I'm genuinely curious. Why? Why are you spending valuable time reading up about their activities on multiple sites, sourcing photos and YouTube links, in order to create puff pieces about them on Mumsnet?

I do appreciate this thread is intended for positivity about them, and of course it's your prerogative to be a fan. I just don't really understand what you're getting out of doing PR for them on this thread.

I will say though, I'm glad you are because I'm curious about what she's wearing and it's helpful to have the photos here, as not very easy to find them in the mainstream media.

Well why do people go to such lengths to do the same to criticise them such as looking up the charities, the accounts, looking into the people they are meeting, who they are, what they have achieved ...you could say exactly the arm why are they spending valuable time doing this

I like to see a bit of positive or neutral coverage of the Sussexes. It stops these threads being an echo chamber but also isn’t the Sussex Squad style of posting who are the dregs of the internet.

Meghan often looks really nice - in a white column dress too! And while I have plenty of criticisms of either one of them depending on what they just did / said / sold, it’s a good thing for any of their balanced supporters to highlight the good causes that can get lost in the chat about other elements of a tour that get discussed.

Princess Diana's butterfly earrings looked good on Meghan though I thought.

Harry looks to have his hair photoshopped back in in some photos. I imagine William is having a good laugh at Harry's
progressing hair loss given how mean spirited Harry was to William in Spare on the subject of hair loss.

These two do seem like bargain basement royals now.

Controversy on the Colombia tour

A member of the House of Representatives of Colombia, Miguel Polo Polo, has posted the below. Roughly translates to criticising the VP as cozying up with the world elite (one who is descended from British royalty which was complicit in the slave trade and colonialism) despite VP stating she is anti racist, anti imperialist and anti colonialist. He calls her a hypocrite.

He ends controversially by declaring the photo looks like “The chained slave smiling with his masters”

Because I’m interested. You will notice I post when there’s news or something to talk about. I otherwise don’t really spend my time only talking about them. As it is - I’ve been away and have been catching up on news about them on a thread I started (hence starting three days late into their trip). I’ve been posting more fully because of my many experiences here in my long tenure here on the RF forum that informs my choices. This tends to be a quieter part of the RF forum - I know the reason the thread is more popular is because I’ve been posting today and so it’s climbed up in visibility. I don’t really participate in other threads about them here - I think there might be about three about the trip and them in general on the top of the RF page (I also have done five loads of laundry and started making apple ketchup to can tomorrow with the windfall we came to since we got home late late night - Mumsnet is a great thing to do when nursing a pressure canner 🤣).

You don't need to justify why you post, how long you spend joking things up before posting. This is a discussion forum after all, absurd anyone even questions how anyone spends there time on one 🙄 otherwise they wouldn't exist if everyone was spending their time doing other things.

While there have been multiple publicity posts, I’m not sure that is, in itself, making the thread ‘more popular’ or that you yourself have indeed been the one who has made it more popular.

Meghan is out and about and that is what has attracted posters. Lots of opinions, not all entirely positive, has been what has made it interesting. The truth sets us free.

I do appreciate that it is accepted in many parts of the world to toot your own flute.

Up here? We are more acquainted with ‘naebody like a blaw’. Folk who fluff their own flaps are not thought of well.

Objectively when someone posts on a thread on the RF forum it rises to the top of the RF page and is more visible and popular. There are many new people here because of it. People who are watching the thread will also be notified of new activity. The reason it’s at the top of the page is because I (and others) have been posting more in this thread. It’s a simple observation of how the forum works and not bigging myself up. It is telling however that some people see a fact as self promotion.

Meghan is wearing a dress very similar in styling to the green/brown Martin Grant maxi dress during the Australia tour - haven’t been able to find a full on view but looks very similar. I think it’s a good look for her and there enough detail and structure to make the dress and fit interesting- but not to my taste. Harry is dressed down again in the blue shirt and the light tan trousers. No sign of the dreaded loafers 🤣yet but full top to toe views and the Vice President’s YT of the event will be done overnight so will call it a night.

Ooh just picked up that I’ve called Rafael Yerney Pinillos the Vice President’s husband on more than one occasion - they’re not married. He’s her partner.

What are your thoughts on Meghan involving young children like this in her publicity? Is this not the VERY thing they are talking about - young children and SM?

It is quite possible the manspread is a tactic to stop an unsightly sweat patch forming. No-one wants to see that.

Although one could understand why chafing on such a sensitive spot would be best avoided.
