Thinking long term about H and Me lives and their children's lives where is the funding going to come from and is there a serious risk of the funding drying up? I especially think of the children who I would expect would go to a private US school and ultimately will be US citizens perhaps pursuing US jobs. There is huge competition for celebrity status in the US and no nobility as such so how do they for in? Does the link to the RF quickly become an irrelevance ?

Their children will slide into obscurity at best, at worst they will have rather tragic lives as many children of famous people do. There will be no dynasty, those two people have done nothing interesting or noteworthy to demand that kind of legacy.

I it is thing to wish what you wish on adults who make their own decisions.

It is another thing entirely to drag young children into it, and wish the worst for them.

This is low, even for you lot.

The legacy will be Harry's challenging of the media through the courts.
Bit nasty to assume their very young children will achieve nothing.

The ‘challenge’ has already been decided, and the cases (and the major public enquiry) which established how very badly wrong the press had got it have all concluded.

The upcoming case is his civil one that settles a level of damages.

The risk to him is that the court awards him a lower settlement than has already been offered. In those circumstances, he’ll be liable for both sides costs

I believe their children will achieve something in life, and it will not be because of but in spite of who their parents are. It's mean to write little ones off!

Why is one poster representative of “you lot”? 🤔

Confirmation bias

If you really believe that criticism can only come from ‘hate’ then of course you will see others as a homogeneous mass of ‘haters’

That people here have been chatting about the RF since before even the creation of the board (2011) and that opinions of figures in the RF have changed depending on what they’ve done - simply doesn’t register, no matter how oft repeated

You think the measure of achievement is celebrity? Obscurity does not mean they achieve nothing, nor does celebrity mean they have unless you have a very shallow measure of achievement.

I found The Vintage Read’s take on this interesting, she commented on the mayor indulging them as though they were royals, eg letting them tour a burnt out home (how disrespectful of the owners) and introducing them to firefighters.

What on earth was he thinking?

Of course more and more people are seeing them for what they are, but for people in official positions to be so easily duped is concerning. I really hope BP is taking note of this and will at last take action to cut the branch.

and introducing them to firefighters.

The fires were/are still raging and destroying homes. What on earth were they doing distracting firefighters from the job at hand?

I didn't see The Vintage Read, but if you mean Meghan commented on this she's commented on a lot of other things too, like the airline captain coming along to "thank her for her service" and much more

Doesn't necessarily make it true ...

Sorry. Wasn’t clear, I meant Shauna commented. It was an interesting commentary, we can’t link but it’s worth searching out on YouTube.

It is not really confirmation bias @EdithWeston .

I have been around a long time.

The RF threads are one thing.

The H&M threads are a different beast with a different animus.

The amount of snark, cynicisim and often, down right malice, would not be accepted if thrown around by any other person/s.

It is very uncomfortable.

itsstillmehere · 13/01/2025 13:17

@andIsaid as someone had said on another thread, no one is forcing you to read any of this or to watch Meghan's lifestyle show. Stay away from things which make you feel uncomfortable.
