Well yes and no. Most people would be capable of rehearsing the beginning of a speech in a different language and reading it out (or memorising it) if they are comfortable with public speaking. Fluency is only obvious when someone is able to respond to another person without know what they are going to say. Doesn’t she claim to be fluent, if a bit rusty?

The full video cited above shows there is no aggression from the VP towards Meghan, so I think whoever posted it on X was being a bit mischievous, and dare I say, putting out misinformation. But as I said above, the best way to counter something you think is wrong is not censorship but providing better information. This YT shows what happens next, which is all perfectly friendly, watch from about 1 min 45 secs. The start of the video is M’s speech in Spanish. This is a pro Sussex channel and the narrator is hilarious - full on North Korean style propaganda, not unlike some of the posts we see on here.

edit to add, looks like the VP rushed back and pushed in for a camera shot as there is someone filming behind Harry, not up get between Meghan and her husband.

I thought she had done the full speech in Spanish, but she only did 1 minute at the beginning, is that correct ? if that is the case, even if you didn't know a word of Spanish, you could learn it really easily by rote learning..

We lived in a middle eastern country and my kids learned lots of songs and rhymes in Arabic, despite not knowing a word of Arabic, they still remember some of them to this day.

I used to give full presentations in a language I was not fully fluent in, but I would use interpreters for the Q&A. I practised like crazy and also had translators who went over the presentation and checked it for accuracy and grammar and my pronunciation..

The code (not just of the Woosters) is alien to her, it seems. She wasn't asked to sign anything because she moved (briefly) into a circle where certain actions are just unthinkable and would simply never be done. That is another thing she has failed to grasp. Or she does understand, but has decided despite that to make money from it at some point (the ultimate kiss and tell)

And of course that view might also have influenced Harry in how far he went.
