RIP Guy the Beagle

Meghan has updated her Instagram to announce that her rescue dog, Guy the Beagle, has passed away.

It looks like he features quite a bit in her cooking/lifestyle show.

Poor Meghan!

I don't not want this to sound insensitive because I know how much people love their pets, but Guy dying (which is terribly sad on a personal level for the family) will have been a real issue in terms of timing the announcement. I haven't seen the trailer for WLM, but he seems to be integral as part of the vibe they've tried to create of the perfect family home. We know it isn't that, it's a rented mansion, but they are promoting a lifestyle and an image and many such programmes include the family pets.
When Guy died it will have been a problem (again, not trying to be harsh, for the company not for Meghan who will have been grieving) working out whether they let it be known he died or whether they say nothing. In many ways, a brief announcement at the time focused on him and how much he will be missed, rather than a long spiel issued now about how Meghan 'swooped him up' from the kill centre and cried in the shower might have been more appropriate.
Once the show had aired, they could have included the video that's been released as an 'in memory of' addendum. That would feel much more authentic and less 'managed'.
In many ways, I think part of the problem the Sussexes have is that they never put a foot right.

@Butteredtoast55 - there was some nonsense somewhere of Meghan sobbing in the shower - it's funny how the drama of her sobbing is used as a weapon - re Kate and the quarrel - sobbing on the flooor (whilst looking in the mirror no doubt to make sure she looked distraught enough) .... honestly what adult sobs on the floor after a ding dong with an in law 🙄
She's saved this up to just put it out there when it works best for her and her manipulation - shame the poor doggo had to become part of her live concocted drama productions

You'd think that, but Meghan released it on her SM for public viewing, so the public and press will comment on it. That's the point of celebrities trying to sell products posting on SM.

They're looking for attention.

I did think the sobbing in the shower bit was a little OTT. And I think the video would have been better without the jarring inclusion of the pan of jam.

But the rest was fine.

And being a dog owner myself and having lost 2 beloved friends over the years, how she chooses to remember and memorialise him is her choice. It was a lovely video.

Totally agree with that. I wouldn't mentioned or featured anything about the show at all, because it's that part that's attracting negative comments.

That video was a tribute to Meghan's love for her dog, and not the dog itself.

I don’t know, we’ve got Megan talking about crying in the shower and William being affectionate in Kate’s birthday post. How the RF’s public image has changed since the old queen died. Not saying it’s not refreshing, it’s just quite the sea change.

Hopefully, next Charles will post a pic of Camilla’s valentine day gift with heart emojis, or Anne will do a GRWM for insta.

Madness it might be, but Meghan’s supporters have been saying online today that Kate only put out a birthday photo and post about her birthday because she’s jealous of all the attention that Meghan is getting from her return to instagram and the trailer. So there’s that.

Yes, Catherine must be fuming! The tens of thousands of negative comments on the NF trailer, soooo jealous!

Good grief. Obviously despite the rf always acknowledging birthdays/anniversaries. Maybe they expected Catherine to move her birthday so it didn’t coincide with Meghan’s insta post. Weirdos.

Multiple things can be simultaneously true.

I’m sure Meghan is devastated at the loss of her dog. Any dog owner would be.

And I think no matter what your feelings are towards Meghan, it would be grossly unreasonable to deny the fact that it must be a big loss.

But if her dog died several months ago, as is being suggested, that puts a very different slant on the timing.

Every year Meghan/Meghan and Harry manage to announce big news/do a significant press release around Catherine’s birthday. At first I thought it must just be a coincidence but Harry has admitted there’s bad blood between them in Spare, and the “coincidences” just keep on coming. It’s getting pretty hard to ignore now and only a fool would believe it’s a genuine coincidence.

Also it’s a weirdly huge announcement for the death of a family pet. Whether it’s intentional or not, the release sounds like PR for the show - which let’s face it, could really do with a more sympathetic reception right now. And of course, let’s not forget the jam.

So yes, the death of Guy the Beagle is really sad. I feel sorry for anyone losing a beloved family pet. But the size and timing of the announcement is extremely circumspect when the death occurred a few months back.

If you really and truly believe the timing is coincidental, I’ve got some magic beans to sell to you.

She owes me my share of her £30 million wedding. Probably more, since I live in the borough in which the sham wedding took place.

Whether you like her or not, she's quite fascinating in the way she behaves, and Harry obviously who was hitherto a much-admired member of the royal family. I don't think many commentators have the energy to "hate" her which requires a fair bit of effort.

I don't think it takes too much imagination to work out why people are interested in them and have an opinion? Members of the RF aren't prone to dramatically quitting. Plus they do so much to draw attention to themselves.

If you can't fathom people's reactions to her - and it is really not hate for most of us bystanders! - then why feel the need to read a thread about her and comment on it? Seems ridiculous, even...

Lol i wouldn't even be taking them seriously. When I read it i thought how funny they are poking fun at how other people make comments about Meghan stealing the limelight from Catherine. I don't think they actually mean it quite funny actually, type of thing I'd say in a mocking tone
