This thread is nuts. I'm never on this board, is this how it usually is?

And I'm quite certain anyone in the card has given permission. They will have met a lot of hospital patients and hugged a lot of children doing their work, they're hardly going to publish photos of two who didn't give consent. So many people think they are conniving, so surely they're smarter than that?

Also, they stepped down from being WORKING royals. His Dad is still the King and those are their titles. Everyone is acting like they know what goes on in their private lives and taking sides. So strange.

Considering ever They have said about the RF you would think they would ditch the titles but of course they won’t do that because what it all boils down to is that they are nothing without those title's. I feel sorry for the country of Sussex.

MayaKovskaya · 17/12/2024 07:12

Of course they're working royals, just not officially. They're doing quasi royal tours.
That's their whole income stream. Being royal.

PomandersandRedRibbon · 17/12/2024 07:12

I really like it

First think I thought too - along with her dress looks like dresses I wore in the 1970's and long white socks 😵‍💫 - looks completely photoshopped - loads online pointing out dreadful photoshopped sections

@wigsonthegreenandhatsforthelifting "The country shuts down because even in 2024, the UK is a predominantly Christian country. I don't expect "neutral language" to be used as it's offensive to me as a Christian."

What complete rubbish. Apart from anything else, the UK is not a predominantly Christian country. And "Happy Holidays" is not neutral. It may be inclusive, but it's not neutral. And this is a corporate card, which are generally awful. I'll wait to mock until I see their personal one.

AmazingGraze · 17/12/2024 07:36

It’s a far cry from their days as working Royals, that’s for sure. When did Harry decide to jettison Xmas in favour of this pseudo nonsense featuring a montage of muddled and indistinct images and mixed messages? It’s an embarrassment.

What do you like about it?

cavea · 17/12/2024 07:40

I wonder are they trolling the Wales's photoshopped family photo.

People online pointing out all the inconsistencies, Harry with multiple fingers, Lili with half a shoe, Meghan with an arm as long as a tree trunk, Meghan looking more like Princess Catherine than herself, The anomaly of it being so out of focus in comparison to all the other photos on the grid.

Its something I could imagine Harry and Meghan thinking was really funny.

MayaKovskaya · 17/12/2024 07:45

I wouldn't have thought so, @cavea ? Trolling family members on a seasonal card?
That seems very mean.
Would they really be so intentionally nasty?

I think it is more trolling the media and the public, I could somehow imagine them thinking it is a hilariously funny prank.

If so their mentality is even more puerile than I thought .

I can't see what looks photoshopped about it anyway but even if it is the idea that they would have done it to troll anyone is a ridiculous stretch. If it is altered it will only be because they think it looks better. Same as as the Mother's Day one.

Which I still don't think was that big a deal. This thread is the only place I've seen anyone mention that one since about a week after it happened. Despite the dire warnings people were giving then that it would be the end of the Waleses who would never be trusted again and it could bring down the entire royal family etc etc.

FloofPaws · 17/12/2024 08:21

They're trying to be everything to everyone, with a constant reminder that they're desperate to be the US royal family branch, making cash out of their titles of places they consider toxic to them, I think any city or county that has connections to their idiotic 'tidles' to take them off of them - I'll bet the Duchess of Sussex couldn't point to it on a map 🤯 ... and Harry is so dim he'd struggle to point out the UK

WinnieTheW0rm · 17/12/2024 08:21

cheezy · 16/12/2024 22:20

Or she’s, y’know, had a haircut.
Not everything is a conspiracy.

It’s okay, but as others have said I hope they got permission to use photos of strangers.

Conspiracy?
How did you get that from my post?

It’s just an oldish photo,

Though I suppose also possible Harry wasn’t being truthful in the normal sense when he said recently that Lili could nearly sit on hers. And Harry’s relationship with verifiable truth as opposed to his memory (which he believes has equal validity) isn’t exactly conspiracy theory!

HunterdeButts · 17/12/2024 08:23

The family photo is odd - why use a low resolution shot that looks like it's been papped? An online commentator from Montecito says that there's blue Agapanthus and Mexican Sage blooming in the background. That would date the photo to April-June. Lili would have turned 3 in late June 2024. The female child in the picture looks a lot older than a sub/only just 3 year old - she looks more like 5/6 from her build and height. She's also wearing very odd clothes for a modern, Californian kid, and is in a summer dress while the others are in cool weather clothing (it can be hot in that part of California in the Spring). The boy is taller than her, he's just got his knees bent, but he too looks taller than a regular 5 year old. The dogs are not behaving as dogs would if two excited children were running towards them. The black lab has a white glow around him that indicates he's been photoshopped in, as does Harry. Meghan's arm looks ridiculously long. She too may have been photoshopped, but whitening clothing in photoshop disguises the white line. It's very silly (or calculated) to pop in such an obviously photoshopped photo where their kids are involved - simply because there is so much speculation and rumour about the children anyway, so why add fuel to the fire?

As for it being a corporate photo: you don't put papped looking family/PDA pictures in a corporate card. You do put in a bunch of images from the most controversial talking points of your recent activities if you want people talking about you, either positively or negatively - I think it's all the same to them.

This is the Royal Family board

not the Working Royals board

We chat about other non-working Royals too, Even Royal adjacent people and foreign Royals.

The Sussexes are, as ER II put it, beloved members of the family. They in turn show their attachment to it every time they choose to use their titles, such as on this card,

Feel free to hide the board BTW.

I am fiercely republican but I love the way Harry & Meghan annoy the firm fans
Given his uncle Randy Andy was friends with a convicted paedophile and nips about with a spy, Harry isn’t so bad.

Many people who have very negative opinions of H&M aren't necessarily RF fans, myself included, some are just sick of two talentless idiots trying to sell themselves for cash when they were told not to. Many hate the way they use people as a ladder, their pain and their ideas, stolen or stamped on by these idiots who are trying to create their own RF - the lies and shit they spout,
Narcissistic behaviours, bullying ... it goes on and on

WinnieTheW0rm · 17/12/2024 08:42

I think Happy Holidays is neutral if you’re in the US

It’s just really odd phrasing for UK -the norm here is Season’s Greetings (which I don’t think raises even the slightest eyebrow)

CurlewKate · 17/12/2024 08:46

@AmazingGraze "When did Harry decide to jettison Xmas" Saying "Happy Holidays" is not jettisoning Xmas! And it's a holiday card because it's a corporate card from a corporation which is presumably American based, and which is inclusive of all faiths and none. The outrage it has produced is bizarre.

CurlewKate · 17/12/2024 08:47

@WinnieTheW0rm I was brought up to believe that "Season's Greetings" was indescribably vulgar!

friendlycat · 17/12/2024 08:58

It just looks very disjointed and flung together. One picture would have been much better.

Happy Holidays is standard American wording that's fine.

On behalf of the office of .... oh God how pompous.

chollysawcutt · 17/12/2024 09:03

Criticising a moon-pig card coming from the office of a company that presumably has the resources, talent and reach to produce something more professional is fair game, I think. But it's another level of bonkers to conspiracy theory a photo-shopped/alien kids vibe.

Having said that (!) I do think it's interesting that Hazza has chosen images (I'm assuming he sanctioned them and didn't just give the intern free rein?) that are so reminiscent of his Mum's most famous photos.

On the one hand, he disses the incessant scrutiny that Diana was under and is adamant he doesn't want that for his family. And yet....

chooses the 'arms outstretched' photo. The hugging a child.... The hospital bed visit...(in the hospital renamed for his mum). Literally and visually referencing her. He wears his loss large for sure.

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 17/12/2024 09:07

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 16/12/2024 19:29

It’s a very strange disjointed card. They should have just stuck to one photo of the both of them. Perhaps one of them dancing in Colombia. They shouldn’t have included images of people outside of the family, in my opinion.

Also, the photo of them with their children looks weird. If you look where Meghan’s foot is compared to the rest of her body, it looks odd and as though it’s been photoshopped.

You can't see Meghan's foot though

Her feet look to be facing the wrong direction.
