Part 6 of positive threads, delving into all things Meghan and Harry. Whether it’s the causes they support, their business initiatives, or Meghan’s fashion choices (Harry’s too, on occasion 😉), there’s plenty to discuss Just a pro-tip - that there may be use of MLE terms and discussions of dupes - you might want to exit stage left if these things offend. This is a relatively drama free zone - let’s keep things light! Clinking a glass of lemonade 🥂 to @queentim for the original inspiration.

Ah You Tube takes the words off when I link. You’ve reminded me to double up the words when I link to YT. Yes it says Meghan had a dance too.

The audio versions are not available unless paid for - being sold by AFP. So much for “philanthropy”.

What they are wearing and doing yesterday has been discussed on other threads yesterday. This is now old information.

Mylovelygreendress · 17/08/2024 15:49

Interesting that Omid isn’t tweeting anything about the visit.

I think the fact that people are having to spend so much time searching for information about this “tour” is reflective of the interest in them waning. There is minimal media interest and coverage which is much less than that of Nigeria. It isn’t a success in those terms thus far.
Their chosen reporter is from Harpers Baazar who has connections to Omid Scobie.
They can look good and speak eloquently but they need to back up what they are saying because they don’t address their own issues close to home and hypocrisy with their supporters.
The lack of coverage is indicative of their lessening influence.

Probably why @skullbabe is doing their very best to try and get the PR out there, no one else is bothering.

Well let's look at the daily.mail, there been articles on mian page every day sometimes the headlines, they have a dedicated royal section of which the first 11 articles are about them....that is quite a lot for a media company who aren't bothering

Then you come here and we'll the same thing multiple threads about them some about the Colombia tour others rehashing things from years ago cos it's always fun to regurgitate the same points out of what must be boredom

It.might be they dont stay headline news for long but not much does, I thought I'd see how often the daily mail has new headlines in a day and it's at least 3-4 times.

Not true

To be fair @Spectre8, the OP posted that a lot of time is being spent of finding out about this tour.
There have been zero headlines about this trip. They haven’t been in the headlines at all. Only 3 photos on front pages yesterday but not one leading story.
Today, only one photo on one front page. There’s a distinct difference in interest and coverage compared to Nigeria. That much is clear.
The amount of threads on here does not make it a success or in any way a matter of public interest. Because it’s clear that the vast majority of the public are not interested anymore. Apparently no coverage at all in the Colombian media.

The Sussexes and the Vice President were warmly welcomed to Colegio La Giralda with a vibrant display of student performances, where children dressed in traditional Colombian attire showcased their cultural .

During their visit, they spent quality time with kindergarten students, with Meghan showcasing her Spanish skills as she interacted with the young learners. A highlight of the visit was when the couple planted a walnut tree on the school grounds, as a lasting legacy of their time in Colombia.

She wore a simple blazer and trousers combination - not a fan of long line blazers but again am pleased with colour. Harry was jacketless- but much prefer the olive green trousers and tan shoes to the tan/cream ensemble he was wearing the day before.

Not true

Whats not true? The fscy daily.mail has 11 articles about them in their royal section? Go check

The fact they have had articles on the main page and sometimes headline news over the past few days...yes that is also true

So what's not true?

Well it was the headline when I look at getting daily mail app yday not for long but it was there.

mayorofcasterbridge · 17/08/2024 16:40

Well I don't like any of her outfits personally. The navy is probably the best of a poor lot. Why does she have to have her shoulders out so much of the time???! What's the point in a blazer in the heat?!

DelectableMe · 17/08/2024 16:41

DM leading on Tommy Fury, then something about Cornwall, then KC's cancer battle.

skullbabe · 17/08/2024 16:42

Harry and Meghan attended a training session with Invictus Games Team Colombia at the Centro de Rehabilitación Inclusiva on Friday. Harry and the vice president’s husband played sitting volleyball with Invictus Team Colombia in a show case. (I should think Harry is getting good at sitting volleyball)

Loved that the Vice President is wearing Invictus colours in her print! I really like that Meghan is again wearing a Colombian designer in her maxi skirt and Harry looks very relaxed in his polo shirt and jeans but do.not.like.those.loafers 🤣

So, the Daily Fail/Heil/other-"funny"-word-that-(almost)-rhymes-with-Mail etc is now where we're supposed to look for news?
People citing information from it back in the day used to be reviled here.

No headlines and articles you have to scroll half way down the page.

MummyJ12 · 17/08/2024 16:46

No headlines on a single paper. Maybe a story online, that doesn’t make it a headline. Happy to be proved wrong on this but yesterday there were three small photos on the front pages of the Independent, Guardian and DM (from memory) had stories further inside the paper. That’s not a headline. It’s a side story. Today just one but on the front page of the Mirror in the right hand corner as a side story. (Not about the tour but Harry’s comments on Elon Musk!)

MummyJ12 · 17/08/2024 16:48

daily mail app

The app doesn’t have headlines. The actual papers have headlines.

LaMarschallin · 17/08/2024 16:53

The Times has an article on page 7.

skullbabe · 17/08/2024 16:55

More Invictus pictures (and those loafers 👞)

Oh the Sussex supporter hypocrites are the Shrodinger’s Cat of Daily Mail consumption. They wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole, whilst simultaneously knowing the fine detail of what’s written there about their favour duo and using that as proof of their popularity.

DelectableMe · 17/08/2024 17:02

God! Harry! Stop with the man spreading! 🤢

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 17/08/2024 17:07

Has Meghan finally gone full coo-coo in dressing like Diana and Wallis, and is now dressing like herself on former tours?

NoNekkidNonNigerians · 17/08/2024 17:09

Those loafers at least look absorbent and do not appear to be damp.

Thinkingabouttherapy · 17/08/2024 17:13

There’s nothing I could see in the NY Times online or the Times. I scrolled some distance down the Mail Online & didn’t see anything.

There’s 2 articles about Meghan’s outfits and their quasi royal tour on the Telegraph online - more than 500 comments, most mocking and derisive, virtually none positive. Same in the NY Post. They only attract notice in the way a crash on the motorway does. They really must have rhino-thick hides to persist under these circumstances

I think that dressing in threads like those of your partner’s deceased mother is positvely creepy.
