Sussex fans are holding on to the hope that it's all part of the plan - and that Meghan will soon launch ARO fully-formed and confound her critics. I can't see it myself! I mean, there's been so much else going on (Nigeria, the cookery show, the polo show) recently, and if she was seriously going to manage a proper launch she wouldn't have had time for anything else.

It's worth remembering that Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop took her years to develop, as did KC's Duchy Organic range. What do I know, but I can just see Meghan saying 'I want a food and lifestyle range....next week!' with absolutely no clue as to the work involved in that. I think the 'teaser PR stunts' have been unfortunate.

When ARO first “launched” I started to follow Flamingo Estate on instagram. The work involved in a lifestyle type venture is significant, it’s a case of ensuring that there is a constant, engaging and varied (but on brand) content on a daily basis. Not something that you half heartedly dabble in and assume that your fame (more accurately for Meghan, notoriety) will propel you to success.

It's the same old issue - they just need to FOCUS.

But they can't, it seems. Either because of their personalities, or because they're terrified that if they go off, get their heads down and quietly work at one serious project they'll be forgotten.

And they may have a point - they're in a bind, really. I don't think it's in Meghan's nature to go off and quietly work on anything for long without constant exposure, and yet she seems baffled that her projects don't succeed.

I wonder if there will be less ARO and more politics in view of recent changes at the top? If Meghan Markle is looking for a fast way to boost her profile, and maybe her popularity, this could be it. I’m not sure whether Kamala Harris is an admirer but my feeling is she would be.

Why would KH be an admirer? Michelle Obama certainly isn't.

I don't think she cares, @Serenster . If it makes her money and keeps her in the tabloids, it's all good for her.

However it them becomes a political matter for the government, and Meghan may find that a Labour government is less inclined to be indulgent of someone holding a UK title causing them political embarrassment than past governments may have been.

You're right, @Serenster and there will no doubt come a time when they will need to be dealt with, because they're not reflective enough to limit their activities, or at least not looking beyond what's in it for them.

It must have done, given the UK’s Nigerian High Commissioner made a statement before the visit making it clear that their trip was private and nothing to do with the UK government. I seriously doubt he did that without instructions from the Foreign Office.

You’ve seen my post on the other thread now, but basically if Harry is going to start pulling away from her and reconnecting with friends and family , spending long periods in the UK in the run up to Birmingham, then I think she is reminding him that she can do a Diana and find herself a Martin Bashir to have a chat with if he strays too far.

I just cannot believe the rumours I'm hearing about Meghan 'going into politics' under the banner of Kamala Harris.

Surely US Democrats, of all people, are not going to want anything to do with someone who insists on being known as the Duchess of Sussex?? I'm a mild monarchist, but there's no place for titles and 'royalty' in the US!

I guess that is partly because of the things that are "going to happen " allegedly yet nothing is happening other than a few jars of jam hence people guessing.

I agree with you, @Spectre8 , Meghan would never get into politics, it's really not the direction she's following.

I don't know, but none of this is cheap, @sausawyee so there ought not to be this many mistakes
