Meg’s era of joy

Showing up to support her very close friend who lost her child and also the children’s hospital at an evening gala. What a friend to have in the Duchess. Meghan was glowing, fresh faced, wore minimal makeup, was confidant and smiley. She was well spoken and supportive of the evening fund raiser when interviewed. Show Up, Do Good. Yes, she always does. Loved her look too.

Lol who said I'm upset, just you again speculating I am but you sont actually know for a fact. You decide my posts are a certainty ype away but I tell you they aren't but you believe what you want to.

I don't care enough to remember who I am responding to I posts and no doubt I'll prbably some back and do the same again some other time, I don't have headache to remember anonymous people on a forum and who to avoid . This is just somewhere I srop into when I've nothing else to do when I'm commuting.

So sorry I can't guarantee to remmeber your name and steer clear of your posts, you do post quote a lot!

Funny how you said that you wouldn't remember @BigWillyLittleTodger and immediately followed that comment up with a remark about how often Willy posts!! Which one is it?

I kinda wish you'd take the car to work.

And the threads only died down because no-one was willing to keep pushing the nasty narrative when she explained what was wrong - as that would have shown them as the pathetic arseholes they were.

Yes , a few prolific posters disappeared overnight !

Well they are the one saying i need to stop commenting on their posts, I didn't realise I was. I pop on and see the latest comment, if that's the comment I respond to that's it, if that happens to be their post well then they must post alot then. A numbers game, the more you post than of course the more likley I would see it when I come here. 💁‍♀️

You are being very disingenuous here. If you can't recall who the poster is, how do you know how often they post? You can never give a straight answer, can you?

Anyone else that's still here.

What did you think of Suits if you watched it?

Late to this party but I couldn't get past the first episode.

Dh liked it though but he has no taste

Because the poster told me I keep responding to them that's how and based on how I use this forum they must post alot because like just now I came on here saw your comment and I didn't even look at your name I just clicked respond. That's how I am when I come on this forum. I see a comment in the last few that show up on my screen and click respond, who wrote it isn't something I check.

I get out loads thank you; although I am blessed to wfh, I also go to meetings in various locations all over the country, but I never need to use public transport because I use my car, and get travel expenses.

I would never be in the position to post on MN during a 'commute'. I'd hate that.

I'd love it. Good way of passing the time.

Well seeing as Lizzy was actually at the top table of this event and therefore a more important attendee than Meghan who wasn’t, then yes Meghan practically wore the same dress as Lizzy.

Depends who arrived first....

Well I'd hate to have to commute to work on public transport, but you do you! I did it when I lived in London years ago, and I far prefer being able to drive myself wherever I need to go!

TheMarkOfTheBeastIsLol · 10/10/2024 23:44

I don’t think it matters who arrived first or who dressed like the other one.

What really matters is that someone was invited to be on the top table and someone else was reduced to shoving her mate’s hand beside her genitals.

I really liked it for the first two-three seasons but I’m a sucker for a law procedural and a character with a special gift.

I loved Donna and Louis Litt.

I never really noticed Meghan particularly - thought she was a good occasional girlfriend character - I thought she was very pretty but the character didn’t have much to do with the plot in the first few seasons.

When I saw the headline that Harry was dating a Suits actress I had to Google her because I didn’t recognize the name.

She definitely wasn’t name famous despite what the squad likes to claim.

I do remember looking up her IMDB at the time and then thinking it was such a shame for her when they got married that she’d just had her first big break with a season regular role and now she’d finally got to a certain level of success she was going to have to give it all up.

Yet the organiser saw fit to single Meghan out for praise despite her not being at the top table.

'I was also beyond grateful to share in this beautiful evening with one of my closest friends,' she wrote on the post.
'Meg, your commitment to supporting Children's Hospital Los Angeles and community is truly inspiring. I'm so grateful to have you by my side.'

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 11/10/2024 06:08

I don’t know what to make of any of it. They must all be exhausted with the shenanigans.

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 11/10/2024 06:35

I have a (probably unfair) idea of how things went. Meghan wasn't going to go, didn't have a ticket etc. However, Meghan finds herself starved of the oxygen of publicity and self promotion, while her husband is having what seems to be a successful trip abroad. A combination of innate craving for attention and a persistant (though perhaps subconscious) desire to eclipse everyone, including her own husband, leads to a phonecall:

M: Tell you what. Why don't I put on a frock and come to the do?

Friend: Er...all the tables are taken
M: That's OK. I'll come anyway. Think of the wonderful publicity.
Friend: You will look mental, turning up to a posh gala, all glammed up without a ticket. Don't do it.
M:Oh, it's no bother. See you in five.

If Meghan had paid for a ticket, or if she personally (or Archewell ) had made a donation to the children's hospital then I might agree with you. Do we know if this is the case? If it's true, then fair play to her - but I'm sure we'd have heard.

If not, this comment is pretty meaningless and sounds to me like something Meghan would have asked her friend to say - all in the very good cause of The Rehabilitation of Meghan after the recent scandals.

Why would she leave early if she had paid for her place?

  • too embarrassed to sit through the meal and make conversation after the scandals
  • Attention span of a gnat when the occasion isn't about her and couldn't be bothered
  • She hadn't actually got a 'ticket'.
CoffeeCantata · 11/10/2024 07:03

We know Meghan is a self-confessed 'hugger', and she does seem to need to grab whoever she's with very forcefully indeed - often making them extremely uncomfortable. Her friend looked really embarrassed in those photos and Harry often looks like a hostage when she's grabbing him with both arms.

They have apparently been very close for 10 years, yet Kelly wasn't invited to the wedding despite Meghan inviting others whom she hadn't met. I read your quote as Hollywood PR meaningless puff, the type of soundbite written by an agent, not a friend.
I think some friendships in Hollywood are genuine, e.g. Jennifer Anniston and Courtney Cox, but they don't tend to write that type of flowery guff about each other, you just see them together at events.

An interesting article in the Times of India

Lizzie Cundy, 56, who also attended the event last Saturday, stated that Meghan's sole purpose for showing up was "for the photographs."
