No. That was claimed by others ages ago.

Prince Edward wasn’t a wimp, he joined the RM and it wasn’t the life for him, to have to tell his Father Prince Philip must have been really difficult and for it to be worldwide headlines on top of that must have been horrendous, I admire his bravery on saying no this isn’t the life for me, pretty much what Harry has done and is so admired for on here.

My grandad who I never knew was gassed in the Somme and was never well for the rest of his life and had periods of depression and was often out of work during the Depression. The National Assistance Board came round to their house and made them sell anything of worth before they got a paltry sum. He never joined the British Legion or went to any Armistice Day commerations and would never talk about it. My father joined the Royal Signals in 1940 being refused in 1939 because of his eyesight and served in South Africa, Libya, Egypt, Italy and finally Germany. I learnt a lot from both of them about war and the much vaunted country fit for heroes. My father's best friend was a conscientous objector who married an Austrian Jewish refugee who fled from the Anschluss , I met him many times and my dad said he was the true hero - the windows of his house were regularly smashed and he was ostracised and spat at in the street.

I am a pacifist and a Buddhist - I did ask the Abott what should you do if you are attacked and he replied in the first instance run. So some of my critcism about Edward was tongue in cheek though that may have not come across.

I was educated at first hand and at length with love from them all so those themes you mention are in my dna.

You may not like what I write but I don't use perjorative language about other posters and I would appreciate if you could please do the same.
