Harry not honouring Tyler Perry. Why?

Way back in July, it was announced that Harry and Meghan are tribute chairs for Tyler Perry and the award he will receive at the Paley honours Gala on December 4th. See

Now we are told, even though Tyler has helped his family over the years and is his daughter’s godfather, that Harry won’t be attending the gala even though he is on the hosting committee. Instead Meghan will be on her own? See

Why? It makes no sense. I understand that their work takes them different places but this is something they are both involved in. Harry is off to a book conference that just so happens to be on the 4th December, all the way in NY.

He was a chair of the committee and he doesn’t bother to show up? That’s really poor taste, for a man that has done so much for him.

It’s also just adding unnecessary fuel to fire that all is not well with their marriage. This is an event that they should be doing together, instead Meghan will be left to the red carpet on her own. If he didn’t want to be part of it, why did he join the hosting committee, if he never intended to host?

I’ve just a look at the photos. She seems to have hogged the limelight yes. Lots of photos of her posing on her own. Shoulders on display, minimal make up, she’s back to the wispy tendrils . Somehow I just find it really odd that they aren’t being seen doing anything together anymore. It’s probably a good tactic but what does it really mean? It does feel like they aren’t on the same page anymore. I wonder if they had a blazing row and one of them threw a strop or it was PR advice. Meghan seems to be back to the person she was before Harry, and he seems to be doing the same . Or as much the same as is possible in his changed circumstances.

I think the dress is ok. Not exciting but at least she’s not trying to steal all the attention like she did at that LA children’s hospital event

I just honestly don’t understand why she’s even appearing at these things. She isn’t anyone in her own right . What’s the point of it?

I don’t think she’s using a stylist.

I think the look is a bit dated ( but she looks perfectly nice) but the strappy heels aren’t done on the red carpet that much these days. We’ve returned to a matching court shoe, in lovely satins etc.

Why all the posts about Meghan's personal appearance which is sinking a bit low isn't it on a site that is supporting of women? She looks perfectly fine to me and probably scrubs up a lot better than most of us can achieve! Do we have to sink to the level of the Daily Mail?

Edited to say: have just checked and actually the DM has covered this fully and reasonably positively for once which is interesting. There's one paragraph of negativity at the end but the coverage is generally positive with lots of nice pictures. I find this turn around quite interesting? Is it be abuse of recent court cases? Or does it indicate a change in tune?

She's clearly chosen to focus on what she enjoys - being photographed and getting lots of attention. At least this is more authentic than pretending to be a feminist philanthropist, when really all she has ever wanted is to have her picture in the paper.

As a couple they are very interesting. She is obviously motivated by media attention (and loves it) and he claims to be the total opposite.

At the exact time as she’s playing up for the cameras, Harry said this at Dealbook:

"Apparently, we've bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We've apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it's just like, what?'"

I mean the guy and his wife put out stuff in people, page six etc all the time. He’s such a hypocrite.

Harry wants media attention too, he just expects it to be completely positive all the time. He never complained when he was getting good press.

Meghan, when she isn't with Harry, seems to understand that media attention isn't always positive and is prepared to play the game.

Maybe this is why their messaging as a couple is so weird and full of easy to prove lies.

I don't follow the news religiously, but I've never seen anything that claims they're getting a divorce, or that they've moved house - not once, let alone 12 times!

I have seen rumours (on forums and social media, not in the press) that they're house hunting, or that their marriage is in trouble and they might be heading for a split - but that's a totally different thing.

Ironically the only headlines I've ever seen making bold claims that they're living separate lives or whatever - are in the American tabloids (that don't exist according to Harry)

I must admit it’s one of her better looks. It fits, isn’t creased and is fairly simple. There’s something slightly off about it that I can’t quite put my finger on but otherwise it’s a good look. Nice simple hair and make up too. Her toes look like they’re struggling in those strappy shoes though, I think a nice court shoe would have been better and a bit more on trend.

That old chestnut - supporting other women blah blah.... we can comment on what she wears if we want to. That's what she puts herself out there about - fashion. There are plenty of sites that give fawning reports on what Meghan wears day in and day out and dupes for the wannabes.

The dress is uncreased and fits so that’s good but I just don’t like the overall look . It looks a bit dated.
She has nice shoulders and arms but I don’t like her tendency for front splits; they do nothing for her.

Leaving aside the question of why she is in a back alley

I like that look, I agree about the toes but most actresses wear shoes like that. She seems to be going back to her previous style which is good because in her Suits days she chose clothes that looked good on her.

The other image was awkwardly shot. This gives a better idea of Meghan’s look for the night. I don’t like trains on dresses, but other than that Meghan looks very sophisticated. She really likes to keep her look simple and it works.
