Mary Tillman says " There are recipients far more fitting. He publicly disrespected his family , ran away from service to his country. He is unworthy of this award"

She feels there are recipients far more fitting.

I think she speaks for many.

There are suggestions on other forums that the collecting of awards by Harry might be to enhance his visa situation. Apparently being the recipient of national or international awards can help in getting a permanent visa.

The sewer squad and the trolls are stooping low, even for them, on this one.
Why are they blaming the Royal Family for this mess? The lack of intelligence and reasoning from them is staggering.
They are also up to the usual distraction techniques of getting certain rumours trending on X again. Truly vile. Then at the same time they are trying to convince us that Harry is “winning at life” and is so happy. Yeah right 😂.
Although he will still proudly get up on that stage and pat himself on the back accepting this award because he is also more than a little bit thick and absolutely tone deaf.

Winning at life? More like a laughing stock who will turn up to the opening of any envelope. He is a desperado trying to feed his own sense of importance. It's all a bit pathetic.

I think at least MT wouldn’t make it all about him and Z.

I’ve no doubt that they would focus on Invictus. Not themselves.

I don't think MT would go near it. He's not a working royal, but is closely associated with the royal family, and there's no way any of the would want to risk accusations that they were muscling in on Harry's patch.

He's already patron of a number of sports related charities, including Rugby for Heroes; he hosts a charity golf day for Parkinson's (patron of Cure Parkinson's Trust) and is associated with Right To Play (sports and play-based learning for vulnerable children affected by war, disease and poverty). Plus raising funds for grassroots rugby via a wine club (playing to his strengths?)

TicTacToes · 02/07/2024 12:32

So pleased for Harry and Invictus. Once again the Daily Mail stirred the pot. A media frenzy ~ nothing more nothing less.

The Pat Tillman Foundation is wholly behind the decision. Rightly so.

TallestSally · 02/07/2024 12:42

So can you please give some examples of how ‘winning at life Harry’ fits the Foundation values?

I can see how he doesn’t.

If Pat Tillman’s mother has expressed reservations, can you explain why she is not entitled to that opinion and why her reservations should not matter? And why the great and good Duke has not condemned the SM bullying against this woman? He is, after all, supposedly accepting an award in her son’s name.

Interesting use of frenzy and DM by the way.

The Pat Tillman Foundation would be right to be behind Invictus. They have chosen to hand/give the award to a proven lying racist.

Where is that in the Foundation values? I missed it.

TallestSally · 02/07/2024 12:45

And aye. You are right winnie 👍🏽

TallestSally · 02/07/2024 13:03

I think racist liars deserve to be called out.

It isn’t hate or bullying if it is true.

But if we are linking?

How about your opinion on this?

worthy recipient?

As a woman of colour? Sorry doesn’t cut it.

TallestSally · 02/07/2024 13:06

And instead of throwing insults like ‘haters’ and ‘bullying’ around?

Explain why so many of us are wrong.

Starting with Harry and the Foundation values.

I’m happy to listen.

MummyJ12 · 02/07/2024 13:06

TicTacToes · 02/07/2024 12:57

I’d include Meghan and Harry on this programme. The hate online is next level.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/3QcD9W13Dr0bxmt4CMWVkGk/7-stars-who-have-personal-experiences-of-online-bullying

It was next level for Princess Catherine. Some people have short memories when it suits them.
All the Princess of Wales is doing is trying to get better and look after her young children. Yet the level of abuse and bullying is sickening and all done in the name of the Sussexes.
Harry and Meghan are controversial and divisive characters due to their own choices and behaviour. They are criticised accordingly. It is not the same and you know it. Stop with the victim hood nonsense.

TallestSally · 02/07/2024 13:09

Quite @MummyJ12

No mention of that though.

Or the condemnation of that behaviour by the Sussexes.

They aren’t responsible for the squad of course. But they are complicit with their silence.

And now not just with Catherine but Mrs Tillman.

A woman with cancer and a woman who lost her son in dreadful circumstances.

Swell.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 02/07/2024 13:15

As a woman of colour, I too would like to know how Harry's track record of blatant racism is so easily dismissed, @TallestSally , and people like me called a racist and a hater for not liking him or his wife's behaviour.

TallestSally · 02/07/2024 13:17

Indeed milkshake

How much “unconscious bias” is there to assume that to criticise Harry (or Meghan) must mean you are white?

TallestSally · 02/07/2024 13:28

I choose to think it is what we are now calling “unconscious bias” - and hope that is actually the case - or else I would very much take offence at a gif posted with a monkey and bananas directly after something I posted and quoting me also.

MummyJ12 · 02/07/2024 13:29

I find the monkey stuff offensive.

MummyJ12 · 02/07/2024 13:30

There was an emoji then the gif.

CC49 · 02/07/2024 13:31

TallestSally · 02/07/2024 11:05

Sadly, there is no-one who is immune from this heinous behaviour mummy

Imagine targeting a woman who is determined to honour those who display the same selfless values as her son.

Looking at the core values, she is right to question the recipient of the award.

How rich that Harry's supporters have no problem with him perseverating over his dead mother, but condemn Mary Tillman for talking about her son.

Well if cancellation is good for Danny Baker....

TallestSally · 02/07/2024 13:31

You are right mummy. There was. 🤔

Thedom · 02/07/2024 13:34

Saw this on Reddit, don't know how accurate it is, but I can totally believe it.

"so funny invictus's work is so incredible and worth celebrating that ESPN only has 7 tweets about them, and all from may 2016. and that was when IG rented their venue in florida."

It is becoming more and more apparent and that Harry likely got himself another "nomination' by making a donation to the Pat Tillman Foundation, we know they are not overly generous with their Archewell donations, but I am guessing they make donations that are sufficient enough for them to get a nomination in return.

TallestSally · 02/07/2024 13:35

Well indeed milkshake.

Will there be a protestation of ‘I never meant it like that’?

Most defnitely!

Gosh, what I'd give to be able to put some uncomfortable questions to M & H the next time they are on some kind of platform, mic in hand, spouting pious rubbish about fighting online bullying.

But I'm sure their audiences are very carefully vetted.

That was Danny's explanation too. It didn't work for him. Sauce, goose, gander.
