RIP Guy the Beagle

Meghan has updated her Instagram to announce that her rescue dog, Guy the Beagle, has passed away.

It looks like he features quite a bit in her cooking/lifestyle show.

Poor Meghan!

And the video she has put out features the children's voices and images.
Just in time for Catherine's birthday.

The video was very touching. People magazine have a pretty comprehensive article telling the multi-year stories of Meghan's adoption of rescue dogs - probably a side to her few people are aware of. Almost makes me want to get a dog again (I miss having one! sadly they're wayyyyyy more work than I have time for)...😂

Also lovely to hear the testimonies of the rescue owners, Dolores Doherty of A Dog’s Dream Rescue and Shannon Keith of the Beagle Freedom Project, about their interactions with Meghan. No doubt they will now be hounded by the usual BM nutjobs looking to turn a lovely story into a Meghan-bashing one - hopefully they are prepared!

Oh, when did Guy die? I didn’t think that had been shared.

The family have all my sympathies, losing a dog is horrible.

The video about the dog is full of shots of meghan. Her post mentions her brand new show and herself a lot. It’s not worded as the loss of a family pet, it’s that Meghan is very upset the dog died.

We also have no idea when the dog actually died could have been weeks/months ago. She deliberately leaves that part out but tells us she cried in the shower? Bizarre.

Guy was seen in the trailer for the new show so she maybe wanted to get it out ahead of the show coming out. I’m no Meghan fan but she clearly loved her dog(s).

I feel sorry for anyone who loses a beloved pet, it’s a very sad time. I’m genuinely sorry for her loss.

I’m not sure why the world needed to know about it though. I’m sure she has private WhatsApp groups with close friends where this could have been shared. I also think this is not “new” news and expect to see posts of an adorable new puppy before long.

I was distraught when we lost our dog.

I only heard about Guy being their pet beagle last week as it was mentioned in several articles about the new Netflix show! So I guess he was fairly popular in the world of Meghan fans.

They haven’t said when he passed.

My guess would be a couple of weeks ago - because it would take a little while to put together a video montage (because it would probably be just too hard to do that in the immediate aftermath)

I hope it wasn’t over Christmas

I can see why she would want to put this out before the show launched (and it’s not exactly something you’d want to put in the actual launch post itself)

Guy apparently shared the car with the Queen on the way to a wedding rehearsal?

We lost one of our beloved rescues in July and our hearts are still broken. He was clearly well loved.

Yes poor Catherine to have her birthday ruined because Meghan's dog has died. You couldn't make any of this up.

Maybe but as someone has said elsewhere, a
little “in memory” message at the end of the first episode might have worked too 🤷‍♀️

That’s sad news. It is truly heartbreaking when a dog dies and I do feel for them. Of course, we don’t know when Guy died. There’s no way Meghan would cynically put out a message about this for sympathy or to manipulate the response to her new programme, of course. I’m sure it’s simply an announcement to let people know he died at some point between last summer and now.
