Thing is, all this could have been prevented if Harry had listened to his brother and his friends in the first place. They knew she was a wrong 'un from the start.

another website I frequent (wont make it as I dont want to cause a fit of the vapours round here) puts that down to Harry being, as they put it "cuntstruck". think there is something to that.

Or maybe just in love? Think I prefer that term to ‘cuntstruck’ 🤮

Whatever 'in love' means.

Thing is, he barely knew her. They got engaged after what was really an extended holiday romance. If you prefer a less crude term, maybe we can say he was infatuated?

But the whole point of 'Cuntstruck' is that it's not love, it's the other thing. Come on, even Tom Jones sings about it in Sexbomb 😂

No don't get me wrong ain't gonna do you no harm (no)
This bomb's for lovin' and you can shoot it far
I'm your main target come and help me ignite
Cuntstruck holding you tight.

Well it wasn't actually that, but it's what I used to sing 😂

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 18/01/2025 22:39

I believe reports are that palace staff referred to him as ‘Harry blow-job’ because he was so obsessed by Meghan. Make of that what you will.

Ahem - that’s really not the lyric! 🤣🤣

Serenster · 18/01/2025 22:44

Also, being in love and being sexually obsessed with someone aren’t mutually exclusive!

(and yes, I saw your post after I posted. It would probably have been banned by Radio 1 if it were true 🤣🤣 )

I'm not interested if that is true or not, it sort of sounds like a reverse of what the Sussex Squad does. But I do believe he was totally enchanted by the person she created for him.

It's just for fun. But whenever you hear that song now, you will use the naughty lyric.

friendlycat · 18/01/2025 22:58

Fundamentally they want different things. She adores fame and adulation, he wants a quieter life but is so used (understandably) to the royal mantle that he doesn’t have the equipment to deal with anything else.

I don’t negate his time in the army, but that would have been very structured and organised as well.

if they had left for America, done a positive OW interview, him published a book about his life in a positive light with interesting facts about being royal and his time in the army it would have all been so different. But to kick start their Stateside life with such negativity and venom it was never going to produce the golden ticket they dreamt of.

I also don’t underestimate how different and difficult it no doubt is for Harry living abroad, without his friendship group that seems to have been cut off, his family somewhat estranged and no focus. They obviously don’t listen to advice from professionals so just bump from one lacklustre project to the next.

Then there’s the lavish lifestyle that constantly needs to be paid for without an obvious income stream. Harry is so far removed from understanding this as all his life he’s just had money delivered year on year via his father.

Then how do you form meaningful connections and friendships in their new location? Who do you trust, there’s no historical friendships, and actually what do you have in common with Alist celebrities who have honed their craft whether in acting, entertainment, music etc. They’ve gained their multi millions from sheer hard work.

The wheels are coming off the bus and have been pretty much since their own enforced separation from the UK and his royal life. It’s also hugely hypocritical that she has been so critical about many aspects of royal life and its workings, yet they’re adamant they want the titles and prestige and fame that being royals bring.

But this latest shot across the bows from America just reinforces what was being reported in the UK previously. She’s obviously a tricky character, he’s naive and not very bright and their future just looks less and less rosy and actually rather sad.

I used to have a real soft spot for Harry, I was so positive about both of them when they got together, was really positive about Meghan all the way until Oprah, I still remember my sister and I, both of us very positive about H&M, sitting down with a glass of wine to watch Oprah. At the end of it we both said 'holy shit, what a nasty pair they turned out to be'.

So, hearing his wife may have been peddling a 'post divorce book' and seeing her figuring out how much it would earn her in a horrible mercenary way, takes me back to that feeling of having a real soft spot for him, and feeling so much sympathy for him if that is the life he is currently living. Haven't thought I would ever say this again but 'poor Harry'😟

Me too :(

Nah. 'Cuntstruck' is the right, if crude, adjective needed in this instance. It's the only thing capable of generating all those mad-making chemicals, which careered around Harry's baby brain, removing his already limited capacity for rational thought.

It’s not a nice term but it describes his relationship to her very aptly.

BreadInCaptivity · 19/01/2025 00:00

I've said on previous threads that the pair of them seem to be incapable of making strategic decisions to further their ambitions.

But it's almost worse than that is t it?

It's as if when any choice is made they seem hardwired into picking the option that undermines their credibility.

You'd have thought after the BP bullying allegations that M would be scrupulous in respect of her dealings with staff.

Yet allegedly not. Perhaps she thought NDA's would protect her or genuinely lacks insight into her own behaviours (or maybe both). Certainly the clapback after the HR article about the daily phone calls to a sick staff member indicates not care and/or compassion but gross overstepping and personal invasion into a persons non- working life.

It doesn't surprise me at all that H lacks awareness into the damage his interviews and book have done to his family relationships (because if he had he'd never of bloody done them) and sadly I don't think there is a route back for him. How could anyone possibly trust him again?

I remain absolutely baffled how two people who were gifted so much initial goodwill and opportunity have managed to piss it all away through their own machinations and still how many people seem to still think they are worthy of support/celebration.

I wouldn't want to taint any charity/project/business/award with association of either of them.

Vespanest · 19/01/2025 00:16

Reading the article again, it's easy for Harry to be the care free one and to follow on with song lyrics "If you called your dad he could stop it all" pulp. Financial harry knows that if the financial shit does hit the pan he'll be bailed out. It's why he is in shock that the book has had a long standing impact and in shock that his allowance (salary) stopped. But deep down he knows he'll never be broke, even if it mean swallowing his pride (arrogance).

friendlycat · 19/01/2025 00:19

@ BreadInCaptivity
You make good points about Meghan not adapting her behaviour following the original bullying allegations. But I would imagine that her personality doesn’t enable her to see different view points and perspectives. She is right, others are wrong and she doesn’t reflect on the wider impact of her behaviour.

There’s a common link in that they just won’t listen to professional advice or guidance and a blind belief that they know best, when clearly that’s just not true.

I doubt that even now with so much sourness towards them that they actually reflect and recognise their own mistakes. Sadly I would imagine that they feel that it’s all the fault of others and they’re misunderstood, victimised, have been treated unfairly etc etc etc.

But one thing is crystal clear, they have managed an extraordinary feat of turning so much goodwill towards them into a hotbed of negativity on a scale that’s quite frankly unbelievable. It’s gone so disastrously wrong when they really did have incredible opportunities to have forged such a different path.

But too much has happened now, too much has been said and reported. There’s no way they can form meaningful and lucrative partnerships and collaboration with significant players under this cloud of huge negativity. They are too tainted.
