She could move to Liverpool

😁

How handy it must have been to be given a princess title when visiting Nigeria so that people can call her Princess Meghan.

Wonder how one goes about getting called Queen…

Dunno.

I'd imagine sticking pins in dolls out of the question though 🤓

MummyJ12 · 17/05/2024 21:23

I wish I was Spirograph rich! 😂

QueenMeghan · 17/05/2024 21:36

I could tell you but then I would have to kill you

AliceOlive · 17/05/2024 21:40

I have an honorary title. It’s actually bestowed with some expectations on the other end but not everyone will understand that.

AliceOlive · 17/05/2024 21:41

It also means I outrank my husband. He doesn’t seem to understand that part, either.

MummyJ12 · 17/05/2024 21:54

My husband is a Lord. He takes it very seriously. He owns 5m2 of land in the Lake District. It has planning permission for a bench (apparently) 😂
It was bestowed upon him on his birthday thanks to his best friend who didn’t know what else to buy him!

That’s awesome!

Noticed on X that Save the Children have had to now limit who can comment on their post with M&H in Nigeria. It doesn’t look like it has gone down well (with users of X anyway).

That’s terrible!

friendlycat · 17/05/2024 22:57

One thing’s for sure. They certainly provide enough fodder for the press and us to discuss. However, it’s not perhaps as complimentary as they would like.

I wonder what it would be like to be a fly on the wall of their personal lives and actually hear their chat and thoughts. Now that actually would be interesting.

I honestly think that the only way to success for them now is a reality style show like The Osbournes or the Kardashians. It's the only thing anyone would want to watch.

And all their other money making schemes have failed.

But it's probably not in line with the lofty aspirations they have to be like the Obamas.

peanutbuttertoasty · 18/05/2024 02:16

That’s about her level of class that’s for sure

MyFunnyDuckDuck · 18/05/2024 06:59

Like the Obamas? This is so far fetched. I'd like to know one single thing Harry and Meghan have in common with the Obamas. There literally is nothing but what they lack the most is true inner 'class', which was Barack and Michelle USP. B&M are very classy in how they behave and present themselves. With good character, old fashioned values mixed with progressiveness etc. Michelle was positively loved by the world partly because she didn't come across as full of herself but as wise and modest but strong.

In contrast Meghan and Harry have managed to alienate everyone that meant something to them at one time, family and friends. Harry is full of self pity and Meghan desperate for any scrap of media attention. Meghan is contrived, Michelle super classy. H&M couldn't be more different to the Obamas if they tried, frankly.

Meghan has already attacked and fallen out with one world class institution as well as cut ties with all friends and family. Can you imagine her in a leading political role with actual influence 😱.

OneHeartySnail · 18/05/2024 07:31

Harry and Meghan are the opposite of the Obamas 'when they go low, we go high' approach!

MyFunnyDuckDuck and OneHeartySnail

I agree. I think it's what H & M were aiming for with Archewell but they missed the mark so badly.

It's impossible to recreate what the Obamas have because they're authentic and they have worked for years to get where they are now.

You can't just copy something like that, put a different name on it and get the same results. But that seems to be H & M's MO-copy successful people and fail.

shockthemonkey · 18/05/2024 07:56

AliceOlive · 17/05/2024 18:13

they lack startegy

Typo or brilliant new portmanteau?

If it is, Alice, you could argue it’s stayergy they lack the most
but strategy is a better portmanteau

shockthemonkey · 18/05/2024 08:08

Startegy

AliceOlive · 18/05/2024 08:22

Stayergy. That’s funny, too.

peanutbuttertoasty · 18/05/2024 09:04

Not to mention a couple of successful legal careers.

Meghan is an entirely hollow individual with delusions of grandeur but no sense of how she can actually serve others.

DelectableMe · 18/05/2024 09:09

Michelle Obama grew up without wealth or privilege in a very modest African American family. She is a very intelligent, resilient and capable person who carved out a career in law and public service. She then took on the exceptionally difficult role of First Lady, and used it to significant effect.
There is absolutely no comparison to Meghan Markle. None.
Don't get me started on Harry.

peanutbuttertoasty · 18/05/2024 09:19

Harry…. Got born. The end.

Harry…. Got born. The end.

Harry got born. Second. The beginning of a lifetime of whining.

MaturingCheeseball · 18/05/2024 09:25

The time when Meghan looked truly happy and in her element was at that awards thing when she was posing for the cameras on the red carpet (before hapless assistant was asked to get her off). That’s her level. Wearing lots of different outfits and being photographed (flatteringly).

peanutbuttertoasty · 18/05/2024 09:27

god she loves a camera! Can spot one at 1,000 paces!
