ESPN may be trying to make this about Invictus rather than Harry but they are still running the risk of Harry receiving a cold reception from the audience, people aren't stupid.

The shame of it is, is that if people cannot disassociate Harry and Invictus, he will end up taking the shine off Invictus.

I think that’s already happening..I know many veterans of HM Forces weren’t happy with some of the goings on at the Düsseldorf games last autumn and this latest controversy has not improved the mood.

You need to take off your blinkers and see Harry for what he is. I know some people are very invested in the idea of 'fun Harry' and 'poor traumatised child Harry', but actually the middle-aged Harry (without benefit of royal PR) is showing us who he is.

Harry needs to leave Meghan at home if he's going to retain his credibility with Invictus. Just from the threads on MN, it's clear that the Canada event became all about Meghan and her clothes. I couldn't believe the fawning stuff about her outfits - all from people who can't see how damaging this attitude is to Invictus, and definitely to Harry's role in it.

And frankly, from the video I saw, Meghan seemed to have no authentic interest in the goings-on - even despite her performative reactions and interactions, it was clearly not coming from a genuine place. I wonder if she wanted to piggy-back on Invictus for her own PR, or whether Harry included her because he somehow thought the vets would appreciate it? Utterly baffling and wrong-headed.
