Who reported the thread as being derailed? Was it someone actually on the thread? I had seen anyone object to the meander it took. At least no one who had been contributing 🤷‍♀️

I've seen much more substantial derails tbh. I don't think anyone was "deliberately" doing anything. It was just a bit of a sideways wander that happen in conversation. Perhaps this will be the case when the Montecito two get brought in too.

Plus we were actually talking about Kate's bangles too!

I loved her dress today. It was by Safiyaa apparently. Lovely that she went for purple - think she's gone Wimbledon green before. She suits purple. Charlotte was very cute too. I loved her hair.

Thanks @MummyJ12. Never noticed them before. I like them but I'm more a silver or rose-gold fan.

Silver/platinum or rose gold for me too. 💗

Not me!

I think everyone knows it wouldn’t have been!

StormzyinaTCup · 14/07/2024 21:07

They are clearly a close family who enjoy each other’s company 😊

It was a bit of fun. Because we are happy! Because someone who has been long absent is feeling well enough to be out.

Kate looks fantastic.

Respect. I don’t agree with a single word you have said here, but you have held your own, actually answered questions instead of deflecting and you haven’t whined about being “bullied”.

Neither did I! Although we are diammetrically opposed in our views, I think you can fight your own battles.

As a founder member of PFTPOWOF (Prawns For The Prince of Wales On Flights) I humbly beg indulgence of such digression, as this is the RF board and we are discussing the inflight nourishment of a senior member of such, nay, indeed the future King.

Kate looked lovely at Wimbledon and hasn't Charlotte grown? She's going to be tall.

MummyJ12 · 14/07/2024 21:16

As much I find the Republican derails annoying. I didn’t report. Totally used to it and it’s all part of being on this board (unfortunately 🤭-sorry!)

I was struck by how tall Catherine seems to be in relation to Djokovic and Alcaraz. Unless they are not that tall 🤷‍♀️

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 14/07/2024 21:17

Those bangles are beautiful 😍

I haven't reported anyone. Nothing to report, a discussion, even if we disagree.

Gorgonemilezola · 14/07/2024 21:20

Right, back to the subject at hand - Kate looked lovely today, smiley, as usual, great reception from the crowd. Nice to see Charlotte and Pippa joining in the fun. Novak Djokovic's comments on her presence were heartwarming.

SentebalesChair · 14/07/2024 21:23

I can’t see that anything was derailed any more than usual.

Threads do meander.

I’ve finally clocked the Wimbledon footage because sleep knobbled me this afternoon.

It was lovely to see a warm welcome, a delighted reaction and a genuine smile.

Beats the corpse bride shit going on elsewhere.

Yes it’s utterly bizarre that Mumsnet have issued a warning, on another royal thread there is a poster bleating on about Mein Kampf! (new for the bingo card by the way) any positive thread particularly about Catherine is immediately derailed by the disguised stalwarts with cries of republicanism, but but Andrew etc. etc. I expect HQ to hold the same standards which have been applied to this thread to threads going forward.

upinaballoon · 14/07/2024 21:52

Oh, lucky Kate and Charlotte - the lovely Stan Smith was just behind them.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 14/07/2024 21:53

That poster has actually admitted to trying to derail the thread too. As well as admitting to sock puppeting on another.

And yet I bet their posts still stand and they haven’t been banned.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 14/07/2024 22:00

At least now once the stalwarts start with their but buts they can be reported for their derailment and it will be upheld……..

SentebalesChair · 14/07/2024 22:05

I like to think of it as very similar to this

not so Invisible Stalwarts

Same but different.

You sound like rather like one of those 'everyone could send their children to private school if they made some sacrifices' posters. Too many people live in a sort of 'bubble' of privilege and don't seem able to grasp that others might not have the same experiences of life.

It's possible for a person to be unemployed and signing on at one time in his/her life, and later on to be able to take the train to London and queue up at Wimbledon and see some tennis on an outside court. Privileged bubble, no; just different times of the same life.

PrincessMee · 14/07/2024 20:06

This little girl ❤️

She's lovely isn't she. Looks like both she and George have had growth spurts, they both look like they've shot up.

Serenster · 14/07/2024 22:22

Even if you made tickets to Wimbledon 100% balloted and reduced the prices considerably - and provided free accommodation (why not, if we’re in fantasy land here…) you still couldn’t make it available to everyone who wanted to see it live.

On average about 500,000 people attend the championships over the two weeks it runs each year. It’s very popular, so that is its capacity. Taking the 15m people who watched last year’s tournament as a reasonable estimate of the pool of those who would be interested in going to watch live if offered the chance, it would take you 30 years to get through that pool. And in that 30 years the pool would grow as new generations of tennis fans emerge.

In short - going to Wimbledon is always going to be an exclusive experience.

I've always regretted not doing that during my brief stint in London! There's quite a few things I regret not doing - including turning down the opportunity to go to the Royal premiere (Princess Diana!) of Steel Magnolias because I needed to do overtime in work!!! Husband saw her driving to another premiere - I was doing a course in Leicester Square and he had come to meet me - and he said he saw a beautiful woman all dressed up with a big nose!!! Men can be such philistines!

We were up on a high floor in the building, and could often hear the cheers but didn't know who it was!

But, to keep on subject, just in case, I was pleased to see Kate looking so well, Pippa supporting her, and Charlotte is so cute!

Novak's Stefan and Tara are beautiful children too! And I love Annabel Croft!
