I really don’t think there is a ‘contest’ other than in the minds of parts of the media. One brother will be King in time and the other brother wants to leave a meaningful legacy in his own right. So far both are doing a great job in carving out their own lives. I hope the brothers come to a point in time where they can be friends again. Life is too short to hold on to anger. The media doesn’t help by embroiling itself in their relationship - or lack thereof currently. I think many people in many countries would love to see a sense of family togetherness again with all of the current King’s grandchildren getting to know one another. It would show how a public facing family can overcome its own difficulties if KCIII could bring both brothers into line again. It’s time to stop painting Harry as the black sheep of the family. It hasn’t worked, it just drives more dissent and anti monarchy feeling in the younger generation. If we are to have a King William and a King George then the younger generation do need to see the institution as worth holding onto. As Harry is clearly active on the world stage harnessing his global appeal would be an advantageous move by the current King.

Interesting - given we know that Meghan was of course passing information to Omid Scobie for use in Finding Freedom.

Also interesting given just before the story came out, Meghan and Harry were catching up with Eugenie and Jack - they went out on the town in Toronto for a Halloween party. This was mentioned in their Netflix documentary, along with photos, as shown here in a DM article.

It’s also interesting to see what was actually said in Camilla Tominey’s 2016 article that broke the story. They comments are credited to “friends” and the “insider” / “royal source”:

Friends say Harry has been treated to [Meghan’s] “excellent cooking” and they both enjoy yoga. She has stayed with him at Kensington Palace and met the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

“William and Kate really liked her and she fitted in straight away,” added the insider

“Meghan is a very confident and intelligent woman and she’s not overawed mixing with royalty. That’s one of the things Harry admires about her.”

The source added: “Harry loves to hear about Meghan’s humanitarian work and he thinks she’s doing a fantastic job.

“She is sassy, smart and vivacious and he just adores her love of life. There is a definite meeting of minds between them as well as a physical attraction. The romance is in its early stages but it’s no exaggeration to say he’s besotted with her.”

Leaked by the Palace, was it? Yeah, right.

Except this was after the Palace in all probability gave Camilla Tominey her world exclusive that Harry and Meghan were dating.

Eugenie doesn’t appear to be the sharpest, and her dh dimmer still. They were the route to Harry. Played like a Stradivarius.

So she knew Eugenie, partied with her, and yet later on had absolutely no idea who Prince Andrew was, mistakenly thinking he was the late Queen's assistant 🤔

In a nutshell. She obviously used Eugenie.

@Nadeed I asked similar questions to @LimeBiscuit who has mysteriously disappeared. Can you ask what purpose Harry had in disclosing this information listed in the questions by @PoppysAunt ?
I don't believe the Palace would ever have mentioned them and I do think they are too intrusive for Harry to talk about

Tumbleweed because I have been busy. Just looked at my notifications.
The Palace leak stories for several reasons, but one of them is as a trade off. Many journalists have spoken about this. Journalists source a slightly shocking story about a senior Royal and go to the Palace for comments, as is good practice. The Palace say - if you do not publish that story, we will give you a juicier story instead. This is where Harry has been useful. The story given has to be more shocking than the story they are trying to suppress, otherwise the journalists would not play.

What about all those stories in Spare? You said he leaked them before the Palace did. I asked you about specific revelations and questioned whether the Palace would even know?

I have posted lots of comments in reply to your questions. I am not going to keep repeating myself. Just read the thread.

@Nadeed lots of people have asked specific questions and you come back with vagaries about how BP etc leak against Harry to cover up for other royals. It doesn't hold up against what Harry chose to disclose, stuff that BP couldn't possibly have known about and things that actually have put other people in the firing line because he chose to do so.

I'll ask again, what do you think about him making the at the time teenage girl who he first had sex with a target of the Press he despises? She's just an ordinary woman and can't hide behind the privilege that he does. What do you think about his description of the matron he mocked? I've see her name identified, fortunately she/her family seem to have been left in peace, no thanks to him.

Do you not feel that he did these things without a single thought for the potential consequences for people who do not have the resources that he has to protect themselves?

@Uricon2 you are under the mistaken assumption that I am a Harry fan and will defend everything eh says and does. I am not.
I only commented on here to explain the PR strategy he was using in Spare. There were comments saying (I paraphrase) that it was crazy to publish so many intimate stories about himself. I was explaining that it makes perfect sense as a PR strategy. Because the Palace leaks stories about Harry to kill stories about more senior Royals.

Just to add, I am surprised that so many posters on here have talked about Kate. I thought her name was Catherine?
