Well it's a US award and Harry lives in the US. I don't suppose many in the UK will have heard of Pat Tillman and the award before this story. But the UK press are reporting it - it's in the Sun and the Mail and the Telegraph, probably others.

I was thinking more of the wider picture really - the visa application, Invictus expenses, strangely deserted Archewell offices etc.

UK press don't appear to be very exercised by very much of this at all so it's heartening to see it gathering press attention of any kind.

His racist army video is being resurrected on X. First time I have seen it, dreadful racial slurs, people have been 'cancelled' for less.

ESPN sound very defensive, and they clearly had not anticipated this reaction.

I bet they heartily wish they had made the award to the Invictus Foundation instead. Or perhaps the Warrior Games (especially as ESPN helped host it in 2022 - venue was their Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World in Florida)

I must agree with all you have said. It’s incredibly sad that the some of the media piles in on Harry. However, he keeps winning at life no matter how much some people twist the knife.

As Prince Harry said when he was told of the award this is one for Invictus. A worthy recipient. I find it more than a little strange that the Daily Mail approached the mother of the person the award was named after who has never had anything to do with the organisation. I hope money did not exchange hands. As for low rent Pat Mcfee he admitted he didn’t even know much about Harry and Invictus.

Pat McAfee appears to be with ESPN, so is relevant to these awards. As is Pat Tillman's mother - who no-one would have approached had she not spoken first.

It is a shame that if the intent was to honour Invictus, the award was not made directly to the Foundation by name. Harry would of course have been in the delegation picking it up. But the optics would have been so different.

I think this has backfired.

Usual negative fanfare which will die away soon enough. He has plenty of supporters. Some just don’t need to shout about him so much.

"everyone has the right to choose their own path in life". Indeed they do. It's a shame that Harry has chosen a path which makes money from invading his loved one's privacy, making all manner of unpleasant and unfounded accusations, and acting like a victim instead of a perpetrator.
"He's winning at life". I actually don't even know what that means. He's a prince, a multimillionaire, he's had every privilege in life and more opportunities than most of us could dream of. He's married and with two lovely children. He is indeed blessed. His behaviour is inexplicable.

His supporters can shout all they like.
