The royal family

Why do Harry and Meghan tell porkies that are so easy to prove wrong?

1000 replies

YaMuvva · 28/05/2024 15:44

Starting with the porkie that Archie wasn’t gonna be titled. Anyone who understands the Letters Patent would know that as long as the Queen was alive this was never gonna happen. I said this when watching the Oprah interview and I’m pretty appalled they told such an easily provable lie.

Then Harry said that daddy cut his security off. Anyone who knows about RAVEC knows it is independent of the Royal Family and Charles couldn’t do this if he tried. Same with “Only titled people get security” / this was so easy to prove wrong.

And why are there 2 versions of the proposal story. Did they think we wouldn’t notice? Is one a Hollywood version for their American audience?

The same with the ‘how they met’ story - in their engagement interview they said it was a blind date, to Netflix they met on Instagram.

I also was puzzled at her saying she never wore bright colours and that royal women could never wear the same colour as the Queen. It’s just nonsense. See below pictures.

Why do they do this? My theory is that everything they do now is for an American audience who are used to the reality TV narrative of “Some scenes have been created for entertainment” style TV and just accept their narrative as partly fictional, as long as it’s entertaining?

The singing seals - c&p from Spare:

MEG AND I WENT DOWN to the beach in front of the castle. Chilly day, but the sun was bright.
We stood on the rocks, looking out at the sea. Amid all the silky islands of seaweed we saw … something.
A head.
A pair of soulful eyes.
Look! Seal!
The head bobbed up and down. The eyes very clearly watched us.
Look! Another!
Just as Pa instructed, I ran to the water's edge, sang to them. Serenaded them.
Arooo.
No answer.
Meg joined me, and sang to them, and now of course they sang back.
She really is magic, I thought. Even the seals know it.
Suddenly, all over the water, heads were bobbing up, singing to her. Arooo.
A seal opera.
Silly superstition, maybe, but I didn't care. I counted it a good omen. I took off my clothes, jumped into the water, swam to them.
Later, Pa's Aussie chef was horrified. He told us that this had been a supremely bad idea, more ill-advised than diving heedless into the darkest water of the Okavango. This part of the Scottish coast was teeming with killer whales, the chef said, and singing to seals was like calling them to their blood-soaked deaths.
I shook my head.
It had been such a lovely fairytale, I thought. How did it get so dark so fast?

So you don’t have evidence then.

Pathetic and embarrassing.

It's in the papers hun, but I suppose you're too busy on your h an m witch hunt, anyway sweets get a grip lol

ThereAreNoSloesOnThere · 29/05/2024 14:50

Fucking hell.

The delusion is great in this one.

-edited to clarify I meant the extract about the singing seals. I'd blocked that one out. Or skim read it. We did Spare as a book club choice. [shudder]

Seeing as that previous poster thinks marriages are fair game to speculate on think I will take their lead, I’ve always thought that Meghan’s bodyguard was a bit ‘handsy’ not heard about the surfer but will look it up. There were rumours of her getting too close to the 89 year old billionaire Gordon Getty and his family had to step in and form a so called protective ring around him to stop Meghan in her tracks allegedly.

Is that the bodyguard whose arms she said she fell into off a plane?

People use all the usual hateful tropes around black women to demonise Meghan. If you described a Jewish woman this way (money grabbing princess) you would be in big trouble.

HAHAHAHAHAAHA

As a Jewish woman I can tell you we are VERY much fair game, everyday and NO ONE gives a fuck about us

I don’t think Harry wrote one word of Spare. He contributed a few anecdotes and a lot of moaning. Of course the ghostwriter did most of it, but the steely pen of Meghan pervades the book.

Changinforaday · 29/05/2024 14:52

To answer the original question, I don't honestly know the definitive answer, but I suspect they tell a lot of lies a) because they're stupid and b) because they're narcissistic.

SirChenjins · 28/05/2024 16:08

You’re brave OP 😂

I agree though. The one about a private ceremony before the actual ceremony was a bit odd - esp as the AofC then confirmed there had only been one ceremony. If they exchanged private vows to each with no-one else present other then fair do’s, I think most of us could understand that, but theor wording was strange. The other one about the near catastrophic care chase through the NY streets was also a bit weird.

Edited

About the wedding ceremony, I think the C of E was doing the royal families bidding, from their point of view the emotional aspect may have been the wedding rehearsal. Think again after the death threats they received any confrontation by paps I think I saw a video of the actual chase but for them it must of been terrifying.

YaMuvva · 29/05/2024 14:54

MaturingCheeseball · 29/05/2024 14:46

But WHY do some people - posters here - love them so? And don’t say the reverse is true, because most are just gobsmacked by M&H, with only an occasional interest in the other royals.

What is it about this rich and wannabe richer self-aggrandising pair with a proven record of lying that appeals? Confused

Beats me.
I wonder if they think if they make enough sycophantic posts H&M will track them down and be their friend?

Well if that is the case (and it may very well be) then my fore-mentioned criticism of Harry being so bloody nasty about his disabled elderly matron makes it even worse. For MM claims to be kind, empathetic and a strong committed feminist. Not sure how that squares with nasty anecdotes and attacks on disabled female staff and young women with whom Harry shared sexual encounters.

MummyJ12 · 29/05/2024 14:59

Some are paid to love them.
Some are taken to Nigeria and Germany for cheerleading duty, given a seat on an otherwise closed Air Peace flight.
It’s a full time job and it must be exhausting.

X have recently suspended a lot of accounts so many will have time on their hands.

A lot of it is transactional. Sad but true.

That's a bit pedantic, isn't it? I think we all know what @Italianita means. And I completely agree with her.

Edited

A bit pedantic? I was going for the full hundred percent.

Words do matter though, especially when they are being used as an accusation. Where does ‘ I know what x means/ meant’ stop? You can’t just alter the meaning of words to suit yourself, not if they are to be used as an exact communication.

Or that’s what we used to believe anyway, before 1984 .

It's OK everyone I thought it was an open secret everyone was aware of the fact that Rose is Williams "lady friend" so i was just saying in reply to another poster that H an M have a strong marriage and the support of each other and the love of each other. There where several rumours about princess Kate and Virgin Atlantic boss sir Richard even rumours about Prince Andrew and Kate, and princess Kate and the bodyguard, so I guess what I'm saying rumours are 10 a penny 😁

Yes and peddled by desperate half wits hod believe any old shite as long as it’s in a Tweet

You must read some strange sites online. Seeing as everyone is so fond of the “but how do you know” line, I’m going to use it, you have absolutely no idea if Harry and Meghan have a strong marriage, you have no idea what goes on behind closed doors, and as for you are so fond of rumours, the rumours were about Meghan and Andrew not Kate and Andrew.

For those interested in a sequel to the singing seals it appears that not only did countless numbers respond to Magic Meg, they also helped the pair of them conceive although TBF that might have been a joint venture with Diana's hair:

Funny how “it’s in the papers” is always true about the royal family but all lies when it’s Harry and Meghan.

Ok Sugar. I haven’t given a cent to them either so we’re equal 👍

Just to add, I’m laughing at you, I don’t need to calm down😁 you’re the one who seems to have a quivering bottom lip.

A paparazzi chase in the UK?

Given the gentlemen’s agreement with British press I’d be surprised

The number of times people say wonderful articles have been in Town &Country or People magazine. M&H took a People journalist on their Nigeria tour! Of course you’re going to get fawning pieces accompanied by touched-up flattering photos.

YaMuvva · 29/05/2024 15:11

Was it as terrifying as the paparazzi chase in their Netflix documentary with one biker who we don’t even see?
