Full circle. Back to influencing. It was always going to happen.

A little hypocritical as she has been waxing lyrical about the evils of social media for ages and taken great pride in announcing that she isn’t on SM because of this.

I’m not on Instagram, I wonder if she has managed more followers than she did with ARO…..?

Not a fake but maybe just stop starting things and ditching them.
At some point this woman needs to deliver something meaningful. Not a bit of homemade chutney, or a role in a Polo doc, or a quasi-Royal visit.
It is at the point now where she is so late to the party. To be fair with The Tig it was pretty timely in that we were reading blogs, and she knew her market.
But now she is lost. Not a Royal, not Hollywood royalty, not even sure if her and Harry are together.
I am sure with a decent amount of followers someone will pay her to plug something, but I don’t think she’s going to set the world of influencing alight.
She needs better PR advice but I have a feeling she knows best at all time.

I don't think she should get criticism for fake handwriting and video re runs. That's what Instagram is, an idealised fake snippet of someone's life. It's not supposed to be real or gritty.

Just remembering that was basically what I said about Catherine's video as well! It's Instagram, idealised, soft focused not reality.

Now that it’s been pointed out I can see at least 2 x 2025’s in the sand already.

She should have finished off the video by walking on water, she could give it a good go with those feet.

See, I did think Catherine’s video was a bit saccharine but I understood it was a celebration of completing her chemotherapy plus the fact that she was put in a very awkward public position where she had to address the general public due to the “where’s Kate?” campaign.

This too is fake and saccharine, but the difference is Meghan is doing it for fame/money etc. Again, it looks unauthentic. But this is the route she is going down now…

No they are not. What gives you such an odd idea? He took that video of her! They are happy and contentment and rich with two wonderful children. Why would they uncouple?

No, they're saying they have filmed this at least twice. Just to her left at about the 4 sec mark you can see "2025" written in the sand.

Frankly, if Meghan had gone through what Kate has this year, I wouldn't be snippy about a pretty pretty video celebrating a return to health. The truth is is that she hasn't. This is, as usual, for the coin.

Oh yes, they're thriving and living their best life in a completely unsalty way.

M needs new revenue streams - especially for when Netflix don’t renew their contract later this year. She attracts lots of attention for what she wears so influencing makes sense. It will be hard to make it look classy rather than like Fergie on QVC or other influencers taking money from dubious companies like weight loss teas but needs must. The property taxes and lifestyle is expensive and sponsored posts make sense as a side hustle.

You know that saying that you have no idea what's going on in people's lives, so be kind? People pay that an awful lot of lip service, but rarely do it. How on earth do you know what's up in her world?

I saw that. Nothing is spontaneous with these two. Everything thought out and calculated.

Yeah, I don’t care either way about H&M but agree that it’s not fair to compare to a video that KM was basically forced to make in order to quiet the speculation when she first stepped back for cancer treatment. Easy to forget now but the tabloid rumours were flying in a very hostile way. It wasn’t to my taste but her video did a good job of taking back the narrative.

She’s bought the name off of someone. You couldn’t get ‘Sally’ for example. So it probably is her.

I’d love to know how you know they are contentment? Can you be contentment, surely you have contentment rather than being it? Or are you suggesting they are the embodiment of contentment?

Why is there so much hate around
a) Meghan doing things for money? and
b) Meghan taking multiple takes of a video and editing them for SM?

Does everyone else on this thread not do things for money? And do they all only ever take one photo/video if they're planning to post it to SM, and hope it turns out exactly as they'd like?

I DGAF about any of the Royals (or the ex-Royals) and haven't watched the video, but I feel like doing things for money - rather than just for the joy of doing them - makes up a good proportion of most of our lives, and most of us also post edited images and videos on SM.

I mean the timing is awful. Surely they knew this morning before they launched the insta page that there was a new years attack in New Orleans? Why launch it now?

I mean I know we are only just finding out now it’s ISIS but from early on we knew multiple people were killed and it was terrorist related.

She does have a knack for launching these things at the worst times. She launched ARO at the height of Catherine’s disappearance rumours. Oprah interview when the Duke of Edinburgh was ill.

America, which is her target audience is going to be focused on an ISIS attack happened on American soil. Just days away from the funeral of President Carter. This will pass them by

Agree about the timing, a problem that has dogged them since they flounced off .
No one could have predicted Covid but the OW interview was a terrible mistake ( not just the timing !) and this video should have been delayed as it hasn’t been the headline winner hoped for .

I'm quite impressed she can gallop around on a beach without stubbing her foot on a stone or a shell...
