I struggle to articulate just how deluded, arrogant and so far up their own arses H&M are.

The words haven’t been invented yet because these two are so uniquely absurd.

Don’t get me wrong she’s no meryl. But she’s a decent actress for a cable show. I also think all the hanging off Harry can’t keep her hands off him, knee touching, back stroking, swooning, is an act. Very few couples, if any, several years down the line, with a couple of kids, can’t keep their hands off each other like that and act like newly weds. I’m one hundred percent sure she does it for the cameras.

on the flip side, if a man was treating a woman like that, we’d all think he was some weird possessive controlling twat.

The constant touching feels to me like control and messaging for Pavlovian-like responses. It can be dressed up by their fans as romantic pda. But sometimes it's not so romantic. I don't know if anyone saw the way she elbows him sometimes. She did it at that polo match in Florida for Sentebale when she wanted him out of her way for a photo with another fellow. She also did it in Colombia when he was seemingly engrossed by the lady translating for him - she flashes her knee and tries to elbow him. And of course she was caught barking, "Hand!" at him.

Also, at the ESPY thing, compare the photos of Harry just with Serena and Harry and Serena when Meghan joins them. Meghan seems to change the energy wherever she goes.

Let's face it, the launch of ARO has been an absolute disaster! She launched the website back in when - April? May? She had no products to sell at that point and hadn't even trademarked the name, got licensing and trademarking agreements in place for the products she wanted to sell, or even got her marketing materials in place. Why on earth she rushed the launch of the website I'll never know, but she and 'H' have form for rushing things, don't they?!

Anyway, at the time it was promised that she'd have products etc, 'in the spring'. Well, it was already the spring and now it's the autumn and there hasn't been any movement at all on the brand in months. She sent a few jars of jam to celeb influencers and she's apparently filmed a cookery show that seems to have flopped with test audiences and there is no date or information about when, which channel, or even IF it will ever air. The whole thing is an amateurish balls-up. Attention to detail, my arse! She couldn't run a fucking bath.

It was launched in March . “ Brand experts “ reckoned she would make millions in first 6 months …..

@coolmum123 yes I saw that video. She was marching to the car and apparently not giving a damn where her dh was. However what stood out the most for me was that she wasn't carrying a single bag. She was leaving it to one of the lackeys.

one of the lackeys.

I thought it was Harry carrying the bags but pot-ey-to po-tah-to 😂

JSMill · 05/09/2024 13:14

It was either H or a lackey but it certainly wasn't M. Apparently she's too good for that. H also seemed to be walking a bit slowly as if trying to hang back.

According to her supporters she was desperate to get back to her children !!

thecrossIambearing · 05/09/2024 13:19

Yes it was one second in time when you cannot judge anything unless it is the RF 🙄

Abouttimeforanamechange · 05/09/2024 13:20

But she wanted the wealth and adulation to be about her and not as a plus one

She wouldn't have got wealth and adulation - but she could have won respect separately from her husband, as Camilla, Sophie and Catherine have done, by identifying areas in which they could make a contribution, and getting on with it. But that would mean actual work, much of it unreported.

I never understood how ARO was supposed to work. To generate the sort of income they were looking for they'd have had to be shifting stock on the scale of Amazon. But if they're doing that, how is it yoonique or exclusive? What's the USP?

(And where's the actual product, the staff, the warehousing, the IT systems, they'd need? Who have they signed contracts with to supply any of those things?)

Nothing was enough for Megsie, she is greedy, grabby and self important, a narcissist with huge delusions of grandeur. I would love to know what Anne (in private) had to say about her behaviour . She may even have told her to "naff off".😁

Yes - she had to be No. 1 - nothing else would do.

Someone on another thread said that Meghan had had problems with the concept of protocol in the RF. I would say she doesn't have a problem with protocol per se, as long as she's the top dog. We see this on their tours, where she just loves the adulation, ceremony and hierarchy. She just had a problem with Catherine walking in front of her and so set out to destroy her reputation and confidence.

SadOrWickedFairy · 05/09/2024 13:44

I never understood how ARO was supposed to work.

Me neither, it is a complete mish-mash of proposed products, how can that be exclusive or unique? There seems no rhyme or reason to the products they have listed, they are not a showcase of unique items only found in that area, particular to that area. Just strange. Was it meant to be an upmarket Martha Stewart type venture? As you say to make the kind of money they aspire to they would need to shift a hell of a lot of stock certainly more than a few dozen jars of jam. Who is going to produce this stock? Where is it being sourced from? Where is it being stored? Warehousing? Delivery?

I can't imagine Meghan actually eating jam to be honest, it just doesn't seem to be a product she would be interested in.

I don't know, I get the feeling H&M are just flinging ideas for making money at a wall hoping one of them will stick but are not prepared to actually put in the work (or pay people who know what they are doing to do the work for them) to make a success of them.

Well she was, until she started big spending. Her engagement dress alone was 75 grand, Charles told Harry she’d have to buy her own clothing at one point, as the bill was so high on an ongoing basis. It was one of Harry’s complaints, couldn’t believe his father wasn’t going to foot the bill for Megan’s wardrobe for ever.

£75 GRAND for a DRESS!?! Is that the one she wore for the TV interview? But we only saw it from the waist up! what a monumental waste of money!

I think it was the one worn in the very fashion shooty official engagement photos.

Apparently the dress cost £56,000.

Pineapplesandthegovernmentandpunkrock · 05/09/2024 14:47

Yes, it was the one in the engagement photo. I think it had a see-through bodice, which was inappropriate. She did look lovely though.

But you're forgetting! It was a spectacle for the peasants to enjoy, like the wedding. A special gift from Meghan to the hoi-polloi.

She seems to have a bit of a thing for wearing revealing ball gown style dresses in a slightly jarring, inappropriate setting. Like at the Nigerian school with that did awful blush side boob number, and the black evening skirt in Jamaica

SadOrWickedFairy · 05/09/2024 15:00

I wonder if the dress was actually bought or whether it was loaned/hired, seems an awful lot to spend on a dress for a photo shoot and the dress has not seen the light of day since.

I think they were trying to copy the Highgrove model without understanding anything about it. They seem to want to copy other people in a lot of what they do. They aren't original thinkers.

SadOrWickedFairy · 05/09/2024 15:02

Just trying to imagine the conversation with Prince Charles (at the time) regarding the purchase of the dress Hey dad need £56,000 for a dress for Meghan to wear for our engagement photos and PC doing a very sharp intake of breath!

SirChenjins · 05/09/2024 15:04

Surely the engagement dress was loaned??

I am sure you are right but if you are going to do that then you need people who know what they are doing (and to listen to them) to get it off the ground. The Highgrove model/Duchy Originals wasn't done by KC toiling away alone over a pan of boiling jam.

Constantly watching yourself is the opposite of acting and why actors, who do this are unable to fool the audience and look fake. A decent actor is someone, who has allowed their inner most self to be exposed and been through the agony of allowing themself to be broken down, to let go, so they can play someone else and become something new. From that point, the craft can be honed and not before.

Abouttimeforanamechange · 05/09/2024 15:11

Just trying to imagine the conversation with Prince Charles (at the time) regarding the purchase of the dress....

I read that at their evening reception, Charles admired the firework display.
'Who paid for it?'
'You did, Pa.'
Charles hosted and paid for their reception, but according to Omid Scobie in FF, it went way over budget. Which you'd think is something they wouldn't want publicised, but the info must have come from them.
