Marrying a prince must have been like winning the lottery.

Unfortunately for Meghan, she married the Omaze house.

It’s quite sad seeing those ads. She was in her element swishing and sashaying around. That’s all she really wanted to do by the looks of things. Be in the limelight and act a bit.

Who knows what would have happened if she hadn’t met Harry.

I can’t help but think she’d have been happier and had a more normal life.

The royal family is not a walk in the park despite all the money and fame.

No one forced her to marry Harry. She was on the lookout for a rich British husband .

Her perception of the RF was just way, way off wasn’t it. She thought it would be worldwide fame, glamour, unimaginable wealth but the reality was so different.
I feel a tiny bit sorry for her.

She was an adult. She'd been round the block.
If you're marrying into the RF then most people would do a bit of research.
If I married into, say, the Royal House of Liechtenstein, I'd certainly find out what the role would entail, any strictures, cultural issues and - oh, I'd learn the National Anthem.
I certainly wouldn't consider myself to be so special that everything would change for me.

But it did bring those things. In bucket loads. Leaving the royal family and selling them out is what did for her.

She'd been round the block.

A few times, I would have thought (not talking near-catastrophic car chases here).
Maybe that's why she's looking a bit off balance in those photos: dizziness.

I have commented on this previously, that whenever Harry does something by himself (with the exception of promoting Spare), Meghan always seems to arrange a pap-walk or similar. It's as if she cannot bear not to insert herself into the narrative somehow. Very peculiar behaviour.

And another thought - Harry grew up feeling second best to his brother, so I suppose replicating that dynamic in his marriage is actually very comfortable for him, although he probably isn't aware of this.

It was all of that (being a senior royal gives you worldwide fame, gives you glamour - any designer and red carpet event you want - and access to anything you want even if your purse is empty). Her issue was she wanted to be top dog and that was never going to happen.

I don’t feel sorry for her. For someone with a ‘freakish eye for detail’ she seems proud of the fact she did no research on what it means to be part of the RF. Forever boasting she never googled about the RF as if that was commendable. You wouldn’t interview for a job at Google or Apple without researching everything you can about it first.

Exactly, she married into billionaires, harry himself a multi multi millionaire. She had the clooneys at her wedding, Oprah clambering for an interview. She became globally famous. Her wedding televised.

what she wanted was to be no 1, live in America, hang out with a listers, and that’s now what being royal is. She married Harry to enable her to get that. And for a brief moment after they left they had it, the big contracts, dinner with th4 clooneys and gwneth, the house in montecito, the illustrious neighbours. Global fame. Marrying Harry gave her what she wanted. For a brief moment before they shit the bed they were even hugely popular.

and then they fucked it up, and squandered much of it. But marrying into British royalty absolutely provided unimaginable wealth, global fame, huge glamour. She chucked it away as she wanted more.

I find it telling that she reportedly couldn’t believe that she wasn’t getting paid for public appearances when on tour etc. She actually didn’t seem to realise that she didn’t need to be paid because being part of the RF transcends all that. It is a key that opens many doors, giving access to things money cannot buy. For some reason she seemed to want to downgrade this to getting a wage 🤷‍♀️

I suspect that was rooted in she didn’t want to do it. The sort of petty rebellion and complaint made when you don’t want to do something. She only wanted to do the glamourous stuff that she decided she wished to do. She knew they were paid another way. I think Charles gave them 3 million a year, frogmore fully renovated was being provided, full security. I mean they had everything they needed. And more.

I think she failed to realise that the RF pay for their clothes, handbags etc. They return unsolicited goods

But she surely must have realised that she was now in receipt of a hugely generous clothing allowance from her FIL and that she could buy or have made bespoke pretty much anything she wants.

I suspect she's just a good actress; she always looks enthralled with everyone, which can't be the case. If she genuinely still thinks he's the bees knees, despite all evidence to the contrary, then she's deluded as well as enthralled.

Did he grow up feeling second best? He always seemed to be having a great time, free of the responsibilities that William will have. The second best issue has only cropped up since Megan arrived and seemed rather put out that Harry wasn't likely to be King and that they have to defer to the Wales family. Harry seemed absolutely fine with it before that.

Well she was, until she started big spending. Her engagement dress alone was 75 grand, Charles told Harry she’d have to buy her own clothing at one point, as the bill was so high on an ongoing basis. It was one of Harry’s complaints, couldn’t believe his father wasn’t going to foot the bill for Megan’s wardrobe for ever.
