Harry not honouring Tyler Perry. Why?

Way back in July, it was announced that Harry and Meghan are tribute chairs for Tyler Perry and the award he will receive at the Paley honours Gala on December 4th. See

Now we are told, even though Tyler has helped his family over the years and is his daughter’s godfather, that Harry won’t be attending the gala even though he is on the hosting committee. Instead Meghan will be on her own? See

Why? It makes no sense. I understand that their work takes them different places but this is something they are both involved in. Harry is off to a book conference that just so happens to be on the 4th December, all the way in NY.

He was a chair of the committee and he doesn’t bother to show up? That’s really poor taste, for a man that has done so much for him.

It’s also just adding unnecessary fuel to fire that all is not well with their marriage. This is an event that they should be doing together, instead Meghan will be left to the red carpet on her own. If he didn’t want to be part of it, why did he join the hosting committee, if he never intended to host?

It is strange that he was listed as host / chair and now he is not going. Problem is that they went on and on about how they do everything together. Remember that story that they are like "salt and pepper" and that they move together.

So if they aren’t even turning up to their friends award night together. Then I doubt they will be promoting POLO as executive producers for Netflix. Will be released into the ether and another box ticked for the Netflix contract.

Ok I can get onboard with Harry choosing to attend the more prestigious event. That would fit in with what we know about his character.

But I don't think it says anything about his marriage.

Gosh it's hard work living such a private life! I see one of the articles referred to Meghan making hair scrunchies earlier in life- perhaps they could be promoted in ARO. I mean look at this scrunchie bargain at 465 by Hermes! 🙄

One of the PR guys was a brand manager for Haribo. So probably why Harry n Meghan loved them so and got them to work for the happy world of Archewell.

Harry has been in NYC at least twice since that alleged car chase. The NYPD has apparently been assigning him 2 cars to escort him and his entourage and there have been no issues because the NYPD escorts know what they are doing. It's costing me money and diverting officers from stopping legitimate crime but cie la vie.

That's why I mentioned the endless rumours, MrsLF, and rumours is all they are, which is why I don't get involved

WTF is a tribute chair? Lots of celebs patting themselves on the back. I don’t agree with the ginger oaf on much tbh, but I’d be swerving this too.

I'm guessing it was all part of the big bad British Royal family league dying to leap into bed with them hoping for a scoop - Oprah etc ... helping out....

Conspiracy is one thing. The stories about Catherine were exactly that. She stated she was ill and that she would be taking time to recover. Then we had sordid stories about how she’s disappeared, is being abused etc.

Another conspiracy is that Harry and Meghans children don’t exist. They do, but silly stories still persist.

When you have a couple, that have went to great lengths to sell their love story to the world, proving to everyone how much in love they are and how they are inseparable. To now be in a situation, where they themselves have stated that their work lives have separated, they haven’t been photographed together in months and Harry is pulling out of events he was due to appear with his wife, then yes, that leads to public comment.

But to suggest the Catherine stories and Meghan and Harry separation rumours are the same is ridiculous.

Ok then - I’m with BustingBaoBun on this - H & M can’t win if they appear together, separately, in formal attire, in casual
attire, on stilts, not on stilts, in the UK, not in the UK, in the US, not in the US, and so on ad infinitum.

Everyone is delightedly speculating about a potentially failing marriage and are almost willing it to happen. Extremely distasteful, especially when young dc are involved.

Just celebs giving other celebs daft 'honours' that mean fuck all. Who cares?

They invited that upon themselves, being as obnoxious as they have been. Everyone knows they told lies during the Oprah interview, their desperation for “privacy” yet wanting to keep their titles and release sordid Netflix docs trying to take down the RF. No wonder people are hoping for their divorce, they arnt likeable in the slightest.

Speculating about other people’s marriages is not a good look. That said, neither is criticising other posters for speculating about H&M relationships when having previously indulged in speculation about W&C’s relationship

Trashing your family publicly is not a good look either..
