Sussex Whiplash

Sometimes, all the different media outlets who purport to know the inner workings of all things Sussex can give me whiplash. One moment the Sussex duo are on the outs with everyone, hemorrhaging or devoid of influential friends, making no headway with Netflix, losing money, can’t afford their mortgage and claimed to no longer be relevant. Then Suits saw an upsurge in viewers - fantastic ratings on Netflix, the BBC buys Suits, Invictus is being promoted via Harry’s award and trips, he receives a heartfelt standing ovation, Meghan finishes filming a new Netflix series purportedly linked to a nascent commercial venture and a new podcast is set for next year.

‘Lonely’ Harry, as some will insist on writing, is also not something that rings true for me. He has too much charisma, energy, interests, causes and is a people person. I also cannot think of anyone who needs to say I am friends with x, y, and z on a regular basis for the benefit or not of strangers. We don’t know who they are friends with, really. Meanwhile, pundits continue to engage those interested in the couple with whatever they can attributing the information to some made up mysterious ‘sources’. I suspect their real friends are quietly keeping their own counsel. Especially, now they have seen the mutual pathological loathing that Harry and the tabloids have towards one another. Can’t say I blame them either.

Considering Whoopi G had less than favourable words for the couple I’d like to have been a fly on the wall at any meetings held. No doubt ‘netizens’ will have their microscopes to the ready to give us all their ‘insights’ regarding the events of the evening. No doubt I’ll get whiplash again when all their combined fingers hit the keyboards.

It is funny how some absolute pish is allowed to stand and be referred to as truth.

And yet the actual truth gets disappeared, forgotten or deleted from history.

They are settling well in the USA. If I relied on people who want the Sussex’s to fail I would have a different perspective to the one I have. :-p

Thinking back to how they were both trashed by tabloids when they decided to retire from the goldfish bowl and the constant merry go round of abusive tabloids knowing all about their comings and goings it’s good to see tabloids are now always the last to know!! 😂😂😂

I do think some of us on here have an accurate recollection of what is said on here rather than a varying one.

Some of us remember what we are told.

Some of us get dismayed when we see a recollection of someone else’s ‘truth’ (and I use that term loosely) disappear.

It was said. It was seen. And if some put it out there as truth then it should be able to be repeated.

Venus Williams is a paragon of class. Of course she stood and clapped and was polite.

The Tillman Foundation event was weeks ago ( or so it seems). H & M did not come out of it well. Instead of trying to change history, they should be developing some positive future projects. Do they ever do any actual work?

And, as an American, if Harry does try to sue the US press, I hope they take him to the cleaners.

Oh and Venus may well have stood up eventually. But for a good 30 seconds she made damn sure that the cameras saw her sitting, arms crossed, unsmiling and side eying Meghan. She’s not stupid. She knows where the director would be focusing. There are big screens everywhere at these events, so people can pose appropriately when they can see the camera is on them. The fact that you have no footage of her eventually standing up, let alone that you can’t see her expression or whether she is clapping, makes me think the straw grasping is not on the part of the people you think it is.

They cannot succeed in a lawsuit against US press for unfavorable coverage and opinions of their activities.

The games they play were uncovered during discovery for the “leaked by Meghan” letter. I don’t think they would risk more of that. American judicial system would have laughed Meghan out of court for leaking her own letter then complaining about further bits being shared.

I don’t see why my right to challenge what I can only describe as hypocritical gushing pish should be denied.

Nor my right to challenge why, if something is put out there as truth, it can magically be disappeared because they don’t like it being mentioned.

BTW @ConstantGarden1 why post about the Sussexes on this board? They are no longer part of the royal family in anything other than the titles they cling onto for dear life. If you don’t want our royalist comments on them, why not post elsewhere, eg in Chat or TV/Entertainment? You clearly don’t think anyone here who doesn’t agree with you has anything legitimate to say. There are other royal related threads on other boards that get a much wider welcome and mix of views from anti royal posters who don’t post here. You aren’t changing anyone’s mind - most of us regulars are very well versed on the entire saga of the Sussexes - although perhaps you didn’t know that having only started posting here recently.

Tacked on. All of the names I recognize are people who are very active in the entertainment industry, I think. They are not.

Also funny to see the Harry’s name first where with the other couples it’s the woman. Poor Meghan, she’s always last unless she pushes her way in front of everyone.
