The royal family

Harry not honouring Tyler Perry. Why?

Sunblessed · 26/11/2024 14:00

Way back in July, it was announced that Harry and Meghan are tribute chairs for Tyler Perry and the award he will receive at the Paley honours Gala on December 4th. See

https://people.com/meghan-markle-prince-harry-celebrate-tyler-perry-paley-honor-8679521

Now we are told, even though Tyler has helped his family over the years and is his daughter’s godfather, that Harry won’t be attending the gala even though he is on the hosting committee. Instead Meghan will be on her own? See

https://people.com/meghan-markle-prince-harry-attend-events-on-same-day-next-week-but-on-different-coasts-8751500

Why? It makes no sense. I understand that their work takes them different places but this is something they are both involved in. Harry is off to a book conference that just so happens to be on the 4th December, all the way in NY.

He was a chair of the committee and he doesn’t bother to show up? That’s really poor taste, for a man that has done so much for him.

It’s also just adding unnecessary fuel to fire that all is not well with their marriage. This is an event that they should be doing together, instead Meghan will be left to the red carpet on her own. If he didn’t want to be part of it, why did he join the hosting committee, if he never intended to host?

Tyler Perry will be feted at the Paley Honors gala, with friends Meghan Markle and Prince Harry among the star-studded list of tribute chairs.

Don’t worry! It just refers to her visiting Birkenhead wearing a red coat and purple dress and furiously bump clutching and coat flicking

Edited

The stock photos from her visit to Birkenhead show a lot more than bump clutching. I hasten to add that I don't believe they can be genuine.

This must have been a rare occasion when she wasn’t 😆

There is video footage if you look.

This display was posing and coat flipping to display her bump. It was bizarre.

Actually, the coat flicking on this occasion was to hide the bump.

But there is actual (very convincing) video footage, not just stock photo stills.

I'm still trying to make sense of it.

The Tyler Perry double grip on the claw. He wasn't having any of that!

That photo looks so weird, is he pulling her in close to him or keeping her at bay?

What an odd stance 😬

IMO it's just an unfortunate 'still' from a video where it's caught her a bit off balance when getting out the car. 2 secs later I'm sure she looked great

That was one of her best looks - the colours really suit her and the style was very flattering.

Once you've seen it......

And even Harry pointing it out at the start.

The actual video footage is available.

Believe me, she doesn't look great 2 seconds later. Harry points something out to her, and the coat flicking to hide the bump starts.

Edited to add: the outfit was a knockout - one of my favourites.

Just had a look at the photos and video from Birkenhead, she looked absolutely incredible, she has never looked as good as she did when she was in the RF for those short few months. .

Is that where the 'moonbump' theories originated? It is a real stretch of the imagination to think a moon bump could lose half its stuffing on a walkabout, it is totally unbelievable. I wonder if it was a maternity belly band she was wearing? and it came undone ?

For sure, she really did play up the pregnancy bump for publicity right from outset of her pregnancy, and I think the 'changing size' was due to her positioning her stance so her tummy protruded and that position wasn't always possible to maintain, but the moon bump theory is too far fetched in my view. (unless she was wearing one over a very neat little bump).

There was definitely a wardrobe malfunction.

TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis · 06/12/2024 15:05

I've always thought the moon bump theories showed a staggering lack of knowledge about pregnancy.

My friend and I had anterior placentae, and bump size and position could alter through the day.

The most extreme one, my friend has a big afternoon tea and ballooned up to a massive bump in the afternoon. The next morning you could see her abs! She didn't even look pregnant.

Did your friend's bump ever end up hanging at knee level, though?

Moonbumps are made from silicone. They have no 'stuffing' and can't 'deflate'.

I've seen the photos people are presumably referring to here. I think it's just the wind catching her dress. I don't like Meghan and her bump clutching was annoying, but the 'moonbump' conspiracy theories are daft.

Mylovelygreendress · 06/12/2024 15:39

I seem to recall a poster suggesting that Meghan was enhancing her bump with something?

Onlyonekenobe · 06/12/2024 15:58

The moonbump + surrogacy rumours are H&M doing a poor man’s version of Beyoncé’s “pregnancy” with Blue Ivy: footage of the bump folding in half as she sits down, $1.8m to shut down an entire floor of a maternity wing to ensure utmost secrecy/privacy, recorded footage of other patients visibly upset that they weren’t able to visit their wives/girlfriends/ babies for a whole day because of this etc. It all follows the same pattern re Archie’s birth.

But tbh, I totally understand. I might have done the same in their shoes (minus the awful coat flicking and attention seeking by meghan). That baby would grow to be a child and adult who will read stuff (like this) on the internet. The baby will have been hounded in the media from before it was born. Reminds me of QE2 saying that all she had for herself was her name and now they’ve taken that from her re Lilbet (not sure it’s true, but I get the principle re maintaining something for yourself, at least, when you’re in public service until literally your deathbed). I think they were trying to maintain some actual privacy (not “privacy” per other aspects of their lives) for their first baby. If they did use a surrogate, Kate and William’s example wasn’t one they could follow. I have a lot of sympathy with them on this.

The bottom line with H&M is people like to see other people get their just desserts. This is the schadenfreude around any possible marriage troubles, commercial failures, philanthropic failures, fashion fails. Harry and Meghan very publicly, and in considerable detail, listed the things they thought were wrong about his family, the UK, the tabloid press, modern society in general. Her family was publicly ghosted and she lied in court about it. They also told whoever would listen that they’re not like that, they can do better, they are going to leave all that toxicity behind and do better - that, in fact, they are better.

Tell someone they’re crap and that you’re better than them, especially when you’re actually and quite visibly not, of course the people you attack are going to come after you. There’s so much to be said for keeping your mouth shut. If they’d done this, none of this negativity would exist and in fact they’d probably be hugely more bankable than they are. Theirs is a classic emporer’s/wizard of oz clothes tale. People want to see the great reveal. It’s happening, in slow motion. That is every H&M thread on MN, ever.

isitsnowingyett · 06/12/2024 16:06

I loved the red and purple together.

BettyBlueSky · 07/12/2024 00:42

The moon bump rubbish is one of the things trolls were hoping the German Documentary would ‘expose.’ That Meghan did not carry her own children and tried to trick the Queen and rest of the Royal Family. It’s bonkers and deranged.

Some of them got very excited about this only to find themselves disappointed and they now have to hang their hopes on the next thing.

It’s par for the course with the RF . Certain posters still drag up the Diana / Charles interviews from the early 90s . One poster used to frequently recount Sarah’s interview ( fairly inoffensive compared to the OW interview) plus the number of books she has published . We are also frequently reminded about Edward and Sophie’s disastrous attempts at working outside the RF and just recently we have heard all about It’s a Royal Knockout from the 80s!
I could go on but I am sure you get my drift …..
On the other hand to discuss anything from Meghan’s very recent arrival into the public eye is frowned upon.
And talking of shit what about earlier this year ? “ where’s Kate ?” “ She is in a coma/dead etc etc “
That’s what I call shit . People commenting on an unusual situation is not shit .

It's ok to say what you think, and in general posters here explain why they think it.

And of course you don't have to look very far for negative posts about other members of the RF either (lazy money grabbing leeches being the one that's cropping up most often at the moment)

It’s not ok to say nasty , unsubstantiated things about anyone . Harry and Meghan and supporters take note .
