Yes you can see her foot, it's in a white high heeled shoe next to the beagle's front paw.

Janiie · 17/12/2024 09:32

So pretentious, he is desperate to be important isn't he? Meanwhile all he has to flog is gossip about his family.

stripeyshutters · 17/12/2024 09:35

Where is Harry's beard?

stripeyshutters · 17/12/2024 09:39

CurlewKate · 17/12/2024 08:46

@AmazingGraze "When did Harry decide to jettison Xmas" Saying "Happy Holidays" is not jettisoning Xmas! And it's a holiday card because it's a corporate card from a corporation which is presumably American based, and which is inclusive of all faiths and none. The outrage it has produced is bizarre.

It's not really bizarre though is it? They live for photo opportunities and publicity for their life choices so they cannot expect to put something like this out and it have no reaction. It's created for reaction. They hide their children so again comments are to be expected. They have a levitating dog so it's to be expected.

True. Along with suing people and newspapers for saying unfavourable things about his iccle wifey. 🙄

Can't believe I used to love Harry. Even liked Meghan too to start with. (And liked them together.) Didn't last long though. I lost any love or respect I had for them when they fucked off to America and didn't return, accused our Queen of nasty shit, called the Royal family racist, and continued to berate the British - and the Royals.

Shame they turned into what they turned into. Whining babies, using the Royal name, whilst slagging the Royals off, and having no talents or abilities, other than making money from suing people, and chatting shit on Netflix.

smilesy · 17/12/2024 09:43

The debacle around the Wales’s photo prompted a “source” to state that Meghan would never be caught photoshopping an image in the same way. This was the origin of the “Meghan’s keen eye and freakish attention to detail” comment that I mentioned up thread and linked to elsewhere. So at the very least it is hypocritical of them to issue a very obviously photoshopped image

stripeyshutters · 17/12/2024 09:43

I know what " salty" is and I know the people who use it .

It is so shallow and as always with Harold, very ironic. Forget all the hurt he has caused his family let's just release a pic full of rictus grins and adulation.

Wouldn't it be nice if he developed some self awareness one day.

TheBeeStings · 17/12/2024 09:49

I can see why they used that photo. They wanted to show what a loving happy family they are but they didn't want to show the kids faces. This does that for them.
I presume someone has altered it a bit and it doesn't look like a good quality photo anyway.

I think the 'story' it tells is H&M returning home from a trip. Kids being in the garden. Dogs greeting H_M first then the kids coming from wherever they are to see mum and dad. Kids babysitter, maybe Doria, catches the cute moment on the phone so it's not a great image.

All fine. But why put it on a corporate Christmas card?

If they had any sense, which they apparently don't, they'd put out an archewell card with pictures of the charities archewell has supported. Centering the people doing the work with H&M meeting/ appreciating the work.
They'd ditch the ones of them hugging people, it's self aggrandising, and the ones of them hugging each other. Why would archewell funders care about how in love they are?
And the ones of their kids.
They'd also refer to themselves as Harry and Meghan.
That would send a message of them having lost airs and graces and being focused on promoting meaningful work.

This is the opposite. But they just can't seem to help it or just don't get it.

A personal 'happy holiday' card with a nice family picture of them enjoying life in their garden or on the beach would be a great idea. Show them living a good life. Let everyone once a year go: ooh look at lily's lovely long hair or Archie's tree house/ cute shorts/ whatever. Sign it from Harry Meghan Lili and Archie, informal, unpretentious, relaxed and therefore aspirational (this would also help her avo business.)

They haven't got a clue.

cavea · 17/12/2024 07:47

I think it is more trolling the media and the public, I could somehow imagine them thinking it is a hilariously funny prank.

Harry and Meghan never strike me as having a sense of humour . Meghan in particular takes herself very seriously.
There are some odd things about the photo ; Meghan’s very long arm , Lili’s left foot to name but 2 . Also puzzled by the children’s clothing . Archie in long trousers and fleece and Lili in a summer dress with long white socks ?

Reetpetitenot · 17/12/2024 10:23

MayaKovskaya · 17/12/2024 07:45

I wouldn't have thought so, @cavea ? Trolling family members on a seasonal card?
That seems very mean.
Would they really be so intentionally nasty?

I don't think so either - I doubt Meghan would ever want to appear less than perfect in photos (obviously what she wants and what actually occurs can be poles apart), but this is supposed to be a professional, corporate card, so trolling would be completely unprofessional.

I would love to think Kate and William have a special card made up for close friends and family photoshopped to include maybe Louis with a cake on his head, George with 3 arms and paws instead of hands and Charlotte with cat whiskers and tail. I think they have the humour to do it.

CurlewKate · 17/12/2024 10:29

@stripeyshutters "It's not really bizarre though is it?"

I was talking about the outrage about "Happy Holidays"

ButterCrackers · 17/12/2024 10:44

PinkLionFind · 16/12/2024 22:00

If they put these things out there then people are going to comment. If they don’t want that then they should just send it out to family and friends.
And some of it is a little distasteful……Who wants to be on someone’s Xmas card in their hospital bed !

I hope they told the person in the hospital bed that their image would be for a happy holidays card.

smilesy · 17/12/2024 10:53

The whole thing seems to be symptomatic of the issues with what the Sussexes want to be or achieve. Is it aimed at a corporate audience? If so, where are the images of their corporate success? Is it meant to show how successful Archewell is? Then why are there no images of charitable endeavours they have contributed towards? Is it meant to show the success of Archewell productions? Then why are there no images of “Polo”? Instead we have a weird mish mash of “hugginess” , invasion of others privacy and weird photoshopping.
Rather ironically, the card seems to be drawing attention to the Sussexes lack of direction and focus on their endeavours, instead of showing them as either successful business people, supporters of charity or private family people 🤷‍♀️

‘Does the country shut down for diwali or ramaddan or passover? When it's any of those days is it a day off for the whole country?’

Ramadan lasts for just over a month, next year it covers the whole of March. So it would be difficult for any country to ‘shut down’ for that long ( even in Officially Muslim countries, they just observe the various provisions).

Passover doesn’t ‘ shut down’ even in Israel, although there are ceremonies and observations which last for a week.

Diwali is celebrated for five days in India ( I don’t think shops shut though, just general feasting and fireworks).

So a ‘day off ‘ for the whole country ( which country?) isn’t really a thing, even in the cultures where these festivals originate.

WinterCrow · 17/12/2024 11:10

I may well be wrong, but I don't think there's 'outrage' being expressed - more that one poster is offended, and quite a few others find the juxtaposition of British royal / monarch-bestowed titles and the use of a US popular greeting to be dichotomous and/or a tad hypocritical and/or a bit comical.

Personally I find it interesting the lengths that H&M went to in order to have a full Church of England wedding, and the royally religious symbolism that they accepted. This included Meghan being baptised into the C of E by the Archbishop of Canterbury in March 2018 in a royal chapel. The monarch is the Church of England's Supreme Governor, and in 2018 both she and the Archbishop were present at H&M's wedding in a royal C of E chapel. This seemed a pretty full on commitment to the Church of England from H&M. The monarch bestowed their Sussex titles on them upon their marriage. Harry of course is on record saying that he supports the monarchy.

So with that context in mind, I think most posters are raising an eyebrow in amusement at the rather shallow-looking dichotomy between the ducal Sussexing and all that that signifies, and the happy holidaying.

Exactly. No one is hating, frothing or any other hyperbolic accusation.

He is just ridiculous and we see him. With his 'Happy Holidays' card as he lives in the US now you see, oh but lets get the Prince and Duke bit in!

JSMill · 17/12/2024 11:43

@WinterCrow thank you for articulating what I was thinking but I couldn't find the words! They haven't given up trying to be America's royal family, have they?
One thing I find strange is how Lillibet is dressed. It seems very British, especially the knee length socks.

By the way where is the black dog’s back left leg ?

Why is it strange? Knee high socks is a fashion trend that's been and gone and come back in many countries including America. Remmeber Britney spears wearing them in her music videos in the 90s, movies like cruel intentions, a American based setting where there are plenty of knee high or over knee socks.

I don't think it's particularly British nor is it strange. It's just a look that has been about for decades regardless of the gap of the child.

Vespanest · 17/12/2024 12:28

not particularly bothered at all about the photographs, at least the other child in the first photograph is also back of the head. Wanting privacy for your own children is a good thing, using other people's children as PR is hypocritical which they tend to have a habit of doing.

BemusedAmerican · 17/12/2024 12:44

I think they just sent an intern down to Staples and told them to order a holiday card package using the supplied business templates.

The US does not shut down for Christmas, or at least in the metropolitan areas. Too many non-Christians. You can even find an emergency veterinarian if needed.
