I haven’t watched Polo and no plans to but I assume there is no reference to other polo playing members of his family ?

@Onlyonekenobe I'm of the opinion that both women cried. Catherine was heavily pregnant then immediately post-natal. Meghan stressed out before such a big wedding.

Meghan obviously took it more to heart, but tbh, it's pretty much a non story. A better, healthier attitude wouldve been to say - yeah, we were both stressed and tired and both had a little cry, but we spoke about it afterwards and cleared the air.

I agree that it is highly likely that both women cried. The way Harry describes the whole mess in Spare makes it sound like there were a lot of unknown people rushed in to fix the mess. The 'leaks' could have come from anywhere.

Also, from a PR point of view, I think Catherine would hate anyone saying that she cried. It was never the flex that Meghan thought it was. Catherine took her image projection from QEII in that the monarchy should be a bit of an enigma. It's a bit of stiff upper lip Britishness, but it's also about being professional and polished. Crying over a bridesmaid dress is not an image I think Catherine would wish to project.

In the recent expose by The HollyWood Reporter where 12 exployees described MM relentless bullying behaviours she was reported 'to have made grown men cry'.

I believe not according to the article in the papers now by the England polo team captain who described it as "weird".

TheBeeStings · 23/12/2024 16:43

I don't understand why Meghan has to lie on the floor to cry?

Why doesn't she sit on the sofa and cry or cry while loading the dish washer? Like people do.

I presume it's because it's more dramatic.

The twits don't realise that the more dramatic and grandiose they are the more ridiculous and less sympathetic they appear.

King of the United Kingdom.

And what? Why does that mean they should follow British traditions while living in America? They left the royal family. They gave up their HRH. They don't want that life for their family.

They didn't "give up" their HRH. They were asked not to use it. They held on tight and strong to their British titles which they use at every given opportunity. They couldn't wait to call their children Prince and Princess.

If they want to fully embrace an American lifestyle, then they should ditch the British titles. They won't because they're total hypocrites. Americans don't have titles.

And I disagree that they didn't "want that life for their family". They totally did, just on their own terms, ie doing the 'nice', glamorous bits but not doing the mundane duties. They only threw their dummy out of the pram when they didn't get their own way!

I don’t in all honesty think he was this jealous before M came on the scene. My feeling is a lot of it is her whispering in his ear about how unfair it all is and how they should be getting X Y and X. Because SHE wants all the trappings of being married to a Prince.

I totally agree. I think he has her dripping poison in his ear about all the perceived slights and differences in treatment, He's like a wind-up toy that she has wound up and let go.

They're consumed with jealousy, and seem incapable of seeing that they were actually getting the better gig. The power, the fame, the status without the responsibility.

I don't think anything of the sort. In fact I don't think a royal family is necessary at all in this day and age. William and Catherine went beyond an "heir and a spare" without a thought for the cost to the British taxpayer. But sure let's hate Harry for thinking that as a prince of the United Kingdom - a position he didn't choose - his family should be protected.

I wonder if William and Catherine will be this dismissive if their own children want a different life one day than the one they have brought them into. You don't want to be a royal pawn, Louis? That's fine. Fuck off then. If some nutter shoots you, it's your own fault.

You think that Catherine and William shouldn't have had a child they clearly wanted because of the taxpayer???

You may think that a royal family is not necessary - knock yourself out. The status quo remains.

Harry's family gets the security that RAVEC, the actual experts, deem necessary. He doesn't get to decide; the king doesn't get to decide, and William won't get to decide.

JimHalpertsWife · 23/12/2024 17:36

Louis will be closest Catherine will get to a "normal" child, as she might have imagined her kids to be before meeting PW. George, and to some extent Charlotte will be the working Royals of the future.

Louis can (and I imagine will be guided to) enter the world of paid work, be a non working royal, and be able to have the most private life of the three.

JSMill · 23/12/2024 18:33

I just hope the press leave Louis the f&@k alone when he's an adult.

I think PH thinks he is swinging a punch at KC3 and PW with this case.

Did he bring this case when QE2 was still alive?

Yes, he did, it hadn't gone to court stage though prior to her death.

@JADS the rumour is that the leak about the bridesmaids dresses came from a fitter brought into Givenchy.

It's never been confirmed though.

💯 this

I'm not over-bothered about the card one way or the other, but it was said this is a corporate one and that more personal greeetings would follow ... only I don't think they have?

Even the main royals send cards from themselves rather than their "office" so this does seem a little odd, and even if there's no recent picture of them together they could presumably send one of a robin or something Confused

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 26/12/2024 14:39

Is it known whether they did release a personal card as well as the corporate one?

I don't think it's known.

I think there have been suggestions in other years too that there is a second card, but none have ever been seen. So I take it all with a pinch of salt

Well if one was released it's not been seen AFAIK, and I'd have expected someone to say "Look what I got!!" and flog the image to some rag

Unless I suppose they just nipped down to Walmart for a multipack ...
