I miss the old common and garden variety of republican poster. At least they had specific understandable arguments and goals for celebrating RF missteps.

The Sussex cult is such a prime example of these bizarre modern-day fandoms which turn incredibly tribal. And seem to operate on the model of 'we can only raise our favourite by bringing everyone else down'.

And we can see how toxic and dangerous that can be with the most terrible of personality cults in Trump.

It's even worrying and potentially dangerous when the object of the cult is not a toxic personality and seems to be doing their best to be on the side of the light - like Taylor Swift.

I admit I think the video was a bit twee, but the words weren’t. I do wonder if Catherine was thinking of her children when making the video - and wanted it to be one that they could watch and enjoy/ be a part of.

As someone who also has cancer I found it to be heartfelt. Life does change in a second. I laughed (naively) when I told my husband they we’re testing me for ovarian cancer - lo and behold, it was definitely not a ‘just in case’ test.

Also Catherine may have experienced delays in diagnosis. She may well have another underlying illness that has predisposed her to cancer. Eg: from memory, Ulcerative Colitis (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) lead to bowel cancer, once you’ve had UC for years.
Its possible that a rise in UC symptoms were blamed on stress for a while - by Drs and Catherine. The cancer wasn’t found till pathology results after her operation. It’s not necessarily been a straightforward ‘journey’ from the beginning. Cancer is insidious whether you are rich or not so rich.

Well I'm glad I was asleep and missed the evening shift being unpleasant.

I'm not observant enough to track name changes but it's obvious it's happening. I wish these devout Sussex fans would stop and wonder whether Harry and Meghan would really be onboard with the nasty stuff they keep posting. I don't think they would and I do wonder if the reason they don't speak out about their Squad is because they are afraid of provoking a backlash.

I'm really sorry to hear about your ovarian cancer diagnosis. My dh suffered from IBS for years and his consultant decided to do a colonoscopy 'just in case'. After he did it he said he'd be shocked if there was anything sinister in the biopsies he took. We were so reassured by that I didn't even go with dh to the follow up. When dh went, the consultant said ' isn’t your wife with you' and he knew it was cancer. It totally knocked us for six and I felt so foolish for thinking everything would be fine. I never thought about the mental health aspect of a cancer diagnosis before.
