Meg’s era of joy

Showing up to support her very close friend who lost her child and also the children’s hospital at an evening gala. What a friend to have in the Duchess. Meghan was glowing, fresh faced, wore minimal makeup, was confidant and smiley. She was well spoken and supportive of the evening fund raiser when interviewed. Show Up, Do Good. Yes, she always does. Loved her look too.

I’m just glad I’m not the only one thinking she looks like a trans woman now. I can’t unsee it.

This was my first thought too. She used to look lovely and feminine, how has she done it? Just weight loss? It's a shame for her.

It is sad that people feel they have to modify features that they have naturally due to heritage/race in pursuit of a false ideal of beauty but I wouldn't blame them for it, especially in the entertainment field. The fault is with society that fetishises youth and a very narrow, rather warped, definition of what is attractive.

It's always gone on in Hollywood of course but seems to be becoming more generally pervasive and extreme. I imagine having your bags done (I've been tempted, they're inherited)/a well done facelift at the right time could work very well, but now it's fillersfillersfillers botoxbotoxbotox etc and people end up looking very strange (they certainly don't look younger)

Genuinely hope that Meghan knows when to stop. She was and remains very attractive.

I think it becomes addictive - the first time you get a huge boost by how attractive you feel and how many compliments you get on how well you look. Then you keep chasing that high - at some point I guess you lose perspective on what you are seeing in the mirror.

Twistybranch · 09/10/2024 14:36

Jenni Aniston I think is aging fast too because she was always a sun worshiper and smoker. You can have as much money for fancy treatments as you want, but you can’t fix that.

Some bad filler around her mouth/chin, coupled with the fact that when we age everything goes south. So having already a large jaw, looks so much larger now. She also does heavy brows, which doesn’t suit her colouring or face shape. She needs to go back to the brows she had 15 years ago.

She has the same issue as Meghan.

Meghan looks different because she has lost a lot of weight. She never looks that thin because she has such a short torso, that she will always look thick around the waist but there’s absolutely nothing on her. She needs some fat in her face, it’s all gone. That’s what gives a harshness to her look. Her eyebrows are too dark, too heavy and too straight for her. These gives that manly look. But it’s also the hair. Usually if she does a mid parting, the hair falls forming a small triangle of forehead showing. This look, pushed back, creates a large open square shape on the forehead. Which she doesn’t suit and has created a square shaped face for meghan instead of round. So the heavy square line of face/eyebrows has lead to this harsh look for her.

Yes. Eg Simon Cowell looked absolutely fine before ..whatever he's done to himself. He seems an intelligent man and it must be some sort of dysmorphia.

SidekickSylvia · 09/10/2024 14:49

There's a strange Hollywood look at the moment for people aged around 50. I think it's the effect Ozempic has on the face, leaving a gaunt look, then overcompensating with filler. It can leave women looking either haunted, or a bit Bo Selecta. Neither is a good look but apparently it looks even worse face to face than it does on film.

BasiliskStare · 09/10/2024 15:08

I don't think you need to as skinny as a rake to be attractive. I'm not sure whether M being much thinner looks good on her - not now I look at it the other work. She does have a short upper frame so will never be willowy - I think she should settle for a healthy weight and shape.

But But I am one who has never had to rely on my looks for a living ( very good job I tell you 😀- I would not have earned a penny ) But I am attractive enough and I don't scare the horses - so I would not undergo any unecessary procedure
Then again I don't live in a Hollywood style bubble. I do think Courtney Cox has gone too far - she was good looking and I suspect would have aged well But then I know nothing of the peer pressure they re under.

MaturingCheeseball · 09/10/2024 15:09

People kind of end up looking the same. Jennifer Anniston looks like Christina Applegate now. And as for men - their surgery makes them look like strange ladies, eg Paul McCartney, and as for Paul Stanley (Kiss)…..

It's very weird with Meghan, because I assume she's not expecting to return to an acting role? I get that, in the acting world of Hollywood, there are ridiculous expectations as to appearance. But she doesn't need any of that.

All she needs to do is stay healthily trim - I don't believe for a minute that her face was showing age in an unattractive way - why are people so afraid of a few crow's feet? For my money she could put on half a stone (maybe more) and actually look younger.

If you think of men or women you personally find attractive, would you say that a few lines turn you off? They certainly don't, for me. OK, putting on huge amounts of weight might - that IS ageing - but I think normal ageing is not unattractive. But M has chosen to dwell in La La Land...

Thedownsideisup · 09/10/2024 15:34

I suspect M is attempting to copy Catherine by being so thin. She looked better when she was curvier in my opinion.

I hope not because she's on a hiding to nothing, they have completely different body shapes. Meghan will never be able to persuade her body into the same shape as Catherine's, their proportions are so different.

JSMill · 09/10/2024 16:07

I wondered if she lost so much weight because she got a shock at the change in her body shape caused by pregnancy weight gain. I know I did after having my first ds and I would have definitely leapt at the chance of weight loss jabs if they had existed back then.

I think she took some ozempic or similar to lose it.

Just seen Pamela Anderson at an awards ceremony - now there’s someone aging gracefully - which is totally weird because her early career was completely based on an extreme stereotype of female beauty.

wordler · 09/10/2024 17:20

Pic didn’t add - so she’s clearly doing some things but not trying to deny the aging process completely.

Twistybranch · 09/10/2024 17:31

It could just be stress that she’s lost so much weight.

She has to get a lot of things right in the next few years to keep the millions rolling in. And it’s on her shoulders. Harry’s new ‘statesman’ world wide tour…not only will not not bring in any money- they are paying for that vanity project. So she has to work to finance Harry enacting revenge on his brother for having an extra sausage as a kid. I’d be stressed too….but I’m the other side…I’d be reaching for the doughnuts!

JSMill · 09/10/2024 17:39

It's interesting you say that she's under a lot of stress @Twistybranch because she was the one who talked about 'thriving not just surviving'.

I’m not sure why you think she’s responsible for making the money. Any money she’s made is on the back of her title and being married to Harry and she’s done it with him. He’s brought in the money, in spare. In the Netflix doc. It’s not Megan. The only thing she did was Spotify and she faked nearly all her podcasts.

Edited

I’d not use Pamela, Pamela has a very difficult back story. One I won’t go into as it’s unedifying but you can spend some time looking it up. She’s going for this clean natural look for reasons that are very different to embracing ageing.

Well I’ve googled and read several articles and I’m not sure what you mean with unedifying - the things that happened to her in her youth? Or something she did?

Also didn’t realize one of her first TV jobs was Married with Children - wonder if she saw Meghan on set!

What are you talking about? She is absolutely embracing ageing.

She talks about it in her book and documentary. She's an Island girl like me and very hippy dippy. I've met her and she's very down to earth and natural. She's also gorgeous at any age.

True but moving forward, they are splitting their work and she is responsible for the commercial side of the business, while he saves …endangered sick something …..in something country

Harrys Spare money won’t last forever with the way they spend. This is why she has the jam plan

BasiliskStare · 09/10/2024 18:01

@CoffeeCantata I give you Michael Kitchen

Aging gracefully with crinkly eyes and somewhat follically challenged Oh My Goodness I think he is just preternaturally attractive . Not sure if it's easier for men

@TofeeFurs

"But making derogatory comments about a black (mixed race / African American) woman's hair is not on. While the poster probably doesn't have any racist intention, it's a really inappropriate comment."

Why is this the case?
Is it inappropriate to talk about Beyoncé's hair ?
Or Kim Kardashian's?
Or the Princess of Wales hair?

Or Lili's?

I love Jennifer, her looks, her style, her acting but the last couple of times I’ve seen her I thought her face looked off. I think sometimes they go just one more procedure too far and it puts their face off kilter. I don’t think Meghan is quite there yet but she will be if she doesn’t stop whatever it is she’s doing. If it’s Ozempic then she really does not need it.
