Mary Tillman says " There are recipients far more fitting. He publicly disrespected his family , ran away from service to his country. He is unworthy of this award"

She feels there are recipients far more fitting.

I think she speaks for many.

Ripple of Hope people must have been mightily unamused when he told Tom Bradby that the BRF was not racist, he and Meghan never said they were; and, further, Susan Hussey was not a racist either. The Ripple of Hope people got their award tarnished, deservedly so.

Who would be desperate enough these days to accept an Archewell- sponsored award?

Dunno. It's getting more silly by the hour!

MummyJ12 · 02/07/2024 20:35

Team Sussex and the SS have obviously been working overtime badgering Change.org as the webpage now has this disclaimer;

We have received flags from our users that the facts in this petition may be contested. You should consider researching this issue before signing.

The petition still stands however and now has almost 50,000 signatures.

pearlfritillary · 02/07/2024 20:51

I'm just so saddened that Pat Tillman's name has been dragged into this sorry mess.
For what it's worth: if anyone should be able to express their thoughts on the recipient of the award, it is Mary Tillman.

I think Archewell might be hard pressed to sponsor very much of anything these days. Unless of course those magnificent reserves from a couple of years back which I was firmly told at the time were absolutely normal charitable practice finally get a one way ticket to do-good land:

@CathyorClaire archewell should have 6 million coming in from fidelity insurance as a grant from 2022.

MummyJ12 · 02/07/2024 21:17

I’m just repeating what I have read on X here. The anonymous Entertainment Lawyer has hinted that Meghan is to accompany him to the awards ceremony and apparently is planning on wearing one of Princess Diana’s outfits.
I suppose that this is a watch this space thing as we will know soon enough whether any of it is true but also important for me to encourage everyone to take this with a teeny grain of salt.

You would hope this was not true mummy

H would have a damn sight more troubling issue than festering resentment if it were.

Oedipus lives.

MummyJ12 · 02/07/2024 21:45

It could always just be jewellery items but as you say, if it’s a purposeful choice to wear her things to garner attention and publicity then it’s unsettling.

I hope it’s not true @TallestSally it just seems weird.

Vespanest · 02/07/2024 21:51

@MummyJ12 I don’t think that is as weird a when Meghan marched infront of British injured servicemen, or having a photo of your dead MIL next to your marital bed. In fact the jewellery seems pretty tame in comparison

Archewll announced they'de be sponsoring a Ripple of Hope award (something lto promote women in tje film industry?) when H&zm got their award. I suspect H&M will announce the establishment of a similar award when Harry accepts the Pat Tillman award.

I'd accept one for jam making, actually

The Hollywood 'Lassie' Memorial Award for Services Allied to Canine Respect & Love goes to:

American Riviera Orchard dog biscuits

I hope the wedding dress will be hauled out.

Of course they could just leave it plain but cut the back out.

And give it a wee whirl in the washing machine with some salmon pink Dylon.

But it doesn't show up on their 2022 IRS return.

It will be jewelry most likely, like that odd crucifix thing of Diana's that she wore in Nigeria. Harry having his mother's clothing to pass on would be far too Norman Bates even for him with his mother issues.

When is the awards ceremony taking place?

PrincessMee · 03/07/2024 08:33

Their finances really need exposing. You can live high on the hog from donations if they turn into “expenses”.

And as for the awards - I remember they received an annual $100k for something - and then immediately announced their own $100k award at the same ceremony Confused . Isn’t this just the same as re-gifting a Baylis &Harding bath foam set but on a grand level?

Do you have a link for this?

Quite surprising anyone would be willing to drop cash into an organisation whose last published accounts showed a massive drop in donations, reported a loss and went on to be declared 'delinquent' but I suppose it takes all sorts.

This has made me spill my coffee!😂

And actually (irrelevant, I know...) I do think that Meghan has been at the Ozempic (as if she needs it!) and that partly explains for the strange changes to her face I've noticed recently.

The delinquency was brief and for technical reasons (late filing, IIRC).

It doesn't show anything about the underlying soundness of the Foundation, even though it suggests that there may be some weaknesses in its management (missing regulatory deadlines is pretty important - more than just lack of attention to detail - but still something that should not be hard to rectify)
