ARO update

At the end of August, there was a partial rejection of the ARO trademark because of the name and descriptions. Also issues with the logo.
They had 3 months to rectify, which you would think would be ample time.

But just a few days before the deadline, an extension has been applied for. Which would be another 3 months

So it’s obviously not an easy fix, I’m sure there have been countless people working to get this done and they have months! Yet they’ve not been able to sort it.

Seemingly, you are only allowed one extension. This would take her to the end of February. So pretty much a year since she’s launched and it’s no further forward, if anything she’s in a worse position. What a disaster.

Even OP would tell you that her trademark is still pending (to be rejected later lol). Come on.

My god this is actually embarrassing

Even more embarrassing when she’s granted the trademark 😂

OneTealSloth · 30/11/2024 11:14

The objection has been discounted by the examiner.

No further action taken.

Royal Riviera =/ American Riviera lol

NEXT?

I think the embarrassment referred to is that of you refuting all the bullying claims. You seem to be dismissing the statements of those who have worked for the Duchess, many of whom are women. These claims surfaced both in the UK and the US. Which means that in the balance of probabilities there is more than a grain of truth to them 🤷‍♀️

isitsnowingyett · 30/11/2024 11:16

Time will tell won't it? Have they redesigned the ovary logo do you know?

I didn’t realise. I just don’t believe those claims of bullying for a number of reasons.

its good that those affected have a voice, hopefully they got some catharsis from that.

@PoppysAunt I think Meghan probably believes that she herself is enough - turning up at events, dressed up to the nines, posing for photos, throwing herself over anyone and everyone. She has a warped perception of herself believing her mother's mantra that she is special.

but dies she have the fashion savvy to carry it off? Half the time she looks thrown together with outfits and shoes that are too big and ill fitting . Also she is often.inappropriately dressed for the occasion and looks socially awkward . She alienates people to be frank.and has v little understanding of the rules of social engagement.
Non of this is likely to inspire people to want to.emulate her and buy her stuff.

Now that is one thing that may be tweaked. The trademark description didn’t match it, so it needs work.

I love her, I can't wait to buy her products. She always looks stunning, but a lot of that is natural beauty. She could wear a bin bag and still be more attractive than 99.9% of the rest of the world.

PoppysAunt · 30/11/2024 11:22

I agree that she's looked awful of late. Not stylish, not well groomed and certainly not one to copy. King Charles paid for bespoke Givenchy, Dior, Stella McCartney, Victoria Beckham when in the RF. I don't know what happened to all those clothes or why she doesn't enploy a stylist. I'm mystified.
Unless the clothes are all freebies/associate links or whatever.

She moves merch, however people feel about her. That cesta collective bag she wore once, the founders wrote her a note to thank her - that’s how she invested in them. I’m not saying she sells out every single time but business owners have spoken on the effect she has

Well there's always one !

@allthatfalafel you really are smitten, aren't you? 😂

PoppysAunt · 30/11/2024 11:25

Nothing fits, nothing flatters.
At least buy an iron or a steamer. It's like everything is just pulled out at random. Plus re-employ her old hair stylist who did a great job. The severe bun isn't flattering.
Anyway, maybe she doesn't care as much about clothes now, which is fair enough.

IcedPurple · 30/11/2024 11:26

I don't know how anyone, no matter how many 'facts' they 'know', can be optimistic about the success of this brand, if it materialises and whatever it ends up being called.

Being a 'celebrity' in no way guarantees your brand will sell. Just because Meghan ran a moderately successful lifestyle blog a decade ago doesn't mean much. The 'influencer' game has changed massively since then, and consumers have become a lot more discerning. You have to get out there, build up a persona and connect with your audience. What exactly is Meghan's brand persona? Who are her target market? In a highly competitive marketplace, what does she bring? She's had 5 years to build up some kind of persona that would relate to whatever it is she is trying to shill, but has failed.

You can't just appear on NF and expect people to buy what you're selling just because you married a prince.

Edited

She work bespoke LV at the RFK awards last year, she hasn’t stop wearing designer IMO, she just appears less.

flapjackfairy · 30/11/2024 11:26

ps only natural if you ignore the straightened hair and cosmetic proceedure though she is little different in that respect to many other famous women.

OneTealSloth · 30/11/2024 11:29

I think I under estimated how invested people are in the failure of this brand (even this thread bears evidence). The more I read here, the more
I believe she can make this work.

The only recent outfit I liked was the High brow Hippie appearance, don’t like the wavy hair either.

Yes, she still wears designer gear, but never looks polished or stylish nowadays (imo). Maybe she's not that bothered now. Take the very severe bun.
My daughter sometimes wears a bun like that when she doesn't want straighten her hair but doesn't have time for the other stuff (she has 3c hair, probably similar to Meghan's natural hair).
That just makes me think she's not really so interested nowadays.

BunnyLake · 30/11/2024 11:32

Everything about those two is just so stale and boring now. They really have passed their use by date.

I think she gets far too much hate for someone who hasn't actually done anything wrong, you would think she's done worse than Hitler the way people carry on. I'm assuming it's jealousy.

Yes, same here. Plus there's too much beige. She used to wear very vibrant colours when in the RF - bright yellow, green, red and purple. Those colours really suit her.
