4/Empowers her 3 year old not to sit in silence

There is an opinion column in the Telegraph today that completely takes the piss out of her for saying her 3 year old has “found her voice”, but also pointing out that this is a stealth boast which could make others feel their parenting is inadequate. Way to go feminist sister Meghan 🙄😂😂

My 4 year old found her voice too at 3

"NO MAMA!!"
' I WANT PASTA AND PESTO NOT CHEESY PASTA 😭😭"

Making sure that his granny has the right people around her, because obviously she can't make that call herself.

After more than 70 years of public service and meeting more Prime Ministers and Heads of State than anyone else. Yes, Harry could really make that call 🙄

Well, he is a man, so naturally knows better than the women around him.

Of course. Silly me.

I usually only read these threads and not post but the anecdotes up thread about Harry’s teacher being frustrated that Harry had no interest in his own family, and Harry’s own admission about not giving a shit kind of sealed my opinion of him. He’s emotionally stuck at the age he was when his mother died and is in a perpetual teenage rage that the world isn’t fair.

Surely anyone with half a brain could have worked out how he could have had a quiet comfortable life in the UK while not being in the front line of the RF. My suggestion would have been persuading the Army to keep him on and give him a role with reintegration of veterans back into civilian life, which would segue neatly with the Invictus work. I’m sure they could keep him occupied as a figurehead for veterans issues, while being a serving military officer would justify him having a low number of RF duties - Remembrance Day and Cenotaph perhaps. And his wife could probably have had her pick of causes to support and work for or not as she chose and tailored to how high she wanted her profile to be.

But he strikes me very much as someone who don’t really know what he wants out of life, only that he doesn’t want whatever is suggested or offered to him. Silly boy.

After the Spanish opening, Meghan went straight into the Fairy Liquid story… gave the audience some time to take in the sheer magnitude of her 11-year-old self, then sort of segued into Archewell Foundation work which is yet again described in terms that are clear as mud:

'Does it ever feel good to use your voice and no one hears you. That's not ideal.
So for us and the work that we do with our Archewell Foundation, certainly the work that we do as parents, as I do as a mother, is ensuring that young girls feel as though their voices are being heard, and also that young boys are being raised to listen and to hear those young women as well.
And the same goes for adult women and men. This isn't something that can be solely responsible and in the hands of just women.
Yes, we work incredibly well together as a team, but as my husband, is great testament to the role of men in this of empowering women, of allowing them to know that their voices are heard, starting at a young age all the way through adulthood, is key.
So at the Archewell Foundation, we are very, very dedicated to creating a sense of community, but also one in which women are heard and that their ideas are really felt and implemented in the programming that we do.
So we just recently launched a program called the parents network, which is for parents who have lost children or have encountered the worst possible challenges and level of grief as a result of online harms, and allowing those mothers, those parents, to be heard, is very key to the work that we're doing.'

Wtf did I just read 😳😳😳

Harry empowers women? Talking about losing his virginity? Talking about the matron of the school? Saying that his brother settled for Catherine? I'm not seeing much empowerment here or is he a reformed character?

Has anyone seen the clip of him trying to shut the Sky female royal correspondent in South Africa. She asked a perfectly reasonable question about the purpose of his visit and he put his hand up as if to tell her to stop talking and said something like 'Rhiannon.....don't'. I lost all respect for him then.

hepsitemiz · 20/08/2024 12:30

Ooof... "Rhiannon, don't behave like this"

Who the hell???

He is a man and gets to tell the wimmin how to behave, don't you know?

JSMill · 20/08/2024 12:38

@Mylovelygreendress thanks for the clip. That's even worse than I remember. Who the fuck does he think he is?

ThePoshUns · 20/08/2024 12:40

Urgh what a prick.

A entitled prince of the realm who doesn't know how to behave anymore.

Previously he would have just ignored the question. Now he feels he can answer it dismissively AND tell the reporter what to do. Showing his true self now, and not the cheeky, rogue of a prince that worked hard to get invictis going as he was unable to pursue a career in the army that he was portrayed to be

Grrrpredictivetex · 20/08/2024 12:44

@Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar
"Because they have merched the visit. News outlets have to pay AFP agency for audio footage."

Do we have any idea how many photos/videos have actually been sold? Would love to know.

TemuRoyal · 20/08/2024 13:08

That clip was taken in South Africa, wasn’t it?

along with all the usual waffle and nonsense she spouts I actually think.this speech was despicable! Using the mothers of dead children to promote herself and point score. And I know she hastily added the word parents after wards but the implication was that the fathers were inferior in their grief.Women are all important in her eyes and indeed she makes that obvious in her treatment of Harry. He only exists to serve and promote her interests it seems. In fact she is so in love with herself I don't think she is capable of caring v much about anyone else at all. And that is why so many people have such a visceral.dislike to her because she is all fake and the attempts to come across as kind and caring are actually repellent. If I was one of the bereaved fathers I would be beyond angry and hurt.

Woman are only important to Meghan if she feels in that moment that women are who she needs to appeal to, or that current “trends” are to appeal to women. The only person, male or female, that matters to Meghan is Meghan

Yes that's pretty much it and does she really think those parents are incapable of expressing their grief without the involvement of the sainted Archwell foundation!

I think a lot of Brits are going to be upset if he's on an A1 Head of State visa, too.

He is married to a US citizen, I think he has a green card.

Vespanest · 20/08/2024 14:17

If Meghan wants to promote her voice she’d do much better if she stopped the fashion influencer role at the same time, she can do both but not on the same day. The press will pick a lane to promote and even on this site her fashion choices are a large part of discussion. The biggest drowning out of meghans speech is their own PR of how good she looks, how many outfits, what jewellery and how much. Its an area she could learn something from how Angelina Jolie combined two roles.

Her word salad speeches always remind me of this. Hopefully the link works!

MrsLeonFarrell · 20/08/2024 14:28

The King is in Southport. Meeting the bereaved, the survivors, emergency workers and those who helped clear up the streets. Shining a light on those who have suffered and those who have helped in a way that brings the focus to them not himself.

What a contrast.

MaturingCheeseball · 20/08/2024 14:29

I don’t think it’s as simple as that @Flowerybeing .

Thedom · 20/08/2024 14:31

@smilesy Have you ever seen the video of her meeting mothers2mothers on the South Africa tour, the one where she invites the parents to sit on the floor, there are lots of small snippets on youtube, but the full video of her is quite shocking, she is so disinterested while one of the mothers is recounting her story with HIV and losing a baby.
