Harry absolutely needs to provide better value to Invictus at least. He cannot continue to use it as a platform for him and Meghan as he’s been doing. For purposes of self promotion, receiving awards, and spending a ridiculous amount of money on security, hotels, clothing, and goodness knows what else.
I do think Meghan should bow out. Harry be more low key and go back to basics with it all. Otherwise he may just take Invictus down with him and his popularity.

WinnieTheW0rm · 12/08/2024 17:12

No I'm saying he's the Founder, the only Founder they will ever have and that can't be taken away from him. He knows it, and they know it and will have to find a way of going forwards.

Harry brings them a great deal of attention - but only really for the Games where he turns up in person, not for the rest of the work of the Foundation. I think they'd struggle to survive without the Harry factor, unless taken over by one of the bigger military charities

Wasn’t Steve Jobs the founder of Apple? He still got kicked out when the Board got sick of him.

Princessfluffy · 12/08/2024 21:29

Invictus absolutely should cast Harry adrift and find a new patron.

Harry is too controversial and divisive to serve the IG. He also seems to be looking to milk IG for his own gain which is not a good look.

MummyJ12 · 13/08/2024 12:06

Oh dear. Another member of staff bites the dust. Harry’s chief of staff, “not a good fit”.

It never fails to amaze/ amuse me that people are sniffy about the DM yet are happy to quote crap like celebitchy .

I heard about the Sandhurst, interviews for Officer candidates, they were asked what morning papers they read and Times, Telegraph, occasional Guardian were popular. The most crumpled papers in the Mess were Mirror, Sun, Mail!
I too find it amusing how many MNers are very au fait with the DM yet claim not to trust it for the football results even.

User14March · 13/08/2024 14:06

@JudgeJ the upper middle classes read the Mail avidly IME as well as broadsheets & aristos. Esp older generation. Always assumed rejected with righteous indignation here, not so.

PoppysAunt · 13/08/2024 14:22

Some people on here think they're being hilarious and radical by calling it The Daily Fail 🙄

User14March · 13/08/2024 15:08

@MummyJ12 are NDAs now less watertight? If ‘trouble at mill’ I imagine eventually we’ll hear from ex staff.

This is so true! I'll bet they're constantly in talks about what to do about these two - dreadful work and self promotion ethos off the back of anyone else's
Hard work

There’s a comment on the article which reads:
”To get through so many highly qualified and very experienced members of staff in so short a time spell, smells of a toxic working environment.”
I have to say that I agree with this.
I do also wonder how watertight these NDAs are. It’s possible that someone will be brave enough to speak out and break it and then there could be more that follow…..

I also read today that Harry phoned the producers of South Park to complain following the Worldwide Privacy Tour episode aired. It’s not proven fact but I believe it.

User14March · 13/08/2024 16:14

@MummyJ12 If true I don’t blame him re: South Park.

MummyJ12 · 13/08/2024 16:18

The story of the chief in staff quitting has caused a bit of a stir between Richard Eden and Chris Ship on X. It further proves that the Sussexes feed the press. (Super hypocritical yet again).

Mylovelygreendress · 13/08/2024 16:22

Did the original announcement say it was a trial period ? I don’t recall that ?

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 13/08/2024 16:22

Handbags at dawn between the royal reporters! Shame neither of them can do some actual investigative reporting on the Sussexes, and rely on regurgitating stories from each other and American shitrags.

I don’t either. I think they’re in damage limitation mode again and obviously trying to control the narrative by feeding their preferred publication the story they want putting out.

Wondering how many staff do H and M have that requires a Chief of Staff ?

Is that the same mutual parting of ways they had with Spotify 🤔

Not2identifying · 13/08/2024 16:41

@User14March I'm surprised we haven't already heard from ex-staff (off the record). There have been enough departures that I'd think they could give anonymous info to journalists without much fear it could be traced back to them (not specifics but general info). But this hasn't happened, to my knowledge. Which means there is just a tiny glimmer of a possibility that H&M are not terrible employers, in my view. I wonder if perhaps they blow hot and cold. Admittedly, I wouldn't want to work for them anyway.

MummyJ12 · 13/08/2024 16:41

@BunnyLake Indeed!

Apparently when Josh Kettler’s appointment was announced, it wasn’t announced as being for a trial period @Mylovelygreendress. Richard Eden has confirmed this and has also said that it’s disingenuous for People to report as such.

The total number of employees the Sussexes have lost since they married in 2018 is reportedly at least 18, with nine or more having left since they moved to California in 2020. That’s quite a turnover!

MummyJ12 · 13/08/2024 16:43

From the Daily Mail and I don’t even care what others think of me for it!…..

One former member of staff told the Daily Mail yesterday: 'What may be most telling is that the entire time I worked there, I don't think I heard a single current or former employee on their staff say they would take the job again if given the chance.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 13/08/2024 16:51

I imagine any ex member of staff wanting to speak is well aware that the Sussex Squad will go after them. Plus, with anyone looking to move on to a new job that is reasonably demanding, you don't want to be carrying around the reputation of "failing under pressure", no matter what your former employers' reputation for completely unreasonable behaviour might be.

WinnieTheW0rm · 13/08/2024 16:52

I doubt very much that anyone, when announcing the a new appointment, states the probation terms.

I don’t know what’s the norm in US, but (before the Govt changed employment law here to give full rights only after 2 years), 3 months was a very normal probationary period. And leaving at the end of it, because either you or employer wasn’t happy, wasn’t particularly unusual

When are they off to Colombia?
