  • William will continue to play a larger role as statesman. Hopefully he will move away from the virtue signalling endeavours; earth shot etc
  • Will see more of Catherine but she won’t see a return to a full time timetable (I don’t think she will for the next few years)
  • Eerie feeing that KC will still be battling ill health. Feel bad for writing that, but it’s a gut feeling all is not well.
  • Camillia isn’t going to be able to continue to be working as much as she has to cover for KC. Hence Williams larger role.
  • Prince George accompanying his father on a Royal visit.
  • 50/50 if the Meghan cooking show will be released. There will be no ARO launch for 2025.
  • 2025 is going to continue M&Hs run of bad luck. Harry in particular will have a tough year with the numerous court cases and NFs dropping them
  • Continued press if they are together or not. More info and stories that they are spending increasing time apart. Separate events throughout the year. Don’t believe Meghan will show for Invictus. Harry will spend more time in NY.

….following on from William having a larger role. That he will attend President Carters funeral. I can’t see KC travelling.

What are your predictions for 2025?

  • Eerie feeing that KC will still be battling ill health. Feel bad for writing that, but it’s a gut feeling all is not well. - I thought the general belief was that he has has prostrate cancer, so he will always have this but it will be managed and won’t be his cause of death.
Aspargar · 31/12/2024 13:56

Yes, I have zero evidence about KCs health. You could be right, just a weird feeling that I can’t shift.

No evidence but have a feeling that Catherine is a lot more ill than is being revealed. Hope I am wrong.

Right….ok. We believe you, thousands wouldn’t

I think, and hope, that KC will be pushed to resolve the ‘Counsellor of State’ issue with respect to Andrew. He needs to be gone, permanently from our sight.

I agree that his cancer is likely being managed and he will die with it, not from it.

I expect Wiiliam to be busy, but I do not think he will drag his son into service except for things which matter to his core family.

I think we will see Sophie step in for Camilla as Camilla shows signs that her own health is suffering.

I wish peace and purpose for Harry but have no real idea where he will find it.

I don’t believe he will be dragged into to service. I’m talking about one or maybe two visits with his father.

Part of the problem with Harry was he was always beside William. He felt as if he was Williams equal, then the hard crash a few years ago when he realised they were on ‘different paths’. They were always on different paths but William should have been brought into service earlier and shown the ropes by his father.
Like what the King and Queen of Spain did with Princess Leanor. She accompanied her father and was guided by him. Often the younger princess would be supporting them with the Queen.

This what should happen with George. He is heir and needs to slowly and gently be shown the ropes. So that by the time he is 18yrs he understands. William didn’t really start his royal working life until he was 30. Far too late and is certainly what led to many problems with Harry thinking he was important.

I see nothing wrong with the Prince of Wales continuing his high profile engagement with Earthshot Prize. I think he will be prepared to work more intensely with a smaller range of projects rather than being a token figurehead of many as his father did. I think we will see a bit more of the Princess of Wales but not much. Until the last of the kids go to boarding school she will want to be there for the day to day stuff and school run. I suspect the King will continue his cancer treatment and it will be managed rather than cured. Queen Camilla may have to do less but I think she will concentrate on her literacy and DV projects because she knows her involvement keeps a high public profile to the issues. The Princess Royal will continue Trooping on in her indomidable fashion. The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh deserve more attention for the matters they attend to. Sadly I think that the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra will continue their decline in health and we can only hope that they are able to do so without negative inference. The Sussexs will no doubt make some kind of announcement on January 9th to draw attention away from Kate's birthday. They do it every year so why change their habits now.

Mischance · 31/12/2024 14:12

Hopefully he will move away from the virtue signalling endeavours - well, not very likely since this is the raison d'etre of the royals.

Sadly I agree with you on Camillia. Her health doesn’t seem to be have been great this year.

George is only 11. Let him be a child a bit longer. Going with his Dad to the footie is one thing. Taking him along as a show object as Princess Diana did to William taking him to Wales for St David's Day when he was about 7 was so wrong. The footage showed William so shy and unsure of himself.

Attending one event with his father is still allowing him to be a child.

The way Princess Leanor, future Queen of Spain has been raised, is a great example for W&C

Unfortunately, I believe the publics wish that Harry and William be allowed to grow up without a formal role, is what caused many of the problems for Harry.
William should have been accompanying his father from a much younger age and should have been a working royal, albeit part-time, from the age of 18. Harry should never have been allowed to think his role was as important as Williams.

There would always have been a role for Harry, in exactly there was always a role for Ann, Edward and Andrew (if he hadn't disgraced himself)

I think we'll end up seeing some of Williams cousins taking on a role.

KC, QC and Ann are all getting on in years and their health is suffering. There is no way, William & Kate, Sophie & Edward can cover everything. During the next 10 - 15 years while George & co grow up.

Aspargar · 31/12/2024 14:58

I don’t think they intend to cover everything.
There isn’t going to be the thousands of royal visits carried out by the RF in the future.

I think once Anne etc retire, they won’t be replaced.

He once fronted The Sunshine Band.

Think that Princess Beatrice will have another girl, but as long as both Mum and baby are well, I'm not bothered 😀😀😀.

Ladbrokes are offering 5/1 they will divorce ( but not specifically 2025).

8/1 that they will host Saturday Nite Live.

18/1 they will star in the Simpsons.

GrouchyKiwi · 31/12/2024 15:46

I agree with you about how the Spanish Royals did things with Leonor. She seems very self-assured in her role, and that can only be a good thing. But 11 is a bit young to start this; give George another couple of years.

I like Earthshot, William's homelessness project, and Kate's early childhood work. I want them to continue with this and step it up. I'd also like them to be a bit more visible than they were in 2023 (obviously this year has been a different situation), as Kate's health allows. William should be doing something almost every day. He seems well suited to the statesmen role he has started dipping his toes into so the FO should make good use of that.

Agree that he'll go to President Carter's funeral, if Royal rep is asked for.

I'm hoping that Andrew sinks into total oblivion and we don't have to hear any more about him.

And I hope that Harry & Meghan find some peace and fulfilment, and start making amends with their families (again, where appropriate).

I entirely agree. Beatrice seems a very nice woman who is prepared to support her cousin William in his role and do bits of public work with very little attention. I hope she and her baby the very best.

The Women's Rugby World Cup is in England in 2025. England have a very good chance of winning.
Catherine is Patron of the RFU so I would expect to see her at some of the matches, prob with one or all of the children.
