicely"

I think the fellows in leadership team who could see that were shown the door.

KingTutting · 10/02/2025 12:25

They don’t have good advisors. It’s their greatest failing. Although you’d think they would have become somewhat self aware to stop with the designer gear and stick some branded clothing on once.

The whole passing it on thing is just another example of their mixed messages. Don’t they want children to have normal lives with real jobs. Although when you still call them Prince/princess that’s not really on the cards is it.

I doubt it. Veterans and volunteers don't have much power in the organisation.

It's the wealthy sponsors like Boeing who are likely calling the shots, and they're probably happy enough to have Harry and the publicity he draws.

This. If Harry could reset to being the face of Invictus on his own I think it’s redeemable. He could remain the asset that he’s been to date. I even think he could bring the children when they’re old enough to understand what the IG is all about. If he insists on involving Meghan, who adds nothing, requiring an introduction as though he’s the main event and making petulant speeches about his personal bugbears then it’s game over.

No, their greatest failing is that they don't listen to advice, however expert and constructive.

Well, maybe not their greatest failing. But one of them!

Agree it was a poor show and just shows how thin skinned the pair of them are

No, they don't want their children to have normal jobs. Hence the insistence that they are Prince and Princess - in spite of the lies she told on Oprah.
I would imagine that they intend to continue to act as quasi royals, monetise his connections, and raise the children in a similar, entitled vein.

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 10/02/2025 12:42

I really don’t like Trump, and I get that his comment about Meghan was crappy. But Harry should have been the bigger person and rose above it. The IG and similar should really be above politics, it’s about the service personnel and veterans. He needs to remember that some of these competitors will have voted for Trump.

jeffgoldblum · 10/02/2025 12:44

I sincerely hope not @FenellaFeldman !
Those poor children, already being brought up in a country where royal titles are not recognised, Harry already slipping further from the monarchy.
By the time his children are grown the titles their parents foisted on them will be utterly worthless.
