What nonsense. Have a look at this thread (and the other one). She obviously can do wrong in some people's eyes, just for existing. She's getting an absolute hammering on here. Have you seen the number of deletions? Some vile comments.

It’s a lovely uplifting video, a bit cheesy for my tastes but a good message to put out there. This is how I’m doing, this is what’s important to me, this is the future Royal Family, things are going to be ok but they’re going to look different in the future.

Although she talks about going back to work, I think it’s clear she’s managing expectations with this video and good for her. IMHO this nine months break has been a good thing in calming down the public demand for updates and I hope it continues.

Hideous that people feel the need to make nasty comments about someone recovering from or possibly living with cancer.

I hardly think she can do no wrong, were you not aware of the horrible things aimed at her when she was sick? Just the vilification alone on the Mothers Day photo was ridiculous and cruel.

Meghan is an attention seeker, Catherine isn’t. Yes it was a little schmalzy but it’s not like she’s in our face everyday getting up to stupid pap walks in car parks and what have you.

I think the video is a bit twee but also very heartfelt. It is unequivocally saying we love our children and each other and Kate's illness and treatment have been terrifying and continue to cast a shadow. Even with all the staging they are sharing something genuine.

It really is a lovely video and I'm not normally a sentimental sort.

Production was slick but the content was from the heart.

Like many others on this thread who've had experiences with cancer and other serious illness in the family, I felt every word, especially the parts about severe illness coming out of nowhere and the most important things in life being the people you love and being loved by them.

It's incredible how people can come on here and be mean after everything she's been through this year. Rather than just not comment at all.
People's capacity for unkindness is always pretty shocking, and a real reflection on them as people.

Crazy how some people hate to see a happy family!

I really want Charles to do a promo film in a similar vein now. Brushing his sausage fingers past some long grass, pushing Camilla on a swing…it would be perfect and equally daft.

the sepia tones, the heavy music, the romantic settings all seemed unnecessary, like a cinema version of cancer rather than the gritty painful reality. I don’t know, it didn’t sit right with me

For me I thought it came across very much like, I'm better but don't expect me to do too much going forward. Yes I can totally understand why that would be the case, but my thoughts did drift to all the ordinary people who have had cancer who would probably have to get straight back to work and not have the luxury of a really full recuperation period. And also, I don't think Kate has ever come across as particularly hard working at the best of times. But like I said, it's good news that she's better.

I hope that no-one wishes Meghan to be diagnosed with cancer, so she is never in a position to need to release such a video.

But just because everyone doesn’t have the luxury of time off doesn’t mean she shouldn’t, surely? There’s a lesson here for those who choose to hear it. Hopefully this will make us all think how we can better support those people in our lives who need time to recover from serious illness.
